The house definitely needs a deep scrub, bathroom ceiling repairs, and a fresh coat of indoor paint. It’s a bit more run down than the pictures show. However, we had a great vacation!

Everything was great but the house definitely needs a deep clean, especially the kitchen cabinets. Also, the interior does need a fresh coat of paint and a professional might need to come look at the ceiling in the 2nd floor bathroom. It is literally starting to split at the seams.

Comfortable and relaxing. Enjoyed all the decks and the ocean view. Enjoyed the screened porch at night (one screen is slightly detached). Had everything to start vacation prior to Lion King visit. Enjoyed proximity to beach. Beach access was hidden by foliage, but found that after hiking the dunes. Sound access was not too far away for paddleboard (Ramp 54). Drove by the original VRBO on Croaker to compare the swap y’all suggested and so glad we got Ocean Haus. Nice walk ability to stores. 3 days of rain stunk, but that’s life. Still went to beach. Wish we had a Neso Tent. Only complaint about cottage was master bed mattress is quite in need of replacing. NC 12 after a rain is quite challenging… learned that going to Nags Head from Avon on a Saturday for Outlet Mall shopping during the rain is a two hour traffic jam and you should use the potty before you leave!

Our family was so thankful for our week here!! We loved how close it was to the beach and kept some wash outside at the outdoor shower which made us such an easy transition from beach to inside. You can stand on the porch or even in the kitchen inside and see the ocean! It was truly better than we even thought it would be from the pictures. They stocked the kitchen SO well with appliances and dishes. There are games, books and puzzles. The beds are comfy! There are lots of stairs but I feel like that’s normal with these homes and well worth it to get high enough to see the water. It was the perfect layout for our family of 6 and we would love to return!! Plus the location is so perfect for the quiet beach and close to explore lots of places along the outer banks. Plus it’s only a few minutes to drive to their pool!

Very homey. Worn but cozy. Lots of puzzles and games and books. It felt like a family home, as indeed it is. Good and plentiful supply of quality pots, pans and utensils. Everything you could need - graters, strainers, cooking sheets, skillets, tea kettle. Knives could use sharpening. Good supply of towels and great washer-dryer. As they mention, bring your own condiments and paper supplies. Loved the screened in porch for all our meals.

Bring your own seasonings, EVO, etc., but the utensils and cooking equipment are extensive and good quality. There was everything you could need for cooking and baking. It has a very homey feel with tons of puzzles and games and books. Washer and dryer were good. Bring your own cleaning supplies.
Apparently pre-Memorial Day was on the cusp of the new season so there were some hiccups--wifi needed refreshing and outdoor furniture not clean but Hatteras sent a repair person right away.

Overall, with the views and proximity to the beach this is an ideal house. The best parts of the amenities were tons of books, games and puzzles. We used a smaller table in the living room to spend time over coffee each morning working on a puzzle. After dinner and a walk on the beach we used the deck or played a game inside. Truthfully, this house is “dated” and the fridge needed extra help when closing and sealing the door. The kitchen has most items you might need but if you want to make pasta, you’ll need a larger pot and if you like to do crock pot meals while at the beach you need to bring your own crock pot. If you have teens that require high speed internet, do not choose this house. There is a connection but it is slow compared to most modern needs. It’s hard to complain when you’re at the beach in a beautiful location but I would have liked to have known these things before deciding on a beach stay.

The home is decorated nicely. The large windows and doors let in a lot of natural light, which is very appealing. The beds were extremely comfortable. We were able to get a great nights sleep. The kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen items, but there is nothing there for eating seafood. Getting to the beach was easy from the home. The beach area at this home is wide with lots of room to play. The only con for this home would be the parking. There is room for one vehicle and getting that vehicle in and out was difficult at times due to the neighbors cars.

We liked the view of ocean & screen porch. Beds were cozy. Little things would make huge improvement in bathroom. Carpeted stairs need cleaned. Fridge door & door to screen porch were aggravating. Had ant issue and sweeper bag was extremely full & I texted and they got someone to come from pest control to spray and brought sweeper bags (wrong ones though) Good experience with Vacasa in regard to that. First time renting home with just our family & not a group.

We had the most wonderful stay at Ocean Haus. Great view of the ocean from the screened in porch, steps from the best beach in Avon, walking/biking distance to everything else. Ocean Haus was spacious and clean, it was the perfect size with room to spare for 4 adults and 2 kids. It was also incredibly affordable. Plenty of great beach reads, puzzles and games. The layout was perfect and open upstairs with high ceilings and plenty of privacy downstairs in the bedrooms. We can't wait to return!

This house had a great location to the beach. The boardwalk was located right across the street. It had a beautiful view of the ocean and a nice screened in porch. It is a very large house with an open floor plan. My husband and I will be booking this same house next time we visit the Outer Banks. We also really loved the community, Avon. All of the locals we visited with were very friendly, it is a clean town with everything you need, and we were able to visit all of the beaches, from Duck to Hatteras, due to its proximity. My only complaint is that it advertises a charcoal grill but the grill is for owner use only.

We had a great time on our vacation. The property was exactly what we expected. The only negative note I have is that the refrigerator door doesn't close properly. You may want to have maintenance take a look at it. Or the properly owner may want to consider upgrading to a newer model.

The home was clean, kept up and had everything you would need in a home rental...I would give it 9. We would have liked a light on when we arrived as we arrived after dark and it was difficult to see. No hairdryer...but, again, overall, we felt the place was good enough to return...and that is how I would guage any home I rented. Oh, btw...the folks at VACASA were on top of everything, tehy texted before we arrived, during our stay and before leaving...they also get a 9 in top notch service!

This is a place we would highly recommend to anyone that would ask not to mention, we would stay at again. Great location, clean, and great service by the owner of the property. Finding a great place to eat was a bit challenging, that said, on our last night we found a great place to eat...and we would highly recommend it, it was called the Cockeyed Clam...off the beaten path in Buxton, but, food was excellent, we got what we paid for...

We have had 2-week stays in Ocean Haus for 19 consecutive years. It is a cheery looking cottage with good ocean views and a screened porch that is perfect for outdoor meals. We love Sailfish Lane and the fantastic dunes and wide beach there. We love Ocean Haus for many reasons and will continue to stay there next year. Ocean Haus has a very nice main level. Pretty furniture and the kitchen is the best supplied with necessities and extras of any Hatteras home we've rented. Two of the bedrooms are quite spacious. Third is adequate. Outdoor shower is large.

This experience was my first time renting a house through VRBO. Based on the experience, I will never use a hotel again. Everything was perfect, and exactly as described. The house was located in a great spot was clean and welcoming. One of my best vacations ever as a result. 10 stars out of 5 for all of us! Woot!

The house was the best house out of the ten others we stayed in. The little touches of the platinum, two really nice bath towels for all guests, the wicker bag with goodies inside to the two ` to go ` cups was a really really nice touch. You definitely stand out above other OBX realities. Again thank you for all those special touches! We will be looking to rent a house by Outerbeaches again! This house was incredible. The attention to small detail , molding, decor, the stocked kitchen with multiple dishwashers oven, garbage pails, cups all matching dishes for 20 plus all matching! Dreamweaver has sweeping views of the ocean. The screened in porch with its picnic table and lounging chairs allows for additional ways to enjoy the ocean sights and sounds. Weather was cold and rainy, and yet we had a wonderful time just being together as a family. Milesaway 144 felt like home, even though we really were 500 miles away! Milesaway 144 was spacious, beautiful, immaculately clean, and kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. It was like being at home! Amorous is a beautiful home with plenty of room for our family. We loved the view from the top deck and from the hot tub. The other decks are really nice to be able to see the sunset.
