Apart from a few loose boards on the upper deck and some worn patio furniture, the house was wonderful. I especially loved the light and airy master bedroom and bath and the views throughout the house were extremely beautiful.

Loved being so close to the beach, having a pool was a wonderful way to spend the day during the hottest parts of the day. the house itself was very comfortable with lots of space for everyone to not feel cramped. Location is also excellent, close to grocery, restaurants, and shopping. You can tell it's an older house that's seen some use, but for a group of 7 of various ages, it was wonderful.

This house reminded us of vintage OBX and we absolutely loved the layout and design of the house, the pool area and ease to beach, and the views and sounds of the surf were exactly what we were looking for. Our family of 11 have been coming to OBX every year since 1979 - Avon is one of our favorite locations. Please note that even though we loved the comfort of this home, the owners should now invest in the general upkeep of the property- it is time! if needed fixes and updates are made, we would definitely book this house again. ******* Family from Virginia

Nice house which was properly equipped for a week long stay. Enjoyed being right on the beach and the pool was a relief from the hot sand.

The house was nice. Not amazing but not cruddy. It has it wear and tear but served well for our three families with a pool and close beach access.

We very much enjoyed the varied spaces. One group could be talking in the round space overlooking the ocean, exceptionally lively due to hurricane Lee off to the east. Another group doing crafts at the dining table, puzzles in the library, reading on the decks, chopping things in the kitchen. Really ideal. That social floor desperately needs a powder room, however tiny. The deck needs a couple of those tall captains chairs so we can actually see the ocean while seated. We were impressed that the kitchen knives were sharp, a first in a beach house. Shows the love. We loved the library, the number of good reads in the house. We each read at least two. We liked the cold filtered water feature in the fridge. We liked the beach Melmac dishes in the kitchen, but they can’t go in the microwave, so we heated things on paper plates. There is some ironstone, including good mugs, but it becomes super hot in the microwave and you can’t pick it up. The low mark on Cleanliness is due to the push to get the houses ready a day after a hurricane, so we understand. We were pleased just to be able to get in on time. Each room is comfortable and well-appointed, and the upper master is spectacular. The views are unparalleled, and the beach access was very close, and a traction mat provided to get over the steep dune. We used the pool and hot tub daily, especially as the ocean was too wild to get in. There needs to be an opening to the pool area from the back stair. The ocean view from the hot tub was super. The sunset views from the house are good too. Terrific night skies. Our group was older, but the house works well for families with children. Good laundry room. On balance, enjoyed our stay immensely. Packed out with the driveway in a foot of water in the drive, some trick of the water table.

The house had enough bedrooms for our whole family to come on vacation. It was right on the beach and had a pool.

The pool and hot tub were great and clean! Ocean and beach are literally right there. Decks with views on each floor. Walkable to the fishing pier, farmers market, and playgrounds. Well stocked kitchen with all of the utensils, pots, cups and plates we needed. Areas to improve/note: there is no bathroom on the main floor, have to go up or down stairs, mattresses need to be replaced, bedrooms need power strips that are easily accessible; outlets we’re all used up with lamps or tvs.

Great ocean view ! Great place to have families gather and vacation together. Pool is wonderful and the ocean only a few steps away!!
