Our family enjoyed our stay at Questover 167 in Buxton, NC. The property was walk-out to the beach & waves close. At the evening high tide, the waves actually came under the house! It was convenient being that close with the young kids - we could monitor nap & restroom times easily. The house did actually move slightly at times to rock everyone to sleep. The kitchen was easily to use when preparing meals. However, do bring your own mixer and blender as both of these were not operational (the blender is missing a gasket & leaked contents quickly & the mixer would not turn on). There were plenty of skillets, utensils and dishes. The glassware was adult friendly (a lot of stem wine glasses) but not much for youngsters (we brought our own). Do be careful of parking unless you own a 4 wheel drive. When backing up, our truck got stuck and sank in the sand. Wonderful neighbors and beach visitors helped us out. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Questover 167 and are looking to come back next year, if we can afford it.

When they said on the beach, the meant ON the beach! WiFi was pretty spotty.

The property sits right on the beach with an unobstructed view of the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing while even sitting inside the house with the doors and windows closed. The living room is very open and a perfect spot to relax while indoors. This house was perfect to walk out onto the beach and go fishing, and let our son play in the sand and water!

We loved this home!! It’s right on beach. The views are amazing. Stores in walking distance. Loved the balcony's and outdoor shower (which was not mentioned in the house info) Will definitely be coming back

Although not technically oceanfront, this house serves very well AS beachfront. We enjoyed our stay, and the proximity to Buxton shops/restaurants and all points south was very convenient.

The most amazing views for sunrise and you even get the opportunity to see dolphins sitting on the deck.

You definitely would be hard pressed to find better views in such a quiet area. Beach access was on point and the neighbors were so kind and helpful. The house had everything we needed and it was so very helpful.

The house itself was great. There was a plumbing issue in the downstairs bathroom (shower did not drain and water pressure was low) and the air conditioning wasn’t working well down there either. Overall our stay was good.

The Good: The location truly can't be beat-- gorgeous views of the ocean!! Definitely oceanfront, even if they can't say that legally. The furnishings struck the right balance between nice and I-hope-I-don't-spill-anything. The outdoor shower was the BEST -- better water pressure than inside. They had a nice sized charcoal grill, which was not mentioned in the listing -- we purchased and brought our own but were happy not to have to assemble it. The beds & pillows were fine. The living spaces were the right size for the number of guests it holds. The kitchen had every tool or pot or pan you would need. Room for Improvement: It seems silly, but I wish there were more hooks or towel rods. We were in and out of the ocean and then the shower just about every day, sometimes multiple times, and there just weren't enough places to hang bath towels, beach towels, and bathing suits -- even if you include the clothesline. Watch out for that road. It's really pitted/potholed. If you can swing it, take a 4x4 vehicle. I don't remember reading anywhere before we booked that we would have to vacuum the place before checking out. I get stripping the beds. But I have to vacuum the entire place? Hmm. Maybe it's in the listing and I missed it.

We thought the home was beautiful and spacious, it was well stocked also, towels , tp , laundry detergent etc...but their is a lot of stairs if you have someone elderly or very young!

The house was clean and well stocked. We had a great week! There is a little walk to the beach but nothing terrible—down the driveway and over the wooden steps. Difficult to set up outdoor activities—cornhole, can jam, etc. because there is no yard—the front of the house is the neighbors property and with cars in the driveway that leaves little outdoor room. Furniture on the lower deck would have been great for some shady seating and a mirror in the bedrooms would have been nice when we were all getting ready to go out one evening. Overall, amazing stay! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

This was our second year staying at Questover. We absolutely love the house and location to the beach. Our issue is there was no use of an outdoor grill and stove/oven is old and not working up to par. The kitchen appliance could be updated. The Keurig doesn’t fill every cup. The microwave is too close to the stove burners that made cooking unsafe and challenging. The decks and stairs were new and a new outdoor shower was great after spending the day in the sand. This is truly a wonderful home and we had a very relaxing week at Questover We did book again for next year.
