The facility was awesome and the location was excellent. The only improvement that would be appreciated, is having an elevator to use for getting to the kitchen upstairs. Also to have been provided accurate codes for entrance and WiFi use.

Location right off the ocean was great! House was perfect for our family and dog. Had a problem with heat first day but guy came out within the hour to o fix. Local restaurants were great though many not open this early in season. Close to food market. Walk to ocean couldn’t be better. Top deck view was outstanding! Not too many people this early out the season.

The home immediately felt like it had been loved and treated like a home. The beautiful furniture and artwork were special. We tried to treat it as we would our own home. The hike over the dune isnt easy and we decided to skip it and drive out to beach in our Jeep. Bring your own condiments, salt and pepper and coffee as there was nothing there. Oh, and coffee filters.

I loved this home...the location, the way the home is laid out, and just how absolutely "at home" I felt staying there. All bedrooms and laundry are on the first floor and it stayed suitably a littler darker and quieter than the rest of the house there. The living area is an open kitchen, dining, and den space and it is truly spacious. Dining space at a table for 8, 4 stools at the breakfast bar, and a picnic table for overflow on the back patio. Two large sofas, 2 large armchairs, and 2 chairs in the corner in the den provide plentiful seating. A large coffee table is a perfect place to play games on rainy days. The "crow's nest" is accessible by spiral staircase and is a sweet little getaway for the grown-ups to have a little peace and quiet and privacy; plus, this is the spot where you can see the ocean over the dunes. There are two spacious and clean "Jack and Jill" bathrooms with plenty of storage space, each between two of the bedrooms, as well as a powder room conveniently located on the main floor. A large hot tub on one of the back decks was clean and functioning well. This is not a home for anyone with mobility issues with all of the stairs, and the fact that getting to the beach requires walking over dunes. There is a public access point one house over that is easier to walk than the paths right behind this home, and footwear is strongly recommended because sand spurs abound. There is a spacious outdoor (but fully enclosed) shower to rinse off when returning from the beach, which I was delighted even had decorative elements in there, too. Avon is a quiet area with enough restaurants and shops to take care of needs without it feeling hurried and crowded. We definitely intend to come back to this area and would not hesitate to return to Gray Haven.

Although there were only two of us, we can see that this house is very well set up for multiple families. We especially loved the top floor "crow's nest" room where you can see over the dunes to the ocean. Great place to have coffee and watch the sunrise. Since it was early May, we were pretty much alone on the beach. The hot tub off the second floor was wonderful - we enjoyed it very much. Kitchen was fully stocked and there were even back-up appliances is some cases. Quiet neighborhood with no through traffic! Vacasa was VERY responsive to any questions we had. Thanks again to Vacasa and to the house owners.

After 15 years of staying in another property in Avon (that switched from Vacasa to an Airbnb and nearly doubled in cost), it was tough to make a switch, but Gray Haven totally lived up to our expectations. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and well appointed. The location was great. Will definitely stay there again!

Loved the crow's nest and overall layout. Enjoyed the hot tub and upper deck. Walk to the beach was a bit challenging but understand the importance of sand dunes to protect the island. Internet was fantastic.

We trekked the 10 hours from a small little town in southeastern Kentucky and was not disappointed. The property was well maintained, the management was attentive to a lock being broken on the back deck and overall the place was beautiful. 5/5 stars!

This is a lovely home tucked away from the noise and setup well for a family vacation. Highly recommend the location. There was plenty of things to use in the kitchen and decent cookware - which is always a plus when making meals on vacation. The top floor space is incredible - it is the spot to watch sunrises and sunsets as well as just chill and read. For beach access - we found it easier to go down 50ft from the house to the public access. Those dunes are big with lots of sand spurs so its much easier on the pets and kids to use the public access path. Our stay was off season so it was even quieter than peak summer time.

The new hot tub was nice. The walk to the beach was a little hike. It was fine for us, but may not be easy for all. The house could use a couple small repairs. The kids loved the crows nest and kids bedroom. Overall, it was a nice stay.

We had a wonderful trip to Gray Haven. It's an older home, but still comfortable and felt warm and cozy to us. If you are looking for a state of the art kitchen, this is not the house for you. if you are looking for a house to relax and enjoy OBX this will be perfect. The beds were comfortable. The living space was open and welcoming. The access to the beach was a little tricky, but we found a nice staircase/board walk a few houses down that went over all the dunes. There were SO many people fishing on the beach, that was the only thing I really didn't like because we had to walk quite a while to get to a place where we could get close to the water, but that's not a reflection of the house. Prickly Pears are no joke, don't walk around without shoes or you'll be sorry. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We had a couple of VERY minor issues when we were there and VACASA responded immediately.

I really enjoyed staying at Gray Haven! The views were great of both the ocean and the soundside sunsets. The coffee table was great for working a puzzle. I thoroughly recommend Gray Haven as a place to stay for a trip to the Outer Banks!

Our family loved our winter beach getaway that this well equipped home! It had everything we needed plus a bunch of extra fun things! The closet with games and puzzles was a hit with the kids, the book selection helped each of us find a great relaxing read for our wide variety of interested, and the small addition of several laundry baskets made this mom’s laundry work much easier! The decks and crows nest room were so nice and we loved star gazing on the top deck as we bundled up under blankets! The walk to the beach was not bad at all and if you know to be prepared for the sand burs, it’s easy enough to plan shoes on for walking to the steps and boardwalk to the beach. We loved being able hear the waves from the house! It was such a comfortable, easy place to hang out!
