Description Description
Experience the very best of the North Carolina Coast with this charming Avon cottage! Built during the 1930s with scavenged lumber from local shipwrecks, this home is bursting with character, original stained-glass elements, and every possible comfort of home. Ideally located just moments from the beach, spend your sun-filled days on the shore, walk to plenty of favorite local restaurants, ride bikes around the neighborhood, or make a splash at the club pool. You'll also find Avon Fishing Pier, Kite Point, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse all within about eight miles. Back home, unwind in the cozy living area adorned with comfy couches, elegant furnishings, and tasteful, beach-themed decor. Whip up mouthwatering meals in the well-equipped kitchen, then convene around the spacious dining table for a memorable dinner filled with laughter. Don't forget to break out the board games afterward! Or if you prefer, as the evening winds down, grill up the day's fresh catch on the patio, followed by savoring a sunset cocktail from the comfort of a rocking chair on the lovely covered porch creating even more unforgettable vacation memories. Additional amenities we love in this home include a Pack-N-Play, a high chair, central air conditioning, and a private washer/dryer for those extra sandy days.

We had an amazing 6-night stay at Vitamin Beach 12! The house was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed to feel right at home. From the well-stocked kitchen to the cozy linens, we had all the comforts of home while on vacation. Having a washer, dryer, and dishwasher was a huge plus, giving us more time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We spent time at both the sound side and ocean side beaches every day, making the most of this perfect location. Highly recommend – 5 stars!

Where to start. "Magic" is born from conflict. Our vacation was not "perfect" and so we were blessed with the "magic" of solutions and resolutions. Some things I learned on our trip to Avon: 1. You can rent 4x4 vehicles. 2. Not all Suburbans are 4x4. 3. Halfway across a dune on ramp 38 is NOT a good place to discover you rented a 2 wheel drive Suburban. 4. OBX Towing is a solid tow service and had us unstuck in 30 minutes. Ask for "Phat Daddy." 5. Under no circumstances should you eat at ANY chain restaurants while in Avon. I won't name any names, but the only bad (and oddly enough most expensive) meal we ate was at a franchise and there are SO many better, cheaper, local options available. Ocianna's is my personal favorite and is within walking distance from the house (although you likely won't want to walk after you are done eating.) 6. Avon's biggest issue is parking space. There isn't enough, so renting or bringing a bike is strongly recommended. 7. Avon is a town comprised mainly of locals. We found most of the locals to be a little shy at first, but strike up a conversation and everyone brightens up. I've never met so many new friends on a trip to OBX as I did this time. 8. If you happen to need anything from the hardware store, Ace is very close and the Store Manager, Rick is super amazing and helpful. Ace is the place! 9. DON'T go to the grocery store on Saturday night after checking in. We had 0 problems going to Food Lion any other day we were there, but DON'T go on Saturday. 10. There are 2 bridges that lead to the OBX. Take the south bridge through Mantio when coming in. Trust me. The house has been newly renovated. I have never stayed in a house at the beach that didn't have a few qwerks, and this one wasn't any different, but the few "issues" we had while we were there with the house were almost unnoticed. The backyard was huge and had plenty of room to do almost anything in. The house comfortably slept our family of 5 and there never felt like a time where someone couldn't find their own place to escape to when needed. Everything you will ever need while on this trip is within a 5 minute drive from the house. There are many beach access points very close to the house with both ocean and sound access. While we were there, the beaches were almost empty. You could look left and right and maybe see 5 other groups of people. We look forward to our next great adventure on our next trip down. We will definitely be back!

What a lovely vacation home. Aesthetically pleasing decorations, kitchen well stocked. Loved the added touches of hand soap, dish detergent, coffee, and a few other items. It’s Located in a quiet neighborhood with a short walking distance to the harbor to see the most amazing sunsets. Well definitely rebook.
