Whether you love to fish, swim, surf, kayak, kiteboard, windsurf, birdwatch, or lounge on the beach, Frog Hollow lets you do it all! New HVAC units installed for the 2025 season This lovely, soundside, 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home is located in the quiet Askin's Creek subdivision on the south side of Avon. It's just a short walk to the beach or a short drive to the grocery store, restaurants, and four-wheel drive beach access (a permit is required). You'll also be 10 minutes from the pool and Canadian Hole. Bring bikes and running shoes because Avon has been blessed with a village-long bike path! Boasting new upgrades for 2023, including new mattresses, additional pillows, outdoor dining table and chairs, and a remote work area with desk and chairs, Frog Hollow has cornered the market on cool, comfort, and views. The house showcases five deck areas - two off the front of the house and three off the back of the house. The front decks afford views of Askin's Creek and Pamlico Sound sunsets. The three-tiered back deck allows you to climb three stories through junipers emerging to ocean, the sound, and views of national park land. We might be a little biased, but we think Frog Hollow has some of the best views in the area. Inside, you'll find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the first floor. Each bedroom includes a 40-inch 4K TV, a recharging station for your electronics, and a queen-size bed. The second bedroom includes twin bunks in addition to the queen bed. The first bedroom has an en suite bath, while there is a hall bath for other guests. The first and second bedrooms have sliding doors that access the back deck. The first floor also includes laundry facilities. Upstairs, you'll find a large open living space featuring a dining area, a living room, a well-appointed kitchen, and a half-bath. There's also a 12-foot sliding door to access the back deck and another sliding door opposite to access the upper front deck. Choose a deck to watch a fantastic sunrise over the Atlantic or a delightful sunset over Pamlico Sound; linger awhile to listen to the frogs chirp. Watch the deer feed along the wood line, or enjoy a spectacular view of the Milky Way. If you time it right, you may even see the space station pass overhead. The carport beneath the house features a fish-cleaning table, an outdoor shower, charcoal grill, storage, and room for two cars with additional parking on the concrete driveway. This home also features a fenced-in dog run - up to two dogs are welcome for a nightly fee! You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking, which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement. Guests also have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather.

This was our second visit to Frog Hollow, and we hope to keep coming back for more fun. This time we extended our stay to two weeks because we loved it so much last year. The house is fantastic, and it's located close to numerous restaurants and attractions. This property is perfect; you can see that from the moment you pull into the driveway. It's well-kept with a beautiful yard and offers every indoor and outdoor amenity you can ever want. The owners fully embrace the concept of 'know your guest'...you can see they walk in our shoes and equip this house as if they are living there. The kitchen is outstanding...every pot, pan, cooking tool, spice, serving dish you could ever want to make fresh seafood meals or anything at all is provided. The living area offers books and tons of games to keep the entire family occupied. There is a closet of 'in case you forgot' items - from toothpaste to lip balm, shaving kits and more...it's like going to the front desk of a quality hotel! They even have an entire box of charging cords for multiple device types for your use! And if that's not enough, there's a shelving unit in the kitchen with more supplies to get you started until you can shop - coffee pods, lemonade, and other necessities. They have multiple binoculars for star gazing, note pads and pens for game night...so much I can't list it all! Oh, and the beach supplies - beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, carts to fill with supplies that easily roll on the beach - it's so nice to have everything there, no need to bring it with you or buy things. The multiple decks, each equipped with adirondack chairs and tables and a dining table. It's wonderful to sit outside to enjoy a morning cup of coffee with the sea breeze and watch the kite surfers in the sound. And it's very dog-friendly! They have multiple bowls and feeding stations and a lovely fenced in area so the dogs can run down the back stairs into the yard and stay safely on the property. Our dog loves it there! The home is bright, open and so lovely decorated in a beach theme including awesome photographs taken by the owner (and they give you access to the jpgs if you want a copy!). This home just reaches out and embraces you the moment you walk in. It's truly become our 'happy place' away from home. We encourage you to visit Frog Hollow and experience it for yourself...you'll want to come back too!

We just wrapped up an amazing week at Frog Hollow. We have been traveling to the OBX at least once a year for vacations for over 10 years. This house has set the bar going forward as it has everything that is needed for a restful week. The overthought of everything that is included with house is amazing. From the dog run, to the deck furniture, to the provided supplies ( coffee, notepads, pens, poop bags, etc.) was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and will make this our go to place going forward!

This was our second year in a row staying here during Labor Day week and we plan to come back next year if schedule works out. This place is bright, clean, well-maintained, well-equipped and the owners provide lots of little extras. Outside there are a number of decks with beautiful views and/or quiet privacy. It's a great location, only a 10-minute walk to a beautiful beach. We also love it because it's a great place to bring our two small dogs. The owners are clearly dog-friendly. Can't wait to come back next year!

Loved this place! Everything was as pictured/advertised (or better). We have stayed in many rentals and have never found one with so many extras (toiletries, pens, notepads, lip balm, koozies, stamped post cards, etc.) to make the stay carefree and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

The house is in a great location. Short walk to beach with fabulous views off its many decks while still having a sense of privacy. Very short drive to supermarket, shopping, and a great variety of restaurants. Many within walking distance too. It is well maintained, nicely decorated, bright and cheery, and comfortable. The owners even provide a notebook of insider tips for dinning and activities, which was helpful because this was our first visit to the Outer Banks. The house has everything you could think you would need and more. Even includes toiletries, pens, notepads, bumper stickers, koozies, and stamped post cards to complete and mail. Well equipped kitchen with everything needed for cooking including spices and an outdoor grill. All the modern electronics as well as board games for kids and family. Great reading material with interesting books on the Outer Banks. For the beach there were toys, chairs, boogie boards, an umbrella, a wagon and beach cart to transport everything to and from the beach. Outdoor shower and hose for post beach. The yard has a fenced in area for dogs as well. We had a wonderful vacation and highly recommend Frog Hollow to anyone!

This house checks many boxes and then some. The layout of the house is perfect. A well stocked kitchen. The owner prides themselves making sure the guess enjoy their stay and are comfortable. The owner keeps on adding more items and updates the house yearly. Quiet neighborhood, perfect area to bike to lunch. Close to the grocery store. Offroad beach just across the street.

This property is excellent. The space was perfect for the 6 of us. The kitchen family room area is very welcoming. The owners thought of everything to make the stay stress free. Charging cords for your phones, books to read, starter coffee pods, binder of great information about the area and board games. They even thought about your dog with dog bowls a fenced area for the dog and a doggie gift as well. The place had outdoor areas to sit in the sun or shade all day long. The walk to the beach was short and chairs, toys and boogie boards were provided. This is the perfect place. There is so much to do in the area and Frog Hollow will be our place to stay.

We absolutely LOVED Frog Hollow from the moment we arrived! The owners clearly embraced the concept of ‘be your guest’ and took it to new levels! Every little detail was addressed. The property is beautiful – both inside and outside. It’s all well-maintained and nestled in a lovely community in Avon. Mature trees and foliage give privacy and it’s a very short walk to the beach. Avon itself has tons to offer, including a huge Food Lion grocery store to stock up, and multiple fantastic restaurants offering local fare. You’re greeted with Welcome 3-ring binder full of great information – from insight about the home and its amenities (Internet, garbage pick-up, TV set-up, and tons more) to tips about the local area (restaurants, grocery store, shops, seafood market, activities, etc.). The house is very clean, bright and decorated with ocean themes – relaxing colors throughout and wonderful photography on the walls. Beds were comfy and plenty of bathrooms. All areas were welcoming and set up to promote conversation and relaxation. Ample comfy couch space and chairs in the living room to accommodate several guests and multiple board games for guests to enjoy. Great dining table inside too. The kitchen was as well-stocked as my home kitchen - maybe more! So many pots, pans, bakeware, glasses, cups, utensils...it was phenomenal. Buy fresh seafood and you’ll have everything you need to cook - even a full spice rack! Washer and dryer was very nice, especially for a week-long stay. Pack less and just wash things! Loved the outside shower in the garage so humans and furry friend can clean up after the beach - and a fish cleaning station! They also provide TONS of things to take to the beach - beach chairs, beach umbrellas and toys/small surfboards and two beach-friendly wagons to transport all the gear. ‘For your convenience’ shelves are tucked next to the kitchen with multiple amenities for guests if you forget things, even Frog Hollow notepads for game score keeping. The hosts covered it all! This level of detail was truly unexpected and so appreciated! Tabletop charging stations for your devices throughout the house and multiple ‘loaner’ charging cables (Apple, Android, etc.). The multiple decks in back and front all offer multiple chairs and tables to enjoy the sunrise, sunset, breezes, stargazing opportunities and views any time of day. The third level deck is truly a ‘stairway to heaven’! The house is dog-friendly with many dog amenities! Several water bowls, feeding stations, poop bags, and even a tick remover. Orvis furniture cover to keep the dog comfy on the couch. There is a fantastic dog run where the pups can go down the back deck stairs right into the run and be safe. It was wonderful. In summary, we highly recommend Frog Hollow – you can’t go wrong with the rental. We had zero issues and felt right at home. We thank the owners for being so guest-focused and providing us with an amazing, relaxing experience. We will be back!

I have stayed in rental homes across the country, this rental home is the most accommodating I have stayed in by far. It is very obvious that the hosts do appreciate you for staying with them, and the thought that goes into providing guests with everything they need or forgot to bring is beyond comparison. The location of the home is perfect for fishing or casual beachgoers and the home layout makes it easy to enjoy. The crows nest is an excellent amenity as is the fenced dog lot if your bring your Fido. They have given plenty of thought to pets and pet lovers too. We will definitely stay here again.

First off, the house it great, and just what we needed. Clean, comfortable, and a great location. We loved that it had a fenced in yard for the dog. It also has a lot of deck space for enjoying the outdoors. The only reason for taking off 1 star was because of a delayed check in. We planned our trip to arrive right at the 5pm check in time, driving from Charlottesville, Va with a dog and a 1 year old child. About an hour out, I get a call that the home would not be ready until 5:30. Ok, no big deal I guess. We made an extra stop to stretch our legs and arrived to the house at 5:15. I asked the cleaner when she expects it to be ready and she said "at least another hour". This didn't sit well with me. To arrive at our check in time and to be told that we would have to sit in our car after 7 hours of driving (traffic and stops) was tough to hear. The house ended up being ready at about 6:20pm, an hour and 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. This shouldn't happen. It was a rough start but the rest of the week was perfect and I would still recommend this company and this house. If we choose to go back to Avon again for vacation, I would book this house again.

First, this was the easiest access to a rental ever! Well appointed without being too fancy. Linens & Towels provided. They even threw in some Shampoo. Plenty of Hand soaps/laundry detergent/dish soap. Kitchen is well appointed. Had everything we needed for the week. Just bring your own beach chairs. Wow ! TVs in every room! Must be a perk for families. Games/cards/movies/books/postcards were also provided. Best of all, it is located in a secure neighborhood. We had a small dog and felt safe walking her at night. Love the little doggie run at the bottom of the stairs and loads of poop bags provided. Can’t say anything was wrong, Only Right! Enjoy! We’ll be back!

We stayed for a week in august with our two small children and small dog, this home was perfect for us. It’s close to many beaches, it has a great view of the sound and on the other side you can also see the ocean. There is a fenced in area for our dog which was great. Each bedroom had a tv and we even had extra bedrooms and space. The TVs all have the ability to play streaming services which was nice. They also had many dvds and games there which the kids loved on our one rainy day. They provide clean up after your dog bags which is a nice service, and hand sanitizer, masks, and postcards to send to friends. The kitchen was perfect, we couldn’t find scissors which would have been useful, but for those coming I would pack these. The one weird occurrence was on our last day there I took the car and went to the local book store while my husband stayed in the house with our kids napping, and he said that while I was gone, cleaning ladies entered the home unannounced - just opened the door and walked in, assuming likely that no one was home because no car was in the drive way- but he was very uncomfortable with that. What if we were getting out of the shower, or not there and you have people coming in and out without letting you know. (There’s no place to lock anything up btw). I’ve heard that the cleaning schedule is very demanding and I’ve heard others complain of this on social media with other homes, so apparently this happens a lot and is not unique to this home. Overall we had an amazing experience at the outer banks and can’t wait to come back. This home was very lovely.

House is much bigger in person than it appears online. Nice touch to have the enclosed dog run. Our only complaint is that it was somewhat dusty - fans had thick dust on them that we had to clean as members of our family are sensitive to dust. The kitchen has everything you could hope for, plenty of dishes, pans etc. We would definitely return to this house.

This home was well stocked with essentials from the owners, which is so thoughtful and courteous. We loved the fenced in dog run, breathtaking sunset views, quiet street, clean home and well equipped kitchen. The slider doors on both sides of the top floor allowed the sea breezes to flow right through the home and provide the “salt therapy” air we all seek for relaxing on vacation. We loved this home and wish our week was available next year for rental again!

Loved the outside shower in the garage so humans and furry friend can clean up after the beach - and a fish cleaning station! They also provide TONS of things to take to the beach - beach chairs, beach umbrellas and toys/small surfboards and two beach-friendly wagons to transport all the gear. ‘For your convenience’ shelves are tucked next to the kitchen with multiple amenities for guests if you forget things, even Frog Hollow notepads for game score keeping. The hosts covered it all! This level of detail was truly unexpected and so appreciated! Tabletop charging stations for your devices throughout the house and multiple ‘loaner’ charging cables (Apple, Android, etc.). The multiple decks in back and front all offer multiple chairs and tables to enjoy the sunrise, sunset, breezes, stargazing opportunities and views any time of day. The third level deck is truly a ‘stairway to heaven’! The house is dog-friendly with many dog amenities! Several water bowls, feeding stations, poop bags, and even a tick remover. Orvis furniture cover to keep the dog comfy on the couch. There is a fantastic dog run where the pups can go down the back deck stairs right into the run and be safe. It was wonderful. In summary, we highly recommend Frog Hollow – you can’t go wrong with the rental. We had zero issues and felt right at home. We thank the owners for being so guest-focused and providing us with an amazing, relaxing experience. We will be back!

The hosts go way past the extra mile to provide everything and more for guests to stay and enjoy their trip to OBX. We have stayed there twice now and absolutely plan to stay again in the future. Great location and great accommodations!

I have stayed in rental homes across the country, this rental home is the most accommodating I have stayed in by far. It is very obvious that the hosts do appreciate you for staying with them, and the thought that goes into providing guests with everything they need or forgot to bring is beyond comparison. The location of the home is perfect for fishing or casual beachgoers and the home layout makes it easy to enjoy. The crows nest is an excellent amenity as is the fenced dog lot if your bring your Fido. They have given plenty of thought to pets and pet lovers too. We will definitely stay here again.

Immaculate home & perfect stay for us & our 2 dogs. Owners provided extras like dog bowls & even shaving supplies (in case you forgot yours!) . Fully equipped kitchen, great views from many decks. We've already made reservations for next year!

What is there not to love about Frog Hollow? It’s in a great location, spacious, comfortable, and great setups for your pet to go out and stay safe within the fenced area. We have stayed in this home two years now and already booked for next year. Love it!

First off, the house it great, and just what we needed. Clean, comfortable, and a great location. We loved that it had a fenced in yard for the dog. It also has a lot of deck space for enjoying the outdoors. The only reason for taking off 1 star was because of a delayed check in. We planned our trip to arrive right at the 5pm check in time, driving from Charlottesville, Va with a dog and a 1 year old child. About an hour out, I get a call that the home would not be ready until 5:30. Ok, no big deal I guess. We made an extra stop to stretch our legs and arrived to the house at 5:15. I asked the cleaner when she expects it to be ready and she said "at least another hour". This didn't sit well with me. To arrive at our check in time and to be told that we would have to sit in our car after 7 hours of driving (traffic and stops) was tough to hear. The house ended up being ready at about 6:20pm, an hour and 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. This shouldn't happen. It was a rough start but the rest of the week was perfect and I would still recommend this company and this house. If we choose to go back to Avon again for vacation, I would book this house again.

First, this was the easiest access to a rental ever! Well appointed without being too fancy. Linens & Towels provided. They even threw in some Shampoo. Plenty of Hand soaps/laundry detergent/dish soap. Kitchen is well appointed. Had everything we needed for the week. Just bring your own beach chairs. Wow ! TVs in every room! Must be a perk for families. Games/cards/movies/books/postcards were also provided. Best of all, it is located in a secure neighborhood. We had a small dog and felt safe walking her at night. Love the little doggie run at the bottom of the stairs and loads of poop bags provided. Can’t say anything was wrong, Only Right! Enjoy! We’ll be back!

Frog Hollow was an amazing place to stay. We headed down during a tropical storm, so we spent a lot of time in the house. It was clean and stocked with everything you need. We’ll definitely be back!! Hopefully with better weather

We stayed for a week in august with our two small children and small dog, this home was perfect for us. It’s close to many beaches, it has a great view of the sound and on the other side you can also see the ocean. There is a fenced in area for our dog which was great. Each bedroom had a tv and we even had extra bedrooms and space. The TVs all have the ability to play streaming services which was nice. They also had many dvds and games there which the kids loved on our one rainy day. They provide clean up after your dog bags which is a nice service, and hand sanitizer, masks, and postcards to send to friends. The kitchen was perfect, we couldn’t find scissors which would have been useful, but for those coming I would pack these. The one weird occurrence was on our last day there I took the car and went to the local book store while my husband stayed in the house with our kids napping, and he said that while I was gone, cleaning ladies entered the home unannounced - just opened the door and walked in, assuming likely that no one was home because no car was in the drive way- but he was very uncomfortable with that. What if we were getting out of the shower, or not there and you have people coming in and out without letting you know. (There’s no place to lock anything up btw). I’ve heard that the cleaning schedule is very demanding and I’ve heard others complain of this on social media with other homes, so apparently this happens a lot and is not unique to this home. Overall we had an amazing experience at the outer banks and can’t wait to come back. This home was very lovely.

The house was clean and very nice. The location was great as well, along with the views. I got up every morning and drank my coffee to a great view. We will definitely rent this home again!

Enjoyed our stay so much and so did our dog. He was able to go and come as he pleased. Thanks for the fenced in yard, we could sit on the deck and he could go down the stairs to the yard. It was great. Nice cottage, loved everything. Well stocked.

House is much bigger in person than it appears online. Nice touch to have the enclosed dog run. Our only complaint is that it was somewhat dusty - fans had thick dust on them that we had to clean as members of our family are sensitive to dust. The kitchen has everything you could hope for, plenty of dishes, pans etc. We would definitely return to this house.

This home was well stocked with essentials from the owners, which is so thoughtful and courteous. We loved the fenced in dog run, breathtaking sunset views, quiet street, clean home and well equipped kitchen. The slider doors on both sides of the top floor allowed the sea breezes to flow right through the home and provide the “salt therapy” air we all seek for relaxing on vacation. We loved this home and wish our week was available next year for rental again!
