AVKS24 Fiddlesticks #4-2

Great location, great size and layout, we were very happy with how spacious the living area and loft was for the kids to play in. House definitely needs some TLC though. Some boards on the walkway to the beach were prying up, one broke when I stepped on it. Bunch of nails on the railing and posts were coming out and not safe for kids or adults really. Dryer only worked sometimes, clotheslines were old and broke as soon as I put on my first wet towel, screen on the sliding door was ripped. Some of these things are minor sure but when you pay this much you don’t want minor nuisances. A few hours of TLC with one man and small tool belt could fix it all and make it a grade A spot

We have been staying in fiddlesticks for 15 years to say that we love this house and the location is an understatement. I’m sure if you book this place you will love it as much as we do.

This was the third year in a row that my family and I have spent a week at Fiddlesticks in Avon NC. We loved the entire experience and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Fiddlesticks is in the heart of Avon and we appreciate the close proximity to all the shopping conveniences in the area which saves time and energy when needing a quick item at the local Food Lion. Fiddlesticks, has all the amenities a family needs for fun in the sun. In fact, we are planning to stay at Fiddlesticks next August 2026 and we are planning to stay two weeks this time because we had such a good time in 2025. The only suggestion I have for the owners would be to replace or remove the outside grill because it is in such bad shape (rusty and dirty) that cooking food on the grill would be risky. I hope and pray for all the vacation owners, residents, and businesses on Hatteras Island that they do not sustain any substantial damage and beach erosion from Hurricane Erin. The place was great. The only issue was the ants on the kitchen counters. One good interior and exterior spray with Taurus (Fipronil) every 3-6 months and the problem will be solved. Other than that, it was great.

We've stayed at Fiddlesticks a handful of times over the past several years and we really like the layout of the house, especially the top deck on the soundside. The house has just about all the amenities you would need for a weeks stay. The overall cleanliness of the house was average, the carpets needing a thorough vacuum. Beds are comfortable. We really liked the new deck furniture as well. The only concern we had is when we got a heavy downpour of rain the one day, and water leaked through the bottome of the patio deck sliding doors causing a large amount of water to puddle in the dinning room floor, which then leaked to the below bedrooms carpet. I hope property management finds a way to either stop the water from leaking through or what I believe is going to need to happen is getting new patio doors for both dinning room and living room. We also saw some water coming from the ceiling in the bedroom below the living room as well but we couldn't see any water from the living room doors coming in. We hope these water problems get fixed asap or we fear the damage to the floors and carpets below will really cause some issues in the future. We love staying at this house and we hope to be able to stay here again in the near future.

I’m sorry the cleanliness and carpeting fell short of expectations — that’s not the standard we aim for. Housekeeping has been notified and will perform a deep clean before next occupancy . We apologize about the water intrusion during the heavy rain. We opened a maintenance ticket and scheduled an inspection of the patio doors, thresholds, flashing and a vendor is addressing. Great kitchen! Plenty of counter space, love the beverage fridge, a real plus! Good variety of pots and pans. The bathrooms are all more updated, very nice. This is a house we would definitely come back to.

We were so impressed that Vacasa had prepared Fiddlesticks so beautifully for us. Might sound strange to say, but the beds were even made and the towels laid out for us. This meant a lot after driving 12 hours from Ohio to get there. I can’t say enough about how impressed our whole group was. Thanks Vacasa for making our vacation so memorable.

Comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. With minor exceptions, very well equipped and maintained. There was an issue with ants that needs some attention - but it’s something that should be easy to remedy

This house was in the perfect location. Ocean front with beautiful views and easy access. The beach was uncrowded and it honestly felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The house was fun. The first thing the grandkids said was "This place is like a great big maze!" Stairs cases and decks everywhere. The great room was very spacious with a very large dining table. The kitchen was well equipped and had several pots large enough to do a seafood boil. The beverage refrigerator was a nice plus. The 3 out door showers were handy. There were very few issues and they were handled quickly by effienct and friendly maintenance staff. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time at this house. Plenty of room. Good showers. The beds were decent. Deck space was really great and the views from them were outstanding. The top floor AC units underperformed each day, not being able to keep up with the heat but, was not a major problem. House did have some small red ants which were not a problem after getting some Terro. This house as lots of steps and if you are with older people or folks with limited mobility, it will be a challenge. This is NOT uncommon for oceanfront homes. As a family, we enjoyed this home.

The house has a pretty view of the ocean and is not far from the beach. The decor is nice, the kitchen is well stocked and the house is comfortable. The bathrooms have been nicely renovated, and the washer/dryer work well. We enjoyed our stay.
