The ocean and sound views from the East and South-facing deck are spectacular. The ground level has ample parking, outside showers and fish cleaning bench. The first living level has four comfortable, well furnished bedrooms and two full baths. The second living level is open to the beauties of the sound and sea from all living, dining, and deck areas. The well equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area have great views of the ocean. SHORE THING is equipped with games, books, and videos to keep the evenings as wonderful as the beautiful Avon Beach days.

House was roomy and comfortable with a great deck and boardwalk to the beach directly across the street. Large TV in the living room and 2 in bedrooms. Plenty of plates and glasses, etc.

I love the watching the sunrise every morning from the balcony and the closeness of the beach access. Could've been better with out sand spurs in the bedding carpet and furniture. Overall though it's a great home.

Perfect Vacay Home

This was our 9th year in Avon, and our first time in this house. It met all our needs, had FANTASTIC AC and was so close to the beach it made coming and going all day long easy. Hoping to book again for summer 2025!!!

This was our second stay and we enjoyed it again! Great access to the beach and the sound. Conveniently located near food lion and shops. Comfortable home with all of the necessities you need to cook and clean up. Fun board games as well. Book this stay and you won’t regret it!

My family has been going to the outer banks for 24 years. We have stayed in shore thing many times during those years and have never been disappointed. It's a lovely home and great location. This was my first time using Vacasa and it was a great experience. Booking was easy, staff was very helpful and very pleasant. I will definately use them again

The house was great. It was spacious, relaxing and we loved the balcony/ deck. We sat on there in the morning enjoying coffee and then the evenings and night to enjoy the ocean. The night sky was also wonderful. The place was clean! Definitely got our steps in from climbing the stairs a lot, however totally worth it. What would make this place better? Glad you asked, although close to the beach enough to see, smell and hear, being on the beach would do it!

The house is stocked with every creature comfort from all the board games you've ever wanted to play to a kitchen for making up a feast. Two issues, the motion lights over the showers and cleaning station don't work properly and we had zero clean towels/cloths. We had to go pick some up from Vacasa.

We had a wonderful stay. Very relaxing. House was perfect for our group. Beautiful deck with ocean views. Just steps away to beach access. We'll maintained house comfortable beds. We will be coming back.

This is our 12th summer enjoying the beaches in Avon but our first stay at shore thing. We very much enjoyed our stay. Lord willing we’ll be back again next year.

Shore Thing was a pleasant surprise. Very close to the beach access and very comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well-equipped (although with 8 people, another large sauté pan would have helped). We loved the beach details without being too kitschy. The 2 outside showers and the bins for chairs, etc. were a great idea!

Close to the beach. Well stocked kitchen. Very large family area. Deck was perfect with lots of chairs. Cool breeze while sitting on the deck. Very quiet neighborhood with grocery store and restaurants nearby. We were there over Memorial Day and the beach in front of the house was never crowded.

Climbing stairs got a little old! Other than that, the house was clean, adequate supplies, close to beach. Closet of games and books was very nice! Good set up for families. Nice view of the ocean from the deck; neighborhood was quiet. Close to stores and restaurants. Would stay here again.

The very short walk to the beach! I was pleasantly surprised about the ample supply of cookware and utensils, dishes and all in great shape . What I was most happy with was how clean the house was! We have stayed in OBX for over 35 years always getting houses some big some small depending on how many people were coming so the cleanliness of the house was surprising . I know times are challenging for all businesses due to being short staffed and when a company is doing a good job it should be recognized in addition their staff should be recognized for a job well done . Thanks

The very short walk to the beach! I was pleasantly surprised about the ample supply of cookware and utensils, dishes and all in great shape . What I was most happy with was how clean the house was! We have stayed in OBX for over 35 years always getting houses some big some small depending on how many people were coming so the cleanliness of the house was surprising . I know times are challenging for all businesses due to being short staffed and when a company is doing a good job it should be recognized in addition their staff should be recognized for a job well done . Thanks

Plus you could see the ocean from the balcony. The house was clean, comfortable and organized. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware and the grocery store was only a short walk away. There were board games so you didn't have to depend on the internet for entertainment. However, if that's your thing the wi-fi was flawless. Everything worked from lights to TVs and everyone said their beds were comfortable. There were enough linens for our three day stay. Actually the fact that we did not book longer was our only complaint. Vacasa was a pleasure to work with, providing valuable information and support every step of the way. I will definitely book with them again. Overall a wonderful experience!
