Welcome to Windy Dunes! If you are looking for a cozy oceanfront retreat, you've come to the right spot. Located on the popular Ocean View Drive in Avon, this beach escape offers endless panoramic views of the pristine Cape Hatteras National Seashore and is just a short walk or bike ride away from the grocery store, bank, restaurants, and shops. There is a large open drive for plenty of additional parking. There is a propane grill located on the top sundeck facing the ocean, an awesome setting for a cookout. You'll also find WiFi and a washer and dryer for your convenience. Level one consists of three bedrooms, all of which offer an ocean view, plus two baths. Bedroom one has a queen bed and TV, room two is a king primary with a full bathroom and TV, and room three has two single beds and a TV. Bathroom two is located in the hallway. As you ascend to the top floor, you'll be greeted by a charming living room with comfortable furniture and a spectacular ocean view. Sliding glass doors lead to a fully furnished sundeck overlooking the beach. The dining room sits next to the living room, also with an ocean view and sliding glass doors to the sundeck. The beautiful, newly renovated kitchen is well-equipped and ready for you to prepare your favorite dishes. The top floor rounds out with a half-bath and bedroom number four, which is a king primary with a TV and updated bathroom with tiled shower and double-sink vanity. Escape the hustle and bustle of the real world and hide out in Windy Dunes. Centrally located between the beach and shops, this home is perfect for an ocean lover's getaway!

We had a large family stay in the home including kids and grandparents. It was a wonderful house and we had one of our best vacations here! Only thing that could use improvement was that the sliding doors going onto the deck were so incredibly to open and close and the grill had not been cleaned by the previous guests. We also had a hard time lighting it but assistance came promptly and provided us a lighter to help ignite. Overall would recommend the home.

Comfortable rooms, plenty of bathrooms, nice big kitchen, living room with awesome views of the beach. The walkway to the beach is right there!

We loved being right on the beach and close to the walkway! The house is a nice size, the kitchen is perfect, the furniture comfy. It's also close to shopping and restaurants.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced ocean front home, Windy Dunes is one you should consider. The ocean view and sound of the surf night and day was absolutely incredible. It alone was worth the long trip. The house was clean and functional, and easily accommodated our group of 7. The beach access path was right next to the house and one was on the beach in literally a few minutes. The house itself needed some minor maintenance issues to address, but the VACASA staff was incredibly responsive and helpful in all respects. I would readily repeat this experience!

The location is ideal, as the beach is accessible just a minute away. The rental was clean but could use some TLC. (Water spots, splatters on the wall, dirty baseboards- a good deep clean.) The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding was clean. All of the showers had hot water, except the bedroom with the connecting bathroom on the lower level. It was a consistent luke warm temp with very little water pressure. The kitchen had all that we needed, excluding a good nonstick pan, which we had to purchase. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. A beautiful view from each room, clean, comfy furniture, and thoughtful amenities (hand soap, dove travel toiletries, dish liquid, paper towels, sponges, dishwasher and laundry pods) The washer and dryer are clean, convenient, and new. Vacasa checked in on us and were extremely courteous. They made the process easy and flawless. Vacasa has been by far the best rental company we’ve used (and we have used many in the OBX) Our family had a lovely experience . We have never wanted to book the same rental twice but we would absolutely stay here again! Thank you for a comfortable stay and awonderful vacation!
