We were pleased with the amount of towels, bedding, soaps, toilet paper, etc. The beach close to the property was closed.

We’ve come to this property 3 times now. We love the location, cute quaint neighborhood. Great for kids, bike riding, dog walking and the great turtle pond. Close to beaches (walk and bike distance). Also close to bike or drive to local eateries and shops.

We couldn't be happier with Cape Point 240. The house was clean, nicely decorated, and a short walk to the beach. Everything we needed was supplied. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware. The beds were super comfortable with plenty of storage for our clothes provided in each bedroom. Water was hot with great pressure. We look forward to renting again upon our return to Buxton. Thank you for making our vacation a memorable one!

This is a great place for a family or three guys on a fishing trip. Everything you need on one floor. The kitchen is small but has all the utensils and cook ware you need. Walking distance to the beach, close to grocery stops and restaurants. No hot tub or pool but the price is right. An outside grill would have been nice but we had a small gas one with us.

The fact it was a very small community is always a appealing factor to my choice of stays. Away from all the partying and such.

This is a wonderful home in a very quiet neighborhood. It was great to be able to walk across the street and fish in the pond. It is a very quiet location and a great neighborhood to walk your dogs or let your kids ride their bikes!

We like that it is one level once you get up the first flight of stairs. We like the location. We don't like that the rates have gone up drastically for next year preventing us from renting this house again. We have rented this house for several years with only minor increases, now with the new rental company they want to make it impossible for us to pay the new rates.

The house is well-maintained, in a good location, and in a quiet, nice neighborhood. We have dogs and especially liked the yard because it was actually grass and did not have the cacti and spiny plants that hurt their feet we have had in beach houses we've stayed at previously. The appliances were modern and the house is up-to-date and well-maintained. The deck was a great place to sit in the evenings and was in great repair. There is a pond across the street so even though you were in a neighborhood it didn't feel like you were too closed in by other houses. The pond had bass it in too and a place for kids to do a little fishing. The neighborhood was a great, safe place, with little traffic to walk the dogs each morning. You can see glimpses of the ocean between houses, and being able to see the light of the lighthouse at night was neat. The beach is an easy walk along a paved road and also has lots of parking at the access. However, we were unaware that there are warnings at the access about submerged hazards at the nearest beach access to the house. Pipes and remnants of old sea walls are visible in the water. We did not feel safe allowing the kids to play in the surf so instead drove to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It is barely a five-minute easy drive, has parking at the access, porta-johns, and lifeguards on duty. We really enjoyed that beach access with the lighthouse visible in the background and no beach houses along the dunes. My only complaint was with Vacasa. I had originally booked the house under another management company I have used for several years and then the reservation was transferred (which was fine, I was notified of the change). However, everything was then pushed through the Vacasa app which had less information and details about the property listed than the original site and management company I had booked under. Most of the information was very generic and said things like "if included in your vacation home" but it was difficult to see if it was included i.e. community pool, beach access info. etc. I had also paid extra for sheets and towels, but this was not listed on the receipt and payment information that was listed in the Vacasa app. I had to call and confirm that I had ordered enough towel sets thinking I had forgotten to add them since it wasn't in my payment information. When I tried paying my remainder through the app it gave me an error and I had to call about this as well. I had also originally purchased vacation insurance, but the app specifically stated that insurance was not purchased, so I had to call and confirm this too. When I called I had purchased towels, my payment did go through even though I did not receive an in-app confirmation, and I did have insurance on file - so not impressed with the app that Vacasa pushes you to at every turn. I also called to confirm the number of beds in the twin room to work out sleeping arrangements with the kids. I was told that both twin beds were trundle beds, and I ordered 4 sets of twin sheets - this was incorrect and only one was a trundle bed so only three twin beds. This threw a wrench in the sleeping arrangements slightly with the children when we arrived. I and all my guests were also emailed a check-in time of 4PM two days prior to our check-in date, even though the app said 6PM. I had to call once again and try to confirm the actual check-in time. We were told that it was a generic, form email that was sent and check-in was not until 6PM, but we would be notified if the house was done early and an early check-in was possible. One of the guests happen to arrive an hour early, but since we had not received an early check-in notification parked on the street to wait for a notification that the house was ready. Once six o'clock and the rest of the guests arrived we attempted to go inside even though we had not received a notification of the house being ready. Everything was cleaned and appeared in early; so the house was ready early but we were not notified like Vacasa specifically said we would be. While a minor thing - a large tub labeled Vacasa was sitting in the driveway and full of dirty towels and sheets when we arrived. We moved it out of the way and it sat there for a couple of days until I guess someone came and picked it up. Then a new tub arrived with clean sheets for the next guest two days before our check out. I do not like the idea that sheets and towels are left outside for anyone to access or use before arriving. The house was cleaned well overall, but extremely dusty. When we turned on a ceiling fan we were showered with large dust flakes. I had to go around and clean caked dust off the rest of the fans before we turned them on. There was also a lot of dog hair on all the furniture and even on the pillowcase of my made bed which was a little off-putting. Overall, love the house and location, but will avoid booking through Vacasa in the future - not impressed.
