Description

Vacation stays don't get any finer than at SUN DAZE. This two-story oceanview home is directly across from the boardwalk in exclusive Kinnakeet Shores - which permits a very short walk to the ocean. The ground level has ample parking, two carports, hot and cold outside shower and foot wash station. Enjoy the large, private in-ground pool late into the evening with plenty of warmth provided by the setting sun. Head upstairs to the first living level with two ocean-view bedrooms that share a full bath and have access to a covered deck with soothing hot tub. Comfortably furnished bedrooms three and four have easy access to the hall bath & laundry area. The large second -evel cedar wood lined great room has a 1/2 bath, tall ceilings & plenty of glass to catch all views of sun & sea. The all-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar & formal dining area for handling all entertainment chores with ease. At day's end happy vacationers will settle into the warm resort furnishings, gather around the entertainment center, catch some refreshment at the wet bar or crash on a furnished ocean facing sundeck. Check in and out was extremely easy, staff was very polite and attentive to needs. House was perfect for our needs. The location was great with easy beach access. Pool and hot tub were a great touch and very enjoyable

the property was great house was great right across from beach house was well equipped hot tub and pool were fabulous it took some time to get used to the main living room tv with the lg channels could have been operator error it would have been nice if the dumbwaiter trolley worked carry groceries up was not fun but other than that an awesome week

My family of 6 had a wonderful stay here! The hot tub and pool were both lovely additions, hot tub stayed nice and hot and both were clean. Location is perfect, very easy walk to the beach right across the street. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking with plenty of appliances, dishes and cookware. The house is a great size for a group and we enjoyed all the thoughtful touches- books, puzzles and games, and plenty of extras. We’ll stay again, thanks!

They would tell you that this house has brought joy to many people. It might not be the most up to date, or the most flashy but it has a special character to it that just makes you relax. We very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back. Great location central to avon, and close to a lot of the the ORV ramps. Cant say enough good things. This was our first OBX trip, and we plan to return.

We had 6 people staying at the house. We loved everything about it. Great views, easy beach access. Close to the food Lion. House is well equipped with dishes and cooking needs. Pet friendly out dog loved the walks on the beach. We will be back

This is our 3rd year staying at this home the location is everything with the bonus of a pool and hot tub ! The view is beautiful house is a little out dated but we still enjoy it! And it’s perfect for a furry member.

The location was excellent with beach access directly in front of the house across a quiet street. The house itself was very clean and full of great amenities, especially the hot tub! The temperature of the tub was perfect! The kitchen had everything you could want to cook and create a tasty meal in terms of utensils, pots and pans. One note though, there were no spices or anything like that so plan to bring all your own. The kitchen has a regular coffee maker as well as a keurig - very convenient. The beds were decently comfortable and the linen service made things very easy! The bathrooms were clean and water pressure was adequate. The outside shower stall was roomy and clean as well. The views from the top level and even the bedroom level were fine. You could enjoy a lovely sunset from the top deck in back. You have a partial but decent view of the ocean for sunrises but easy enough to get to the beach with your coffee for it. We didn’t use the pool as it was after the summer season so no big deal. The stairs, as with any/all beach houses were numerous but we got our exercise that way. There is an outside elevator but it was locked and not for our use. Assume it only for the owner’s private use to haul groceries and suitcases up to the upper floors. This would have been ideal if we could have had access to it. All in all, a great house and a great trip!

Good house close to beach on quiet road. The beach access directly in front of the house. Hot tub was broken though and despite Vacasa customer service via phone and email telling me someone would contact me/fix it, no one ever called me back or came out. They did refund me for the lost amenity though at check out when I physically went to the office.

This location is perfect for families. We would definitely rent again as it suited so many of our needs! Lots of great safety features for those with young kids and very family friendly! But, the outside has lots of trash around and completely overgrown. You could not step off the driveway and definitely couldn't let a dog out to use the restroom. It definitely needs cleaned up of lots of trash, pressure washed decks, and the landscape maintained outside. It is super close to the beach with a very short walk and outside shower to clean off, plus a nice pool to play in. The pool really needs maintained twice during the stay, Mid week is was looking pretty rough. The house is pretty dated, but well stocked and the inside was very clean. The only complaint with inside cleanliness is the filters and vents are completely coated with dust blowing out of them all. They could all use a good cleaning and dusting. The kitchen has anything you could possibly need to cook at home, which was a huge plus. The TVs ports are going bad and pretty old, would have been nice to have at least one bigger one in the living room. Overall we really did love our stay, we were just very disappointed on how bad the outdoor areas were and the filters/vents being so dirty, which can easily be addressed.

We had a lovely time in Avon! The house was beautiful, and fully stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay for a week, such as coffee maker, keurig, bullet blender, Wii, puzzles, board games and more. Unfortunately our stay was during a rain storm for most of the time, but we had a lovely time using the hot tub and looking out towards the ocean. The pool was amazing and entertained us for hours. The house was a very very short walk to the ocean, and actually much closer than a house we stayed at last year that was right on the beach, but was closer because we didn't have to cross a huge sand dune. There is a boardwalk right across from the house that gave us easy access to the beach. The only recommendation for this house is to add smart TVs. Since we were there during a rain storm, it would have been great to log onto our Netflix accounts, but since we didn't have smart TVs, we ended up renting from the Redbox. We had such a lovely time and would absolutely stay there again. Thank you so much to the owners. I took my dog for a walk on a clear day and ended up meeting someone who knew the owners and said such wonderfully kind things about them. So, thank you for giving my little family some wonderful memories.

So nothing was technically "wrong" with the house, just seems like it could use some updates from years of being a vacation home. Had a great location, good views of the beach and ocean but like a couple of the sliding doors were a pain to open and close, a couple of the chairs around the pool were cracking, the front door latched a little weird like it was loose, the chairs around the table need a good gluing to keep from falling apart. Just pretty normal wear and tear that needs addressed.

We enjoyed our stay. This house was very clean and convenient to beach, groceries, things to do. My only exception is that the hot tub had wayyy to much chlorine in it, didn’t heat well.

I have to say I booked this place in haste last minute and then was concerned with some of the reviews I read. However, this place was perfect for our little family and labradoodle. The beach access is directly across the street., so it could not have been more conveniently located. You can sit on the balcony and see/hear the ocean. The house was very clean for our arrival and had everything we needed at our fingertips. We ate most meals at the house and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. We also loved the library and found a few books to enjoy on our two days of inclement weather. There were also some fun games for us to play as a family one rainy day. We had an issue with a broken pipe outside shortly after we arrived. It was quite windy and an unsecured chair was blown into it, spewing water everywhere. However, a quick call to Vacasa and they arrived to shut down the water on Easter Sunday. We were only without water overnight and the plumber arrived first thing the next morning to make the repair. The only concern I had was that no one ever arrived to clean the pool or hot tub that week. Someone was at the house all day, every day and we never saw anyone. The water in the pool was quite dirty from all of the wind blowing debris earlier in the week. That would be the only concern I would have for someone renting. Our oldest son ended up with a pretty bad case of folliculitis after using the hot tub a few times, so not sure that a once a week service of the hot tub is sufficient. Otherwise, I would highly recommend Sun Daze for families of similar size to ours.

We really liked our stay overall!!! Good size and space for everyone to have their own area. The cleaning left something to be desired. Could have done a much better job but otherwise good. Very short walk to the beach and nice to have the pool and hot tub available!

Located across the street from the ocean and a public access walkway. The view from the upper deck was great, the house was comfortable, met our needs but a bit dated. Experienced some maintenance issues throughout the week of our stay.
