27 Aug 2019
Day at the Docks was started to celebrate the "Spirit of Hatteras" when the village recovered from Hurricane Isabel in 2003 as an intact community, anchored by the commercial and charter fisherman. The event is a confirmation of the strength of community, heritage, and living traditions of the waterman. Day at the Docks: September 13th & 14th 2019 @ Hatteras Village Waterfront

A favorite event at DATD is the Seafood Throwdown! This year the Hatteras Volunteer Fire Department will compete against the Frisco Fire Department to see who can come up with the best tasting seafood dish. A panel of judges will be taste testing and voting on their favorite dish. Come see Hatteras Realty’s very on Bob “Bobby Filet” Barris as he emcees the event. Join us in support of locally caught seafood and local fishing communities!
Blessing of the Fleet
The commercial and charter fishing fleet based in Hatteras Village is the core that unites the seven villages of Hatteras Island. Every island family has current and/or historic ties to the industry and its supporting businesses and the island communities gather once a year in solemn prayer for their safety at sea and their successful catches.
Please join us in celebration of our great watermen and women along the waterfront in Hatteras Village.
