The layout, size and location of the house are great! perfect for our family! The kitchen was well-equipped, and we were surprised to find a gift bag from hatteras realty with a roll of bathroom tissue and a roll of paper towels to get us started.
Air conditioner was not working--we had to call hatteras realty twice to have it fixed. The top level sliding glass door would not latch, so they had to come out to fix that. The top level screen entry door would only latch SOMETIMES so we had to listen to it banging around in the wind. The downstairs tub would only drain about a cup of water per minute. The beds were not made as we had requested until we called and made a trip to the realty office. The location of the house was WONDERFUL. You can see the hatteras light house at night. and if it weren't for the great screened in porches, you would not be able to sit outside to see it, because the mosquitos were so bad (Hurricane Earl had just been through 2 weeks ago). One thing to note however. The photo of the house is INNACURATE. It does NOT have a third level deck. Despite the issues with the house and the realty company, Avon is truly a beautiful place to stay, and we will be returning next year.

The house is in an ideal location with a great view. It has all the comforts you could want or need. The house was well suited to our family including the number of rooms and the layout.

We have rented from Hatteras Realty many times. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. If we need maintenance, they are always quick to response to our call. Having rentend from other companies in the past, that is not always the case. As always, we really enjoyed our week at the Outerbanks and look forward to returning next year!!
