AVKS113 Woodwinds #3-11

We have rented this house since 2005. New owners took over in 2010 and have been wonderful to work with. Love the lay out of the house, location close to Food Lion and everything about the house. Plenty of pool and deck furniture. Three masters with ensuites, three great bedrooms for kids. Plenty of space to spread out and not be on top of each other!

This house seems to have everything you’d need, especially in the kitchen. Just look around and you’ll find whatever it is you need. As far as outside, a little shade around the pool area would be nice. Maybe a “sail” or a pergola type setting with a cover at the end by the driveway. There was just no relief unless you were in the water or in the house. Bedrooms were very comfortable. The house is spacious enough for having so many bedrooms. It’s not like you are right on top of each other. There is plenty of space to find your own “spot”. All in all we had a terrific visit to OBX. We came from TX, MD, and NY for a small reunion and we all had a wonderful time. A very easy walk to the beach too. But be sure to wear some sort of shoe on the beach because that sand is scorching hot. Can’t wait to return!

The kitchen had EVERYTHING needed for meals, snacks and cocktails. Even thoughtful extras (think shrimp cleaners). Plenty of baby/toddler gear that made traveling super easy. Loved the pool and tiki bar as well!

This was our first time in Avon NC. It was a great choice for Outer Banks. We enjoyed our stay at Woodwinds. The house had a great layout and plenty of room for our entire family. It was nice to have everyone spread out. The kitchen was well stocked. Loved the multi levels of decking. We spent a lot of time in the pool especially since we had little ones with us. The pool company was super attentive when we called about cleaning it. They arrived within 30 minutes. We loved the hot tub at night even though it was warm. Easy ten minute walk to the ocean. Lots of good restaurants in the area and the grocery store was a 4 minute drive. Super convenient to have a lower level fridge for extra space. The owners were easy to communicate with and quick to respond to messages.

Overall wonderful stay, Property and area were perfect. Biggest complaint is that the appeal for our group was the play room for the little ones. The playroom has been locked is no longer available for guest. This was extremely disappointing. Listing needs to be updated. There were a few plumbing issues, but they were resolved timely by property management. Lastly, cleaning crew did not thoroughly go through things prior to arrival. Two rooms had clothing left in dresser from previous occupants. Overall, great experience!

Very nice house. Linens and sheets was a very appreciated touch. Wish there had been a diagram of rooms ahead of time. It would have assisted in assigning our family to rooms. We knew what they looked like but proximity of rooms to kids is a consideration for us. We were not sure where to go to the beach but finally figured out a place that allowed parking. Everything else was great!!!

The house was perfect size for our family of 10 and the location is perfect as well. You can’t go wrong with an OBX house that has a pool and a hot tub AND is close to grocery shopping. Couldn’t ask for a better set up.

Our stay at Woodwinds was wonderful, we could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house is everything as you see in the photos. It was so enjoyable sitting out on the deck with the morning cup of coffee, so peaceful. The rooms are spacious and perfect for a family gathering. It has a fully stocked kitchen, with all the comforts of home. The rooms were immaculate the decorations throughout gives the home a very welcoming feeling. The home has lots fun family games and movies to enjoy. It is well equipped for small infants to teenagers. The owners were very helpful, they gave us a lot of good information to make a trip special. This was our first time in the Outerbanks and we loved Avon. It is a quiet town, with close beaches. The beaches are beautiful, Frisco beach was my favorite. We enjoyed watching the dolphins from the beach, they were amazing and were present all day. I would recommend the beach driving pass which was fun and convenient. We enjoyed the lighthouse, and a day in Kittyhawk to visit the sand dunes, and Wright Brothers Museum. The night dolphin cruise was fun. I would highly recommend this home to friends and family. It was truly a great stay!

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. September is one of the best kept secrets as there are fewer vacationers and the ocean temperatures are still very warm. The fall season is also a great time to view dolphins from the beach. Hatteras island offers a variety of different beaches; each one unique in its' own way. I am glad you and your family had an opportunity to experience all that the town of Avon and surrounding communities have to offer. We look forward to your staying with us again in the future

We just returned home from Woodwinds. The home was absolutely everything we could have asked for! Beautifully maintained and furnished with everything one could ask for. Only thing our teens could find wrong was that lower level TVs didn't have complete range of cable channels. Neighborhood beautiful with close walk to beach and stores. Year round neighbors fantastic when we needed an emergency vet! Wish we were still there!

Thanks for the feedback about the downstairs TV's. We will look into the channel access issue. We really strive to keep our home hassle free. One of the many benefits of our location is that there are a number of local folks who reside in our sub-division year round. These folks are extremely friendly and helpful; just about the best neighbors you could ask for! You had mentioned needing the services of a vet, I hope that you dog is well. We are animal lovers, as you might have guessed, by the pet supplies and toys located in the pet box downstairs. Hopefully your pet recovered quickly and was able to enjoy sunning on the upper deck and frolicking on the beach. Thanks again for choosing Woodwinds. This is our family's fourth time to stay in Woodwinds. The house is well maintained and well equiped with items needed for a relaxing and restful vacation. The location is terrific. We could walk to the beach, access the sound to go kayaking, and walk to the Food Lion. We like the fact that there are three master bedrooms, only the kids have to share bathrooms!

Woodwinds was a summer house that has everything one could want in a vacation home. The inside of the house is decorated beautifully and it was very clean! You never felt that you were in a rental home and the kitchen belongings were high quality! The kids had so much to do that they were always busy and happy. The house has a well kept pool, games, tv's and modern conveniences and books to read. The location is perfect if you like to walk to the store or beach! You can't help but relax when you are there. We highly recommend this rental and will go back again soon! The restaurants in town were tasty but cooking at the house was just as satisfying! The owner and management were professional and we had no problems in any way! The area is perfect for kiting, boating, beach, hikes, bikes and fun. The lighthouse is a must see! ENJOY!

This was our first time doing anything like this. We are so happy we did. The house was just what we needed in many ways. Just enought bedroom, very well equipted kitchen, loved the washer & dryer. The toy room was a surprise ( we had a 2 year old with us) He spent a lot of time there. He called it his room! There were many hours spent in the pool but walking distance to the beach was nice too. Local food stores near by along with good resturants. The area of Avon was great with very pleasant people. This was in a very quiet neighborhood. The kids all had bikes and we felt good about letting them go with out an adult. There was 14 of us and we all had plenty of space. The decor was very pleasing to the feel of the ocean theme. Saying goodby on Saturday morning was hard to do. We loved this home and would consider coming back again.
