AVHC41 Outrigger Cottage on Hatteras Island

A Wonderful house with easy beach access a short walk away. The house is well apointed and had a well equipped kitchen. The hot tub is large and convenient to use. Overall it feels like instead of a,rental you are housesitting for someone. The house feels loved!

I really liked this house! I would give it 5 stars but we couldn't turn on the hot tub and we noticed that the cleaning crew does not clean under the sofas. But this house has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is well stocked and we loved the outside shower! It's right next to the beach and all the local restaurants. It's a beautiful home!

I apologize you couldn’t get the hot tub to turn on; our maintenance team was notified, has checked the unit, and we added an operational check to the pre‑arrival checklist. My family and I stayed here and really enjoyed the home! The house was close to the beach and had an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand when you got back. The hot tub was a nice way to end a busy day. Loved our stay!

We stayed for the weekend for our friends Wedding. Beautiful home and perfect location 5 min walk to the Beach with beautiful easy accesible walkway. Close to gas station and grocery store. Very clean. Loved the light up steps for night time access. Stayed with our.children ages 13 down to 2. No complaints.

The home was very clean and exactly what the images show. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and dishes. My family enjoyed the hot tub and the easy walking access to the beach. Great location to the shops and restaurants. It was the perfect get away.

Ocean views on top deck, wonderful hot tub on a more private screened in porch which was so nice, especially when it rained. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, good washer & dryer, nice sized streaming tvs, good wife, stone’s throw to the beach (but ask for beach access directions because there are “no trespassing” signs everywhere in the neighborhood! Great quiet neighborhood which is across the street from the Froggy Dog which has great bartenders, mai tais, spicy bloody Mary’s, great brunch & crab cakes! A couple of miles from a great food lion, Dirty Dicks & Duck Donuts. Beautiful Hatteras beach about a mile from the pier. Cottage ticks all the boxes for me!

The only complaint we have is that the bed mattresses are hard, pillows flat, and no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. But overall we loved it and would rebook this house.

We've stayed in Avon for some years, but never used Vacasa. This house was perfect for us! We stayed with my husband, two boys (under 10), and my mother in law. We all had room to ourselves and a great area to be together. The house was very clean and well stocked with towels and linens. So close to the beach, too! It was perfect! Each year we rented a deluxe cabin at the KOA, which was fine but not roomy. We decided to compare prices. We found the Outrigger for about the same price. The stay was wonderful !! Very comfortable! Thank you!

Outrigger never fails to make our vacations in Avon exceptional. We are greeted with a beautifully decorated and cozy cottage each time we visit. It is always immaculate, well equipped, and perfectly located. I couldn’t pick a better vacation rental to call our home for a few weeks each year!

This little gem was a perfect place to stay. It is far enough away from the chaos with everything you need close by. It has easy beach access a couple houses down. The house was very clean and so was the hot tub. Thank you so much for sharing your home, we would definitely stay here again. Vacasa was very friendly and easy to work with.

The owners constantly update and care for this home. This year, we enjoyed a beassutiful remodeled kitchen which is always well stocked. They even had a kitchenaid mixer, crockpot and griddle avaliable! The new TVs in every room with detailed directions for generous cable and streaming options were very nice for the one day that wasn't ideal beach weather. If feels like our home away from home.

Great place to stay, the beach access is quite rough compared to other places I stayed but the house was so amazingly comfy it was worth it. The only other thing is the porch up top, the railings are not secure and one was completely out. I have a toddler. He could have easily fallen through that. That needs to be fixed. Everything else was great though.

Clean house with a newer feel. Not a bad place to stay if you don’t mind driving to larger “more to do areas”. Short walk to the beach.

Wow. We absolutely LOVED this house. The house itself is very clean and comfortable, with a very efficient AC. It is also very well located, a supermarket, stores, cafes and restaurants being just a short drive away. Loved the space, furniture, and kitchen equipment available. Unfortunately, the hot tub was cool in the evening and we couldn't get in. The most unfortunate part is out of the control of anyone, the winds were ridiculous the entire stay😔

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December with out 13 year old daughter. The house was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We also enjoyed the kitchen, which was stocked with plenty of cooking ware and spices. This is just what we needed for a quiet little winter getaway!

The house was well appointed. Not a lot of flea market crap strewn throughout the house as some other rentals have. The hot tub works. Knives were sharp, plenty of dishes, silverware, pots and pans.

The only real drawback to this home is no access to the beach. Had to load up and drive to get to the beach. The house was very clean and comfortable as well as being well equipped.

We really enjoyed our late April week in the Outrigger. It's a bright and cheerful home with a personal feel that suggests use by the owner. The large kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. Location is excellent for those wanting easy walking access to the ocean-side beach. We encountered a couple of minor issues that were quickly resolved. All around great experience. Will rent again next time we are in Avon.
