Description

Enjoy a super ocean view lot in quiet Askin's Creek, just one house back from the ocean. Hooked on Beach Life is a mere stone's throw from the ocean's edge and one of the closest homes to the Canadian Hole windsurfing area. It's also well-centered on Hatteras Island, convenient to local shops, & it's Pet-Friendly!

The short 100-ft walk over the direct ocean access to the beachfront will delight anyone who has ever lugged a beach chair, cooler or child to the water. It also features beautiful views from its wide two-level decks and plenty of privacy with a large lot & in a neighborhood with a single street!

The ground level has an ample, concrete parking area. This level also features an outdoor shower, a charcoal grill & a bar for entertaining, a fish-cleaning station for those fish you bring home, and a large lot where you can relax in the shade (or sun), play some corn-hole, or walk your dog!

The first level has three spacious bedrooms - two with king-beds & balconies overlooking the ocean, and the third has a full-size bed plus a set of bunk-beds for the kids. Each bedroom features a TV with DVD players & plenty of storage areas. This level also includes a bathroom, a laundry area, and comfortable furnishings.

On the top level, Hooked on Beach Life pays homage to the beautiful ocean view location with a grand prow-front design that allows great views of the beach and sunrises. This level has a large great room with cathedral ceilings, plenty of glass and warm wood accents and new leather seating; another bathroom, and a screened porch. We've also added a Shuffleboard Table! This is also where you will find a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dining area that can handle light hors d'oeuvres or family-size meals in style. You can also enjoy a Sunset view from the kitchen window!

This house was great overall!! It is a bit noisy with being right on 12, so if you're not big on traffic noise that might be an issue. The furniture is a little dated and worn in but still in usable shape. Plus who would want to move furniture up and down into the actual house lol. Maybe an upgrade on the toilets too. For a tall person like myself I was knees to my chin every use. I appreciated the closeness to the ocean and the neighborhood was nice. I do wish that there has been a little more information about the club info (like where it is located, hours, etc). Maybe a good deep clean wouldn't hurt overall as well!

If you are on the fence about booking this place because of the reviews BOOK IT! The pros: proximity to the beach is literally across the walkway, the home was verrrrryyyy clean, plenty of room for the kiddo was actually surprised by the size of the unit the pictures don’t do the listing justice it’s bigger in person, tons of appliances and cookware. The Cons: the furnishings are dated, the sofa 100% needs to be replaced has tons of stains and pet hair, minor cosmetic imperfections, the beach IS literally across the walkway but climbing the dunes will be a challenge I would suggest driving onto the beach which is less than a 2 minute drive. Lots of spiders but not because of a lack of cleanliness the house is nestled in a wooded area so to be expected. Overall a nice stay! Thank you for having us

We are regretful the furnishings—especially the sofa—fell short; We’ve scheduled an upholstery deep-clean, and will address the minor cosmetic repairs during the next maintenance cycle. The home is regularly treated for pests however we have arranged additional pest-control measures to help with insects . Thanks for staying with us — we hope to host you again.

Nice house, every amenity including a nice maker. Path to the beach is a little challenging, but worth the effort.

We have stayed in the Outer Banks as an annual family trip for a few years now. Hooked on Beach Life has been our absolute favorite place to stay to date. It is on a small, quiet street with old-growth trees that make the surroundings beautiful and is only steps away from the beach. The house is fully stocked with kitchen items, has an awesome shuffleboard game, lots of books and we could catch glimpses of both the sunrise and sunset from various vantage points in the house. Because of its close proximity to the beach, we were able to take full advantage and enjoyed many sunrise strolls and an evening of ghost crab hunting one night as well. Our family loved Hooked on Beach Life and we hope to be able to return again.

To us, this home was out of this world!! We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Hooked on Beach Life. It is thoughtfully stocked with everything you will need during your stay and beach access is so close and wonderful we didn't even use our driving permit beachside this year! We were hoping to finally make this house our home for every year we loved it so much, but the dog limit changed ☹️ That is truly the only bummer of the entire wonderful property! That and it's managed by Vacasa now 😑

This house is super close to everything in Avon and Ramp 38. Beautiful ocean view not blocked by other houses. However the walk to the beach is not long but very difficult due to steep stairs and dunes to climb. We had to go to the beach elsewhere which was disappointing due to my bad knees. But the rental was good. Nicely furnished, very clean and every kitchen item you could think of. Even a crock pot and a great Keurig. We did have a small maintenance issue which was addressed very quickly. I would recommend this house as long as the beach access isn’t a concern for you.

If you have a smaller family/group, this is a nice home. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, and the living spaces are large and comfortably furnished. The beach access is right across the street.

Great location with easy access to the beach. Overall a nicely maintained house within . Be prepared to bring your own beach gear as there was none stored at the guest for guest use.

I loved the area and the house was good. I had to request a couple of things, more towels and a new coffeemaker and they were delivered quickly.

The house is set up so nicely and has everything you need to have a relaxing stay at the beach. Quiet area with limited traffic coming through and easy walk over the dunes to the beach. Great views from the upper decks make evenings on outside great!
