Say aloha to easygoing Hatteras Island living at Aloha Banks! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the north end of Avon, this inviting 3-bedroom, 2-bath beach cottage puts you just 500–750 feet from the beach while keeping you close to local restaurants, shops, and everything Avon has to offer.

After a day by the ocean, rinse off in the convenient outdoor shower and settle into one of the home's inviting outdoor spaces. The shaded area beneath the house features hammocks, seating, and a bar area, while the screened porch with string lights provides another comfortable spot to unwind and enjoy the coastal air.

Inside, Aloha Banks offers a bright, comfortable atmosphere with tasteful coastal décor and plenty of room to relax. Gather in the spacious living area for a movie or board game, or prepare your favorite vacation meals in the well-equipped kitchen, complete with both traditional drip and K-Cup coffee makers.

Around Avon Village: There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the beach! Grab fresh local seafood, browse locally owned shops, or cast a line from the historic Avon Fishing Pier. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of nearby ORV beach access ramps or head to the Haulover Day Use Area for easy sound access, watersports, and beautiful views across the Pamlico Sound.

Beach Access: Just a short walk from the house! Follow Sailfish Lane east toward the ocean to reach the nearby public beach access. The beach is approximately 500–750 feet from the home, making it easy to come and go throughout your beach day.

Community Amenities: The Club Hatteras Community Pool and Playground are located at 41156 NC Hwy 12 Avon, NC 27915. The pool is generally open seasonally. Please note that the operation of community pool dates and times may vary dependent on weather and pool management companies.

Guests can also enjoy seasonal access to the Club Hatteras community pool, giving you another way to cool off between beach days.

With the beach within easy walking distance, plenty of outdoor living space, and a convenient Avon location, Aloha Banks has everything you need for a laid-back Hatteras Island stay.

Overall: Good stay, but the outdoor space needs some attention. We had a nice stay at this rental and overall found it to be a comfortable place for our group of 3 adults and 3 kids. There was plenty of room, lots of seating, and the kitchen was especially well stocked. They had a great selection of dishes and appliances, including a coffee pot, crock pots, and everything we needed to prepare meals during our stay. The location was also convenient. It’s very close to the town of Avon and just a short drive to pretty much everything. You could walk to town or to the beach, but be prepared—the mosquitoes are absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, they made enjoying the outdoor areas very difficult. We couldn’t even open the doors without several mosquitoes flying inside. We reached out to the realty company to ask if something could be sprayed, but unfortunately never received a response. There were also a few things inside the house that could use some updating. The downstairs king mattress is extremely uncomfortable and really needs to be replaced. The TV in that room is also very small. Both of the outdoor grills are outdated and were not usable during our stay. Overall, we had a good stay and appreciated the space, location, and well-equipped kitchen. However, if you’re looking for a rental where you can relax outside, sit on the deck, and really enjoy the outdoor space, this probably isn’t the best choice—especially during mosquito season. With some attention to the mosquito problem, the grills, and a few of the furnishings, this rental could be a much better experience.

Beautiful property. Our only issue were the mosquitoes, but that seemed to be everywhere in that area.

The property inside was super clean and very nicely decorated. Lots of seating for the living room and kitchen table. The outside furniture obviously does not get cleaned, we wiped down both the upper and lower furniture. The washcloth was completely black. Mosquitoes are a nuance in the lower sitting area. For the price that we paid for 4 days, I would have expected quality products from the linens (towels, wash cloth and hand towels) the paper products were the same with one roll of toilet paper for 5 people, 4 days. Only got 2 trash bags too. The front storm door is falling apart and someone has placed masking tape to fix it. This is a hazard.Your home is absolutely beautiful and elegant and the price reflects it. The rental management should be providing quality products at the price we rented the home for. We truly enjoyed our stay, super convenient location for the beach, sound side, shops and cute little town. We would love to come back in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Avon. The house was absolutely pristine and located in a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood, with easy walking access to the beach. One thing especially appreciated was all of the thoughtful extras throughout the home. Having fans already provided in every bedroom was such a nice touch and saved us from having to bring additional items from home. The home itself was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The linens and bedding were high quality and made our stay even more relaxing. Everything was well cared for and thoughtfully prepared for guests. Thank you for the wonderful stay - we would absolutely return!

Overall this is a nice place, but there were several little things that prevent it from being a five-star. Many of them are simple fixes, making it even more disappointing. That’s just one of the negatives of renting from a rental company instead of directly from the property owner. The pros: - good size for 4 adults and 2 kids - living room and dining area is a great, spacious area - just a short walk to the beach and pretty much everything in Avon is a short walk or bike ride away - there is a nice area under the home for hanging out or letting the kids run around The cons: - floors were dirty - outside furniture, including the grill, were disgustingly dirty. When I told Vacasa they said outside furniture is not part of their cleaning routine, which doesn’t make much sense to us - screen door on the porch was broken completely defeating the benefits of a screened porch - the mattress in the upstairs bedrooms were terrible - there are two cameras on the property which we did not see in the listing. Even though we weren’t doing anything wrong, it still felt like we were being watched and we likely would not have booked if we knew they were there. I understand why the owners would want them ( I would probably install them if I owned a rental), but still not a fan as a guest.
