We had such a wonderful stay in Avon, NC. The house was bright, clean, and incredibly charming—I especially loved the subtle 90s coastal vibe that felt nostalgic without being at all outdated. The kitchen was equipped with great items too - food storage, a cast iron skillet and many plates/bowls/cups. The beach access was fantastic, and the dunes made for the perfect place to explore and play, even on a cold, windy day.
The support staff was responsive and helpful whenever we had questions, which made everything feel easy and well cared for. The location couldn’t have been better—walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to other fun spots.
We would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the Kenmare House and its location in Avon. The openness of the floor plan on the main level was ideal. The kitchen also was well supplied and having a pantry was perfect for our supplies. It was unfortunate that the refrigerator was not cooling or freezing when we got there. Maintenance was notified the next morning and they came that same day with a cooler and ice to put what we could salvage. The refrigerator was repaired that day and able to restock our food. The Wi-Fi was intermittent making movies and games buffer. We called the service and they insisted the signal on their end was good. We restarted all devices but still got buffering and weak signal messages. The three levels of deck was awesome and provided wonderful views, however, certain areas were spongy and boards were in need of replacement. The house was equipped with a central vacuum cleaner, which was really nice. However, there was an upright vacuum that was missing an electrical prong that had possibly broken off somewhere and could not be used. The front right burner of the stove was not operable and did not heat up. Maintenance is aware of this burner and a replacement part is on order. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciate the efforts and communication of Hatteras Realty- we would definitely come back and stay again!

We've been staying in this house for more than 15 years. The layout is excellent, the view from the decks is gorgeous. The furnishings are a bit tired, and the kitchen is not up to date, but it's perfect if you spend most of your time at the beach and enjoy Avon's many restaurants for dinner!

The house was in great condition and very clean. For being a dog friendly house, there was no dog smell or hair on the furniture. The kitchen is surprisingly well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The refrigerator also has a water filter and an in-door water and ice machine. In our years past visits, we have had to have a supply of bottled water on-hand as water straight from the tap does not taste the greatest. Having the water filter in the fridge was a nice bonus! There is also a closet with shelves right next to the kitchen that we used as a pantry. The one thing the kitchen does not provide is towels. There are individual thermostats on each floor of the house which made temperature control easy. There are ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room and 3rd floor bedroom. However, there are none in the three downstairs bedrooms which became a bit stuffy. That, however, may have just been a personal preference. We knew there was a park-style BBQ grill, but were pleasantly surprised to see it also had a cover, which was helpful when grilling. The house is supplied with one bath towel and one wash cloth per guest. Each bathroom is also supplied with two rolls of toilet paper. Plan accordingly if you think you may need/use more towels or toilet paper. The 3rd floor bathroom has a walk-in shower and separate soaker/jetted tub; the two bathrooms on the 1st floor have combo tub/showers. There is also an outdoor shower (with hot & cold). Even with all three showers being used at the same time, we never ran out of hot water. There are wonderful unobstructed views of the ocean from the 3rd floor bedroom, dining & living rooms with the only thing between the house and the beach being the sand dunes! There is a sand walking path from the house to the beach. The house also was supplied with two bodyboards, which was a nice surprise. There is plenty of room to sit in the living room (two couches, a chair & ottoman) along with 4 cushioned swivel chairs between the living room and dining room. There is seating for 8 at the dining room table along with 6 bar stools at the kitchen island. The TV has surround sound with speakers in the living room and dining room. We brought a Roku with us and had no issues with TV connectivity or wifi. This house worked out great for our family and two dogs! Staying in Avon has definitely become our preferred location as it is not as busy (beach, shops and traffic) as the northern areas but still has plenty of stores & restaurants. ***What we should have brought*** Hand soap for the bathrooms & kitchen towels. For the things we did forget, there is a Food Lion 2 miles from the house where we could easily buy the things the house did not have that we needed.

Upon arrival the house was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. Views from the upper bedroom and living area were breathtaking as there is a short walk to the beach. Quiet neighborhood even though they were working on the house next door, they were respectful. Inside furniture was very comfortable and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the water inside and out. 3 showers inside and 2 outside with great pressure and we never ran out of hot water. Everything was perfect and if there was another way to get there besides Rt. 95, we would definitely be back. Traffic was terrible but I guess that's the normal for the Outer Banks. Had a wonderful time and so did our 2 Boston Terriers.

Great view of the Ocean from the Great Room and even better view from the Master Bedroom on the 3rd floor. The kitchen is well equipped and the Food Lion in Avon is only a mile away. The best part of this place is the easy access to the beach and in early April we had an almost private beach. Our family rented this house for the 3rd time in the last four years.

We enjoyed our two week stay at Kenmare. The location and view is perfect. We spent most of our time on the decks if we were not on the beach, which was an easy walk over the dunes. We brought our own zero-gravity chairs and spent late nights star-gazing. The spacious bedrooms and furniture were adequate for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, especially loved that there was a well seasoned cast iron pan for our use! We hope to stay at Kenmare again in the future.

Wonderful house with great views of the ocean. The beach is nice and wide. We saw several deer in the dune behind the house. We liked the small table in the middle of the main floor for games.

The house has a great location, we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sun rise. We loved playing board games on a rainy day and still watching the rain come across the ocean . We enjoyed watching some dolphins swim up the coast. We look forward to staying at the Kenmare in the future.

This house is oceanfront and very easy access to the beach. It is near stores and shops which makes it convenient. The house is "older" but comfortable. We loved the living area and ability to all sit comfortably and the view was perfect. Local Guest SErvices took care immediately of a few minor issues with house when we checked in. We will definitely come back here

We just returned from our 4th stay at Kenmare. We love its location, just a short walk to a quiet beach. The three story house offers a large living area on the top floor with room for any size family. The master suite on the third level offers a magnificent view from a private deck. The first floor has three bedrooms as well as two baths and a laundry room. We could not ask for more. The kitchen is well equipped and hosts a new oven and microwave this year. A wonderful deck across the back of the living area provided plenty of space for our family and dog.

This house feels like home. The setup, on three floors, works well for our little family. There is space for together time with space for adults upstairs and young ones downstairs. The huge deck on the living level provides an immense space to relax and ocean watch. We just reserved this house for our fourth stay, in 2022.
