AV104 Blue Bayou

I could so live in this house! Beds were so comfortable. Well maintained. Quiet side street (except when alarm goes off at the station 1 block away and when trash truck comes 2 a.m. Friday morning). Screened porches front and rear were a delight in the early morning to sit quietly with a cup of coffee. The only addition the home needs is a mid size non-stick fry pan as the only one there is a combination griddle/fry pan. In other words this is a very nice home.

This is a wonderful place to say! Will consider booking again. The only compliant I had was dog feces in the driveway, side walk and side yard on the way to the outdoor shower. But all in all a wonderful place to stay!

This home was perfect for our little family getaway in Avon. Located at the end of a small side street, Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to run up to for more shopping and sight seeing. The home is well equipped in the kitchen. Bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds. The bunk bed was a little hard for my kiddo as the ladder is metal and rounded step rungs which hurt their feet climbing up (it's an older bed) but overall worked well. King and Queen in the other bedrooms with comfy beds (bring extra pillows) The home was overall clean ( other than the couple of roaches in the kitchen which I hear is common at the coast and cigarette butts on the front steps) TV's with streaming services that you will have to log into, we stayed busy so only turned the TV on once. Washer and dryer did not work properly. There were instructions to hold the broken door latch closed while you started it so that it would function properly, however, the spin cycle did not work at all. Very thankful it was just once hoodie I threw in to attempt to keep a stain from setting. Had to ring it out by hand and attempt to dry it in the dryer, which was also struggling. We asked for early check in but not allowed. There is plenty to do while you wait though, even in the off season. We would stay here again as the price is affordable and the space suites our family.

Perfect location ! Literally walking distance from the beach! The living / kitchen/ and bedrooms were spacious & immaculate. We enjoyed the screened in front & side porch to take in the outdoors. There were all types of fun games for every age group, of course I was serious about the horse shoes 😂 This was a pleasant surprise for my birthday vacay. A long drive but totally worth it! We will be back for spring!

We stayed 5 nights. The weather was a little bit rough, but we had a great time.

Nice little place at the end of the street. We had booked the place for a fishing trip and was close to all the fishing spots that we planned on fishing. Over all we enjoyed our stay there.

Nice little place at the end of the street, rented the place for a fishing trip. Got some live bait out from the canal so we didn't have to buy any. The only downside to the trip was having a realtor show up with a working code to the door lock while we were away. We got back before she could try her code and she said she wasn't informed that the place was rented for the wee. We enjoyed our stay besides having that realtor show up.

Dog friendly,was great for our elderly dog. House was very clean. High ceilings,great porches,relaxing canal near the home. Large driveway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Bayou. The location is perfect as we choose to drive out on the beach instead of walking. There are several beach ramps and sound access ramps to drive out on. The house was centrally located to shops and restaurants. I highly recommend trying The Froggy Dog. The house itself is much larger inside than it looks from the outside. The screened in porches were fabulous and the outdoor shower was great for washing sand off of my 5 year old. He also enjoyed watching the minnows in the canal. Overall it was a great stay!

We have been renting this property for over 10 years and we are never disappointed. If you appreciate privacy and a place centralized to shops and activities, then this is the place for you. The screened porches are great for eating outdoors with family and just hanging out. The kitchen is well supplied with cookware and VACASA checked in with us to make sure all was well. The house is located at the end of a dead-end road and provides more than enough privacy. We will definitely be back.

The house was wonderful, clean and spacious. Dealing with VACASA was a nightmare. We checked on a Saturday, all was great. On Sunday, I needed to wash towels and the washer latch was broken. So I texted VACASA and they sent a repair man over. I showed him the problem and he said, " As soon as i saw the address and the complaint I knew what it was. This has been broken and we are waiting for a part any day now." What! They knew(per the Avon Office, they did not)! And they still rented it to me. So patient I as I am, I waited til Monday, because maintenance said the part would be here. But t it did not arrive. I texted VACASA and basically begged for towels to no avail. It was not til I went personally to the Avon office did I get any towels. I was promised a call from the agent but again to no avail I got none. I was told i could use their washer, which I did but I wasted a good portion of a days vacation in a sweat box washing clothes. I did get a small deduction from my bill but to me, they should have set me up in another rental. There was an obvious breakdown in their communications which led to a stressful vacation. I will probably look for rentals that are NOT VACASA in the future.

This was the perfect little house for us. Very clean, everything is modern and up to date. Completely private next to the cove. We loved everything being on one floor and not having a ton of stairs. We will definitely be back

We loved the layout of the house and the location! It is within walking distance to the pier and local eaterys. The only issue we had was the comfort of the queen and full size mattresses. They were extremely firm and uncomfortable. We'd love to stay here again but would need to know that the mattresses were changed before that happened.

Our experience here was great. The house is in a quiet area, at the end of the street near the canal. Amenities are perfect and everything was clean and in working condition. One thing to note, there is a helipad behind the house. We were awoken one night by a helicopter conducting a life-flight. Otherwise, the property would have earned 5 stars.
