Set on Avon's pristine north end and accessible only by bridge, Island Creek Resort offers over 1,000 feet of shallow sound-front access. Windsurfers, kite surfers, kayakers, and kids will love this ultra-friendly location, where miles of open Pamlico Sound facilitate launching, fishing, exploring, relaxing, or just horsing around in the water. This stilted home features a two-story layout with a raised, first floor featuring a wraparound deck and a common area with a TV and daybed. The second floor serves as the primary living space featuring an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area with vaulted ceilings and strong natural lighting. A second wraparound deck is furnished with Adirondack chairs and an outdoor picnic/dining table. You'll find everything you need for family-style cooking in the full kitchen and ample seating options including a ten-seater banquet dining table, four-person dinette, and an island breakfast counter with four barstools. The primary suite features direct deck access and an en suite bathroom. The fireplace is not available for guest use. The boat ramp and docks handle small boats and personal watercraft. Great space, beautiful view of the sound. Interior was clean and comfortable. Convenient location for beach access and local amenities. Enough communal space and bathrooms for multiple couples/families.

Waterfront corner property -- 180 degree view of the water. dock to launch your watercraft, large lawn to spread out your water toys. responsive group (e.g. fixed our dishwasher day of). If you want the crowds, stay in Kittyhawk. If not, then come here.

My twins and I needed time away from so much stress, this home was perfect! The views of the sound were amazing! We got to experience a heavy storm (which we love) and of course the house stayed sound. The people at Vacasa were so friendly and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and happy. When we got back home, my girls said they felt so refreshed and stress free and ready to get back to classes, which is exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much Vacasa!

The house is right on the water and has a grass yard between the house and the water. Sunsets are beautiful. The house was clean, and all the appliances worked just fine. The kitchen utensils, plateware, pots, pans, etc. were completely satisfactory.

Fantastic views and short walk to the beach. A water sports playground in secluded community setting. Well stocked kitchen - Ninja, lots of pots and pans and any utensil you can think of. Mattress topper on King bed was super comfortable. Lots of common areas to walk you furry friend. Short drive to many restaurants.

What made this house our favorite is the backyard fishing and kayaking and unbelievable sunset view and ten-minute walk to the beach or 5 minute drive to the pier for easy beach access with plentiful parking. We loved the open floor plan and beautiful wraparound decks with spectacular water views. We will definitely return to Island Thunder.

This home was great for our water loving family. Windsurfing, paddleboarding and fishing right in your backyard. The views are incredible. The house needs a few minor things, but we would definitely stay again.

These homes have gorgeous views and are a great location for water sports. They are located right on the sound and they have a little lawn in front of the water to spread out the equipment and launch comfortably. The homes are little older but are kept well. Definitely in a shabby-chic category, but having all the amenities, from jacuzzi, multistory decks to communal swimming pool. I go there every year.

Very nice place with wonderfull view. Beds are comfortable. Nice adirondac chairs on the balcons. Wi-Fi is soso. You get about everything you need in the Kitchen but the knifes need to be sharpened. Just missing a gas BBQ.

The views were spectacular! All bedrooms and the top level had views of the sound. Home was spotless. Vacasa was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Furniture was comfortable and house was spacious.

The house was in a perfect location for kite surfing and paddle boarding. Even though it is pet friendly, it was well maintained. My only negative would be the pots/pans. The saute pans were a large size but because they were aluminum, had warped due to excessively high heat. Did not make it easy to use when cooking.

The sunset views (West) from the home are fabulous. To the North all you see is the national seashore without housing. The location allows for easy access to the Pamlico sound for windsurfing, kiting, kayaking, etc. The oceanside beach is only a 2 blocks walk. Very quiet unless to wind is blowing and then everyone is out playin on the sound. I have stayed here before the house has had several cosmetic interior upgrades which were appreciated.

Our family loves this location because of the proximity to the sound and the fun water sports. We have 3 kids and it is stress free water fun. BUT the ocean is just a quick ride away.

Great location and arrived to a very clean and well-prepared home. The great room upstairs was even bigger in person than it looked in pics and loved the house’s layout. Very comfortable for 8 of us (three being smaller kids). Kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking. Had to call maintenance for a minor electrical issue and they were there to fix it the next day.

This property is ideally located for windsurfing/ kiting. Lovely large living area with views of the sound. My only complaint is that the kitchen was not as well equipped as other properties I have rented.

Loved the panoramic view of the sound. The lapping of the sound that you heard while sitting on the deck. Gorgeous front row seats to the sunset. The house was a perfect size for the five of us. Spacious living room and kitchen. Easy walk to the ocean. Kayak rental place within walking distance just over the bridge. Great place to stay with the dogs. They could hop right into the water.
