The house looked spacious in pictures but somehow was even more spacious when we arrived! We loved the little TV room off of the living room upstairs; it was perfect for the kids to watch something different than the adults or to go watch TV when others were chatting it up in the big living room. Plenty of room for our group. Lots of puzzles, games, books provided. Is a quick walk to the beach. The beach was not crowded and was very peaceful and private. Loved being able to see the sunset and sunrise from the windows. The back deck was my favorite spot in the house! Would absolutely return.

Journey's End was a fantastic place for my friends and I to spend a week in Avon. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was clean, the hot tub and outside shower were nice. The only problem we had was with the WiFi but that was immediately taken care of by Vacasa. I would stay there again.

This house is an absolute gem! Hands down the best we ever rented in the Outer Banks. Our congratulations to the owners who obviously put in a lot of love into making this a house such a wonderful vacation home. You will find 4 very comfortable rooms on the first level, and a huge, well appointed living area on the top level, with a balcony that offers breathtaking sunrises (and moonrises). The beach is only a short walk away and the spa provided a fun ending to our days. This is a perfect place for up to 9 people. You won't be stepping on each other's toes. As a bonus, there is a supermarket and several eateries within walking distance. More eateries and shops are only a few minutes away by car. Location couldn't better. The only negative is Vacasa's customer service. If you need to get a hold of them, you will need a lot of patience. On our first attempt to reach them, just prior to the trip, it was an hour before we got a human on the line (who was helpful). On our second call, we gave up after 45 minutes of being told "your call is important to us". While the property is fantastic, the property manager needs to up its game. Bottom line, do we go back? Heck yes!!! Huge Thank You to the owners for a great stay.

I’m sorry for the long hold times you experienced with Vacasa’s customer service; We are happy to share the home is now managed by a locally owned and operated company and hope to avoid issues like this in the future in regards to responsiveness . The house was amazing. It was the perfect space for our two families. We loved the two separate, but open living rooms and tables around the space. It allowed our kids to have their own fun while the adults got some peace. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We never felt crowded. The beds were good for a rental unit and the spaces were all clean. The house is only a 6 minute drive to the pool, a 3 minute drive to the closest grocery store/shopping center, and a half block away from the community beach access. We would definitely book again if we planned to stay in Avon!

This is a very nice home to stay in. Despite being one row back you can see the ocean from the deck and loving area. You will need to walk about 100' to the nearest public boardwalk to access the beach, but it is a slight inconvenience. The amenities meet our needs and the home is very comfortable with plenty of seating and a good kitchen and bonus bar area to store drinks. The only negative that some people might find is the lack of a master bath. The two queen bedrooms are fine, but they do share a bathroom.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect - close the the beach, grocery stores, and restaurants. The home was lovely and comfortable. We wish the two master suites didn't share a jack and jill bathroom and that beach towels were provided, but otherwise we really liked the house.

We did enjoyed the simple, convenient, relaxing area. Access to the beach was convenient, but there is no way to access the beach in walking distance without using steps.Which with a two year old is key information. The private hot tub is nice but there is no bug lights or citronella candles provided so at night the mosquito was unbearable.

We enjoy this home w bedroom options suiting tall kids (instead of double bunk room), puzzle table as well as two bar seating areas and adjacent side room for common space.

This house was perfect for our family of 7! It was a short 3 minute walk to the beach and is super close to a grocery store and some other shops. Loved the location.

We have enjoyed this home for two years now. The bed layout works well for out 6' tall kids when so many other places have bunks and singles that r uncomfortable to them. The home could use some general updates but we really love the deck furniture, stocked kitchen, good AC / washer dryer and bar / table spaces. Hope the price doesn't go way up w new owners since the home is in the market now!

Location is great close to beach, shopping the bay. The location appeared fairly clean but it appears some of us have been bitten by bugs (doctor believes bed bugs). None of use had them so we didn’t bring them and we washed and sterilized everything once we received word. We attempted to contact the property managers left message with customer service but haven’t received any feedback yet to see if they investigated further so we can be 100 percent certain and hopefully the next guests don’t have this issue.

Great views conveniently located in the heart of AVON close to shopping and dining. Hot tub worked perfectly amazing views of the ocean and just 1 block walk to beach access. Everything was as described and spot on. Cleanliness would have been a 5 but when we arrived there were greasy handprints on the sliding glass door to the top porch and 2 dirty frying pans above the oven hood. ( previous tenants) I clean rental property as a side job I know how stressful housekeeping can be and trying to be prepared for a back to back rental. Overall very pleased with rental,process, and location.

Location is great with the boardwalk to the beach just a few houses up the road. Lovely views of the ocean from the deck. House was neat as a pin when we arrived. Loved the space of the upper floor. Perfect for our family of eight!
