High Hopes' will be realized when you stay at this lovely four-bedroom, two-bathroom family retreat in Avon. This oceanfront home is situated in a natural, maritime garden providing you a wondrous outdoor setting with easy access to the beach via the boardwalk and in a great location close to local stores and restaurants. South-facing furnished decks will afford you great views of the ocean and a glimpse of the peaceful sound. High Hopes offers comfortable and pleasing furnishings and decor inside, with a spacious living/dining room combination with a high ceiling and exposed beams. Colorful decorations and wood-paneled walls offer a warm atmosphere and a variety of restful sleeping options are available in the four bedrooms. Enjoy additional views of the ocean from the eight-person dining table or breakfast bar as you feast on delicious seafood or stretch out on one of the comfortable couches in front of the TV. An additional TV, two VCR players, a DVD player, and a stereo/CD player are ready to provide some relaxing indoor entertainment when you need a break from the beach. Other great amenities at High Hopes include wireless, high-speed internet access for your laptop, ground-level storage and utility room, convenient, covered parking directly beneath the home, and an outdoor charcoal grill. You will also enjoy access to Club Hatteras Pool and Tennis for some additional recreational fun. Perfect house, perfect location, love the beach access in the back yard and 4x4 ramp right down the street. Would be great to leave a note in the check-in email about the security knob on front door and also locations of key to accessing the laundry/utility room

We loved the views - that is why you want to book this house! Disappointed by the beach access (lack of stairs down to the beach). This left it difficult to make it back up the steep incline back to the platform. Those with mobility issues will not make it. Last bit I had to do on hands and knees. FYI-Laundry is on the outside on the bottom -didn’t notice that when I booked. Decor is dated but did appreciate the sticky notes, pens, and first aid kit. Again, you are booking for views. Donated and left but was probably trashed by cleaner - fridge baking soda for fridge and freezer. It had a terrible odor when we arrived. The fridge should be leveled as the door doesn’t automatically shut. It wasn’t booked the next week and we called about extending the stay for another few days up to the week but we had done all we wanted to pay the price we were quoted. Happy stays!

We loved our family, pet friendly get away. We enjoyed the traditional beach house feel and the view of the ocean. The location allowed for daily dog walks, beach walks, and quick access to great restaurants and shops.

We had some issues with receiving the check in code. We did not receive the code until we reached out to the host. Initially the code we were first given to unlock the smart lock did not work. However after calling the after hours number, we were given the correct code. The lock was a little tricky but the host was very patient and walked us through it. Other than the minor check in issue, the stay was perfect for our family and pup. We would definitely stay at this location again and plan to if it’s available next year!

The views were absolutely beautiful, and the whole place felt quiet, peaceful, and relaxing — exactly what we were hoping for. Our favorite part was sitting and watching the dolphins; it was such a special touch that made the trip feel extra memorable. If you’re looking for a calm beachfront getaway with a great view, this is a great spot.

We have stayed in this house every year since 1996. It isn't the biggest or flashiest house on the beach but the views are amazing and it helps us to forget the big city rat race. Time slows at OBX and High Hopes is like a good bowl of mac and cheese. Comfort food for the soul. It knows why we are there and delivers for a good price and good amenities. Already booked for next year before we left our trip this year!

Our family came to spend Thanksgiving and we had the best time! Waking up to watch the beautiful sunrises from the living room was absolutely magical! We had all the kitchen tools needed to cook a wonderful Thanksgiving meal! We will be back!

This property was perfect for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small children)! We went back and forth to the beach for nap time, lunch, etc - the outdoor shower was great for this! Wifi was slow on my computer but we didn't have any issues streaming on the TV. Kitchen was fully stocked. Overall, it was a great visit and we would rent here again!

We loved the view, location, & decks with locking gates on both levels. Amazing star gazing in evenings. This house looks exactly as pictured, it is old and furniture & fixtures are dated. WiFi worked great & allowed me to take work calls during our stay.

Girls Trip/Birthday Weekend

A group of 5 of us (plus my dog) stayed here the end of April for my 30th. It was perfect for us! The layout is nice, the walk to Nothing fancy, but was kept up nicely. Extremely clean, which we all know isn't true of all pet friendly places. When we first arrived there were some power tools left inside from recent repair work, which didn't bother us, but Management was quick to respond and send someone to retrieve them, the gentleman was so kind and apologetic. The decks/porches were phenomenal and we spent the majority of our time there. We cooked some meals there and the kitchen was very well stocked. We made the best memories in this property. We plan on rebooking again soon for another weekend get away! I recommend this place to everyone. The price, location, and property cannot be beat!

Nothing beats the view! This is our fourth time staying at High Hopes, and I wouldn't stay anywhere but Greenwood Drive. It is so close to everything, but is secluded from the "action". There are some things that I would update, but all-in-all, it's great!

The upstairs windows always provide an amazing view of the ocean. At night, we sat on the deck beneath a blanket of stars. We even got to see the tau Herculid meteor shower.

We loved this home. It had plenty of room and was furnished with everything we needed. Not a fancy house, but clean and very homey (in a good way), which was perfect because we aren't fancy people. Owner was VERY helpful and pleasant. At first we weren't sent the code to get in, and couldn't find the key to the laundry room. I only mention this to say that the owner was very quick to help us so we had no problems and could enjoy our stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

We rented Beach House and Spindrift for our large family. That they were side-by-side and used the same private walkway was perfect for us. We wold do the same again. We liked the bit of Christian decor. Ocean front; great view of ocean. Quick walk to the beach. Double shower.
