The boardwalk leads right to the sound, ending at a small pier with benches and stairs to the water, providing a gorgeous place to drink in the fabulous, unobstructed views of sunsets over the Pamlico Sound. The sandy beach and dock provide the perfect opportunity for kayaking and kite surfing during your stay. Two levels of sundecks offer excellent deck furnishings. This retreat has been recently updated with new floors and new paint throughout. Relax surrounded by beautiful decor and comfortable furnishings inside Lazy Daze. The two main bedrooms feature bathrooms with roll-in showers, each with a TV and DVD player. The great room with high ceilings and plenty of windows will offer a comfortable, relaxing place. Others can congregate in the kitchen with wooden cabinets and a refrigerator with an icemaker to grab a snack and discuss the day. Four TVs and a VCR player will provide plenty of indoor amusement if you need a break from the beach. Books, games, and a shuffleboard table are also available for your enjoyment. Additional entertainment features include a 36-inch TV with a memory stick port and a DVD/CD player in the great room. The list of great features goes on for Lazy Daze. You'll find a wet bar with a mini-fridge and microwave in the den, and a convenient elevator will take you to all levels of the home, perfect for transporting luggage and groceries. The seven-person hot tub will be a relaxing place to enjoy a refreshing beverage or one of those famous Outer Banks sunsets. A private outdoor shower with a changing area provides added convenience for cleaning off. Fishermen will be delighted with the convenience of having a large fish cleaning station complete with double sinks and running water to clean their daily catches. Enjoy fishing for your daily catch from the end of the dock, where seasonal fish such as trout, red drum, and croakers have earned previous guests both NC saltwater fishing citations and delicious meals at the end of the day. With all there is to enjoy at Lazy Daze, you'll be hard-pressed to experience any 'lazy days' on your next trip to the Outer Banks!

This was pur first stay at lazy daze. It is a beautiful home. Hurricane winds caused major damage on the ocean side but we were safe on the sound side. Caught some great fish from the dock and caught some crabs as well. It is a fun place to stay. We left 2 crab traps for the next guests to enjoy as well. If you want to try cast netting it is a great place to do it with the mullet that swim through. As far as inside the home it is loaded with everything you need. Very clean and leaves a homey feeling. It always is hard leaving Buxton but this time was really rough. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We have stayed in this house a few times in our 50 years of coming to Hatteras Island. The last time it was for sale ( we didn’t know at the time of booking). It probably shouldn’t have been available to rent with the condition of all beds and furniture. ( understand it’s for sale you don’t want to put $ in it but also not fair to renters). Congratulations to the new owners and how they updated inside and out. My 3 yr old grandson loved going out on dock fishing. And of course sunsets sound front never disappoint! Buxton is a great location. We will definitely book again!

We loved the views in the evening on the deck. We loved the lights on the Dock-all lit up. We loved the crab trap. We loved all the puzzles. ( we did 101 pooping puppies-so hard/ but perfect when we all put it together!!) The weather was iffy.. rained a lot but cleared up for some great beach time) we loved the game room so much!! We didn’t have a dryer the 2nd week/ but just took home our dirty clothes/ Elevator was key!!! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!

Lazy Daze is perfect. The home was clean and very spacious. The pier was great for fishing and the sunset is awesome from the pier or deck. The home had everything we needed. We will definitely stay her on our next trip to the Outer Banks.

We absolutely loved this home! We have been coming to Hatteras for decades and this is one of our favorite places. It’s very private. The sound views are incredible- sunrise to sunset. Lots of bird watching, little crabs, lizards, even deer. The decks and dock are in great shape, beautifully lit up at night. I appreciated the gates at each stairwell outside to keep in pets or toddlers. The elevator was working and very helpful with luggage/groceries. We found the beds comfortable, the home very clean upon arrival, and a new owner since summer of 2024 seems to have taken care of all the previous renter complaints I read about in other reviews. The kitchen was well stocked with all essential equipment. TV’s in every bedroom, tons of books and puzzles, a video game and shuffleboard can entertain you inside when the weather isn’t great. We had good experiences with Vacasa as well- I was called on the day of check in to let me know the house was ready but pest control was on their way to take care of an ant issue. No problem! We also had a problem with the propane tank for the grill but I used the chat feature online to contact Vacasa and within 2 hours someone was on their way to take care of it. We’d love to rent again, but noticed the price has doubled for next year, same week, and now has a 20 pound limit for dogs so we don’t qualify. It’s a gorgeous place to wake up on vacation!

The view and the dock were the best part of this home. Loved the location as well. Still not happy with vacasa for dishwasher not working the whole trip. Partial refund requested with no response. Floors needed to be cleaned as well. Home was beautiful but the cleaning fee was ridiculous considering that we had to do alot of cleaning ourself

This is a beautiful house and property however needs much maintenance and a deep thorough cleaning. The house was filthy. Vacuums were unusable. Vacasa was not responsive when we reported the dishwasher did not work. And, per guest book hadn't worked for more than a month even though it was reported. Disappointing and sad for such a beautiful house!

Loved having access to the elevator to load & unload our things. Would have loved to use the fireplace the first few chilly days. But the views & the place are lovely. If you have an issue though, don't expect vacasa to help.

We stayed here for our annual family vacation. The home is beautiful with an amazing view. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was a very nice perk. The house had pretty much everything you need. The only negative feedback was that it wasn't very clean under beds and under the couch specifically. I ended up vacuuming and found a ton of dog hair and food crumbs. Other than that, it was pretty perfect. Nice private location as well.

Lazy Daze was a great home with a beautiful sound-front experience! We brought a toddler along for the trip and having gates on every floor of the deck was an amazing added safety bonus. The house was super clean when we got there and our family fit comfortably in the 4 bedrooms. The added bonus was the amazing boardwalk out to the sound. Our dogs loved jumping off those stairs and playing in the water! We will definitely be returning to this house for future stays!

The house is in a perfect location with beautiful views and access to the sound. Very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay; kitchen, bathroom supplies, etc. Close to the beaches and restaurants. We rented kayaks and enjoying taking them out on the sound. The hot tub was great! Nice, quiet neighborhood.

We really liked our stay at Lazy Daze in Buxton, NC. The views of the sound were just stunning from the inside and out of the cottage. Our favorite thing to do in the evening was watch the sunset over the sound, just so pretty. The privacy here is also nice, which is hard to find now days. The cottage was well stocked and provided an enjoyable place for us to come back to after a day at the beach. We loved the pier. My husband caught a huge trout off it. Like everywhere there is always room for improvement, in our case the cottage was not as clean as some of the other ones we stayed at. We would have liked the windows to have been cleaned to view the sound, I know this is hard to do everywhere but the ones within easy reach could be done, plus having screens in the doors would also be nice. Overall, this is a great place to stay at, a great location for restaurants, and enjoying Buxton and Frisco. The view is unbeatable, and the cottage has more privacy than so many other places. We would absolutely stay at Lazy Daze again.

This place has the most beautiful views and great location in buxton close to everything but you feel secluded enough with only a few neighbors. The inside is adequate and the elevator works great which we needed. Especially wonderful we could bring our pup! Everything we needed for cooking a few meals with those breathtaking views! Thank you for sharing your place! My only area for improvement would be more comfortable seating in the living room and beds but not a deterrent for staying.

If you’re looking for a beautiful home off the beaten path, Lazy Daze is your home! This is our 3rd time staying here and it certainly won’t be the last. The walkway to the sound is perfect for sunbathing, swimming in the sound, fishing, etc. The home itself has been updated recently and is perfect for a few small families! We highly recommend!
