There are 3 units. I stayed in unit A (the middle unit): There is an open outdoor shower on the corner of the building (in addition to a hose) to wash sand off. Has a fenced in backyard with grass for dogs and kids. Addressing some previous comments: The only concern is that the wood floor is creaky in the unit and the unit above so it’s a bit noisy when people in the unit above are walking around the kitchen and living room areas. This is not an issue for the bedrooms which are carpeted. Memory foam mattresses were fairly new, clean, and very comfortable. The nail sticking up from the threshold in the hallway has been fixed. Water faucets all worked fine. Bathroom is fine. Blinds are fairly new and all work. Plenty of towels were provided. No washer and dryer or washing machine but the unit was much less expensive than units that have these appliances.

If you want to get pampered and spoiled, this isn't it. But if you want a fantastic location in a cozy quaint little venue, which is comfortable and home-ey. Tarpon Hideaway is your spot! Sure, it's modest, but it has everything a couple or a small family would need, including enough kitchen amenities to make a gourmet meal. Walk out the door and you're on the beach in 5 minutes. OR --- take a morning stroll down by the canals on the sound which are only a minute or so walk away. A quiet neighborhood which is super-safe, with restaurants nearby and the national seashore only a few minutes drive, the Tarpon is un-matched in location. It is maybe the only rental place I have ever stayed at which has a sizable fenced in backyard for dogs and kids. I also have to say that this is my third experience with Vacasa and their customer service has vastly improved. There was a slight issue on booking with their i.d. verification system not working (it never has), but that was resolved within a few minutes and I got a follow-up call letting me know I was set. In the past I had issues with Vacasa on customer service, but this time it was smooth sailing! The last time I stayed here, I gave it a 4 because it is across Hwy 12, but I am giving it a 5 this time because of Vacasa's improvement in customer service, and plus the walk really isn't a big deal.

The house has everything you need for your staying, would prefer a gas bbq. The yard fence in is a great find for those dogs owner and with little kids. Two blocks away from the beach great location everything with in 5 minutes or less drive.

The apartment was very comfortable and had basically everything you would need for a brief stay. You will need supply your own basic cooking spices/oils (salt, pepper, etc), but you should be able to make do with the cooking utensils provided. The location was fantastic, just a short walk to the beach. We had the lower unit, so know that the sound does travel quite a bit from the upper unit as those guests walk around. Did not detract from our vacation, but keep in mind that you may be sharing the building with neighbors. The rental agency communicates thoroughly and provided a smooth rental experience. Great place, and Avon is our favorite location to stay in the outer banks.

We loved staying in the National Seashore area and not in the busy commercial areas. This condo was very clean, but definitely could use some updates (worn out blinds were our biggest issue.) House is an hour to Kitty Hawk and 30 minutes or so to the ferry at Hatteras. The beach just to north of Avon is gorgeous. So quite and beautiful.

We stayed here for 5 nights and 6 days with family of 4 and 1 Golden Retriever. This house is located in a friendly neighborhood closer to Dairy Queen and walkable distance to the beach and sounds. We had both sunrise in the beach and sunset in sounds. Good things: 1. Hose in the front of the house helps to wipe down your sands before entering the house. 2. Deck/Balcony with chairs to sit and relax in morning and late night watching stars 3. Unit has lot of kitchen items including griddle with plenty of spoons and plates. 4. 2 Bedrooms having queen beds and living room has sofa bed and relaxing chair. 5. Property Management acted quickly when we raised service ticket for cleaning and reimbursed for the dinner expense. Things to improve: 1. Bathroom requires few fine-tuning so that guests get 100% satisfaction. Toilet flush is little slow. Cabinets are there but makes you feel very uncomfortable. 2. Blinds needs to be fixed so that guests can sleep peacefully. Some of the blinds were broken. 3. If dishwasher, Washer and Dryer is present it will be really a 5 star and more convenient/comfortable.

We were looking for partial week that accepted a small dog. This apt was exactly what we needed. Nice private porch. Great location. We would stay here again.
