We enjoyed our stay at Miles Away. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed for cooking, dining, and everyday use. Fresh linens were provided, along with starter supplies such as trash bags, dishwasher pods, toilet paper, paper towels, and bar soap. The location was excellent. It is on a quiet street, just a short walk to the beach, a Dairy Queen, and a local coffee shop.
Our only issue was the check-in and check-out communication for guests arriving outside business hours. We received conflicting information regarding keyless entry versus key pickup, and it took several email exchanges to determine where to access the keys after hours. I had read reviews with Hatteras before that this could be an issue so I made sure I had a clear understanding what to do before arriving after a 15 hour drive. Adding clear instructions for after-hours arrivals and departures would make the process much smoother.
Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this property.

I'm so glad we chose this home. The price was reasonable, the location was perfect and we loved the hot tub. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The path to the beach is right across from the driveway and you can see the ocean from the main deck and crow's nest. Cons: There was dog poop on one of the decks that the cleaning crew missed. Other than that, the house was very clean. The sofa bed in the upper loft is useless. The mattress is super thin and my daughter cut her leg on a sharp edge. She ended up sleeping on the floor. We had troubles getting in the house through the front door - neither the key or code worked. Surprisingly, four of the deck doors were unlocked, which was concerning. We walked right in. Pros: I don't think I have enough space to list all the reasons why this house was great! The owner emailed me before our visit and was very nice. The neighborhood is very quiet and we met the next-door neighbors. The house is conveniently located to the Food Lion and other shops. It's beautifully decorated, light and bright, the dining table was large enough for all of us, and the kitchen is updated. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect home for family vacation and we appreciate being able to bring our dogs. Great location in Avon and easy beach access. Plenty of space to enjoy each other and comfortable beds. Great deck space and ocean views!

The location of the home was good and not a bad walk to the beach. Very quiet neighborhood and dog friendly. The kitchen was nicely stocked. My adult daughter's enjoyed reading the books the previous Owners left. The only thing we didnt care for was the spiral staircase.

We had a wonderful time at Miles Away. The location is perfect with beautiful ocean views from the decks. Tons of deck space. Awesome hot tub. Bedrooms/Bathrooms were nice and clean. Kitchen was perfect and well stocked. Great location that is close to Hatteras as well. I would highly recommend. We plan on booking again in the fall if possible.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Miles Away in Avon, North Carolina, and we can’t say enough good things about our experience. The house was absolutely beautiful and inviting, making it the perfect getaway spot. The rental process was seamless, and the property management company was extremely responsive to any questions we had, adding to the overall ease of the experience. The views from the home were simply breathtaking, and the hot tub provided the ultimate relaxation at the end of each day. Our only regret is that our time there was too short—but it’s safe to say we’ll definitely be returning! On a more personal note, Miles Away will forever hold a special place in our hearts. During our stay, I proposed to my longtime girlfriend, and we began an exciting new chapter in our lives. This beautiful home set the stage for an unforgettable weekend and the start of our engagement. We’re so grateful for the memories we made here and can’t wait to return to Miles Away for future visits. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a truly special place to stay!

This house checked all the boxes for us. The living space is well laid out and ample with the bedrooms being plenty adequate. The kitchen is functional and well-stocked. Great balance of price and quality. 10/10 would stay here again.

Miles Away is a wonderful house. It's perfect for just my wife and me for our annual January trip. The location is our favorite, Wahoo! Well equipped with comfortable furnishings. We've stayed multiple times and will be returning in 2025!

Miles Away is a place like no other. This was our second time staying there and it was better than the first. Chelsea is continuously updating the home; you can feel how much love is there. Miles Away is a very special place to our family and we hope to be back in the future!

Miles Away is easy to love. It checks all the boxes for an Outer Banks beach house. Steps away from the wonderful beach at Avon. Lots of decks on lots of levels so it seems like there are always sunny spots and shady spots. The indoor sitting areas are spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen large and well-equipped. And I have to say that Vacasa makes check-in and check-out a breeze. A great beach stay.

Miles Away is a lovely home. Every single thing in the house has been selected and executed with great care. The many decks offer terrific views with sun or shade and options for social gatherings or privacy. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bedrooms are set up to accommodate the maximum number of people and the four full bathrooms are a great plus. The only thing I would warn potential visitors about are the stairs ..The many staircases outside and the spiral staircases inside are not for very young children or anyone with disabilities, including elderly pets. Getting groceries to the top floor can be a challenge, but for us it was worth the effort. We loved our stay and hope to return.

We loved that we could bring our pup with us, made some great dinners using the gas grill, and enjoyed the hot tub a few nights when the weather got a little cooler. The home had everything we needed for cooking (but don't forget to bring your favorite spices) and we hope we are able to book again for next year!
