This 4,100+ square foot retreat was designed with comfort, community, and play in mind. Six primary suites (each with private bath) - sleeps 15, 10' ceilings throughout, and large rooms open to 2,100+ square feet of decks, giving you a feeling of spaciousness throughout. There's something for everyone with the great room, featuring dramatic 20' cathedral ceilings, family room, den, game room, two-car garage, large un-heated pool, and deluxe seven-person hot tub. The elevator makes this an ideal retreat for families with older members and small children, as well as handicap features. WHISPERING SANDS is equipped with high-speed internet access, but we recommend doing your surfing on the waves!

On the ground floor, play pool (8' table), foosball, cards, or over two dozen board games in the large game room while enjoying the kitchenette wet bar amenities (microwave, full fridge with ice maker). Sliding glass door access to pool, hot tub and grilling area. Lounge in the adjoining den (CTV, DVD, and stereo). The primary suite features two pyramid bunks (full and twin beds) and a private bath (with HC roll-in shower). A two-car garage (auto opener, locked storage) with concrete drive provides an easy-to-access and use all-weather entry to the elevator and house. On the first floor, relax in four primary suites (each with a private bath, one handicap accessible) symmetrically arranged around the family room, wet bar (fridge, coffee station, table), and laundry (washer/dryer). Lounge in the family room on a large comfy sectional with a book or movie (CTV/DVD/home theater) from the 100+ video collection, 100+ book library, music (surround sound stereo), dozens of board games, dozens of puzzles, or access the deck with ocean and pool views.

When you reach the top floor, savor your time in the 38' wide great room featuring dramatic cathedral ceilings (20') and memorable ocean and Pamlico Sound views. Enjoy music (surround sound stereo) or catch a movie (CTV/DVD/home theater). The dining area is perfect for socializing and gatherings with seating for everyone, a breakfast bar and a wet bar. Cooks will enjoy the spacious and well-equipped kitchen (21' x 11') with a pub table, pantry, oversized fridge, two dishwashers, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and lighthouse views!

There is also a deluxe primary suite (with private bath), powder room (1/2 bath), and office space (wireless high-speed Internet, fax, desk, chair, and answering machine). Enjoy a picnic, lounge, or sun on oversize decks with ocean, sound, lighthouse, sunrise, and sunset views. Outside, you'll find a 16' x 32' pool, deluxe seven-person hydrotherapy hot tub, 1/2 bath, two showers, gas grill, picnic table, pool lounge chairs, storage (lockable), and lighted fish cleaning station. The east coast's best windsurfing and kiteboarding launch areas are only minutes away at Canadian Hole and Kite Pointe!

Loved the pool, hot tub and everything else about the house but the dryer not drying, the front door handle falling off constantly and the kitchen utensils being lack luster and not organized were the only main problems.

The house was very nice, clean and fit our large group perfectly. We enjoyed staying here! Nice location and neighborhood! Some improvements needed: -need TVs in all bedrooms -Need keyless entry- 2 keys for 3 families was inconvenient and we didn’t know the code for the lockbox located outside of the home.

This house is great. Love the double garage for storing rods in at night. It has 6 bedrooms with 10 beds plus a futon. The elevator is a must for our group with several men in their 80’s. I have been staying at this house in October for over 15 years. It never disappoints The kitchen area is huge with very large dining table. I have already booked next years trip. Thank you.

The home was great but could use some tvs in atleast a couple of the bed rooms and the grill was just terrible it was so dirty the grease under the burners caught on fire

We loved it all. Great space and clean. We love the huge dining table for meals and games. You cannot beat the very very short walk to the beach and the large pool.

My large family has been coming to Hatteras for close to 10 years. This house by far has been the BEST house and every family member mentioned it all week long. The house was spacious; even with a big group we were never crowded. The layout of the rooms were great. We loved the hot tub was on the same level as pool. Having a fridge on each level was also exceptional. Every detail was amazing. We loved the two dishwashers haha what sold me on the house was the big table to fit our family. The views were incredible. Easy walk to the beach; we can watch the sunrise from the front porch and the sunset from the back. It was spectacular. Also, we loved how close to everything we were. Grocery; ABC, DG.. red drum was our morning stop. Great breakfast and grabbed ice! I really also enjoyed being able to text to ask any questions. We will be trying to rebook this house in the future.

Last time we were there was 5 years ago. We came again with the same friends and family and had a great time. Easy walk to the beach. Pool was nice. Everything was very clean on arrival. Beds were comfortable. Great upper deck view with the captain's chairs

The layout and location are great. The garage is a big bonus, as is the elevator. The kitchen could use more utensils and dish clothes but otherwise we really enjoyed the house.

Great location if you want beach life without all the noise and lights. The pool is lovely. Easy access to beach, short stroll. Plenty of room for our family of 11 adults and 2 children. Nearby Conner's grocery has everything you need. (Even some vegetarian items). Long dining table great for meals and puzzles. We set up our net and played pickle ball in the garage. Plenty of things to do. We didn't even turn on the TV. Stayed four years ago and thought it needed a little refreshing: tired carpet, couches steam cleaned and outside doors need attention. Those same things still need attention.

Beautiful huge home, very clean. This home is perfect for multiple families/ guests. The beach access is close, with beautiful views. My kids loved the pool and I enjoyed the hot tub. The pool table was great for entertainment. The furnishing could use some updating (furniture and beds) but with that being said we really loved this house and would definitly book it again.

We were 6 adults and 6 children in this house. Having a garage provided a lot of peace of mind for the guys to store their kite gear. The elevator helped for bringing luggage and groceries to the top floor. The house was well stocked. The kitchen and pantry were excellent. The bedrooms were all a nice size. We enjoyed the layout of the house.

This was my first rental with Vacasa and we really enjoyed it. The house is beautiful and well positioned to the beach. The elevator was a real plus. The rooms were spacious and everything was clean and inviting. Here are my caveats: Be sure to read your welcome package for pertinent information. When I called, I was told there was a passcode for the property but it actually required that you stop at the rental office for keys and there was no automatic garage opener which would come in handy given we arrived in heavy storms. Also the bedooms, kitchen and closeout message sent electronically all had different instructions for exit preparations. As a group of women, the lack of blinds or shades in the largest entertaining area on the 3rd floor was worrisome as when lit at night, everyone outside can see you but you can't see them. The pool was listed as open April 1 but was not as of the 8th, which was one of the reasons the property was selected and there were too many frogs in it to chance it. However, no response to the service request though the hot tub was serviced and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Additionally, if your guests seek personal tvs in their bedrooms, the rooms were clearly equipped, but no tvs. We used the 3 common areas for our large party. Last, only one of the 2 keys given actually worked. Now despite those things, we had a blast and Vacasa staff were overwhelmingly responsive, professional and did their best to help us have a great vacay. If blinds were added and the pool actually ready for use, this would be our go to rental for the next several vacations.

From the moment we met Sharon at check inn until the moment I turned in the keys everything about this home was incredible!!! So much room and the kitchen was perfect and I’m a professional Chef ! The pool and Hot tub were well maintained. The whole time your looking at the view you can’t even believe how beautiful it is !!
