Description

After a long day at the beach, vacationers in the know will accept nothing less than the CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS. This large oceanfront home spans a prime Kinnakeet Shores lot and provides first class accommodations for the Captain and Crew. The ground level has a large parking area and fish cleaning station. The first level has four large bedrooms and 2 baths. kingids will appreciate the bunk room with TV/DVD. The second level great room has rich furnishings, high cathedral ceilings, fragrant wood accents, and windows with super oceanfront views. The large kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area are designed to make dinners a breeze. A large oceanfront master bedroom with bath and privacy deck allow the Captain and First Mate commanding views. Private hot tub room with TV provides outstanding ocean and sound views. Try the CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS for a beautiful cruise.

We keep returning back to this house because it feels like a summer home to us! It’s located in the perfect sleepy beach town of Outer Banks. The house is directly on the beach, so access is amazing for families. We appreciate that the house is fully stocked with everything to make it feel like our home for the weekend. There’s plenty of room!!

The home was beautiful and cozy. Great for large families. My only complaints would be that 3 of the doors would not lock at all. The WiFi only worked in some areas and the beds were very hard. But the home itself was very well decorated and updated.

We had a great stay at this house. Loved that it was close to the beach, not too crowded. It was also nice that it was near the end of a not so busy street. Outdoor shower and outdoor water faucets at every level were nice and handy. It also has great view.

The property was great, would highly recommend! Great views, an elevator to move luggage, groceries, etc. without having to lug up multiple flights of stairs, and easy beach access. The only minor issue we had all week was the WIFI was spotty throughout the week.

Our family spent a week at Captains Quarters and could not be happier. The home is well maintained with anything you might need to enjoy a week at the beach. The beach access was a huge win with a few steps directly onto the beach. The views from all the porches were incredible! We love that our family had room to spread out but also a common space large enough for us all to connect. We already booked for next year!

Had a wonderful stay. The house is right on the beach, and you can see the ocean and the stars at night and witnessed some awesome thunder storms as well- very cool. Lots of windows, nice deck, comfortable furniture and beds. The house could use a bit of updating, but that did not bother us at all. The only thing about the actual house that did both us was that the Wifi was open (no password) and my wife had to work the first week so it was not secure. We asked them to fix it and they did not. Vacasa has an issue with having the wrong door codes every time we have used them and after traveling for 20 hours to get there late at night, it was not amusing the second time. Location of the house was perfect- right across from Food Lion, etc but the beach was very secluded and quiet. Also loved being in south Avon since Hatteras was 5 minutes away. The only thing I did not like about the location was that the beach has a steeper slope in that area and as a result, the waves dump right onto the sand, making boogie boarding, surfing or body surfing impossible unless you like being slammed on hard sand. Being a big fan of body surfing, we had to drive to another beach to do that. I would definitely recommend the house though.

This home was offered the space for an ideal vacation if you like the feel of truly getting away from all things commercial while still have conveniences nearby. We had a beautiful beachfront just steps away to the dune, ocean views and sunrises from the deck, plenty of open living space, a fully stocked kitchen, and the conveniences of local coffee shops, a grocery store, local restaurants, and yet close enough to explore the history at state and national parks as a day trip during the week. There were no beach chairs, umbrellas or boogie boards at the house but we had rented some along with bikes to enjoy during our week which made it possible to spend all day on the beach without too much sun and allowed us to get up to the Avon pier or down to a public access beach on the sound side to watch the beautiful sunset. Highly recommend this home and we would be back in a heartbeat again for the same week next year except it is already booked :( We will have to adjust our travels, I guess because it was that great for our family of 7 - all of whom were adults.

We have rented many beachfront houses in Avon, but when I saw the words "luggage lift" on the description I was sold. Carrying luggage and household goods up 3 flights of stairs is usually exhausting! Thank you so much! The views were SPECTACULAR. The beach is a little eroded at this particular spot, but I spent most of my time on the deck with my feet on the railing. We were so lucky the weather was perfect all week . . . sunny every day and mid 70's. Plus . . . and a big plus for my husband, is the fact that so many houses now have streaming only tv but this one said cable and it did not lie (like so many others have) so we were able to get live tv, news, shows he wanted, and everything. I know you do not come to the beach for that but it was especially refreshing to not have to deal with streaming only service. Thanks Captain's Quarters, it was awesome!

My family of 8 stayed at Captains Quarters for the week of Thanksgiving. It was perfect! The view is amazing. The walk to the beach is easy for all ages. The kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of dishes and utensils. You can walk to Food Lion and Dollar Tree too! The hot tub was lovely and the beds are so comfortable! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful week here. The views from the living space and Master bedroom are AMAZING. The deck is a wonderful place to relax and have your morning coffee, watch the sun rise, and just relax and watch the ocean and nature. Perfect location, right in the middle of Hatteras Island, and 1 minute from the grocery store. 15 minutes to the ferry to Ocracoke. Lots of beach access all around. Vacasa was easy to work with, sent plenty of updates and info and a super easy checkout. I thought I lost some souveniers and the Vacasa staff called me to tell me they found my items and they were promptly mailed to me.

This home was perfect for our vacation. Easy access to the water. Spacious main living area for everyone to gather. Unfortunately the mechanical lift was broken for our luggage. Hot tub head rests have seen better days which resulted in black sticky stains on our bathing suits.

Overall, we loved the location and how quiet it is. The house is a bit dated, but a nice getaway spot with private access to the beach. The beach was never crowded and neighbors were friendly.

Have been going to OBX for several years. Some years in the same house and this year a new house. Captain’s Quarters is strategically located, close to grocery store and restaurants (within walking distance) yet right on the beach. Beach access right in front of the house. Beach area in front of the house not crowded. Kitchen well stocked. House clean and well organized. One of my most relaxing weeks at OBX and booking Captain’s Quarters for my 2023 vacation.

Charming warm and inviting home with well Cargo lift!!!! (very welcome) The outside deck steals the show (but the great room windows view is almost as exciting) . Sunrise, dolphins playing, pelicans diving, waves rolling, moonrise, stargazing ( even sunset) all visible from the deck!!!
