An easy walk from the Buxton Highway 12 shops and restaurants, this top-floor, Cottage Avenue Duplex home has a shared pool, two bedrooms, and is super-close to the beach and ocean. You'll enjoy the semi-oceanfront location, the central AC, the full kitchen, the bedrooms, and the bath when you want to come to the beach to enjoy all that it has to offer. Need a little extra space for your friends or extended family? You can rent Cape Bottom which occupies the same building as a separate unit with its own entrance. Don't forget: this home welcomes up to four dogs, so every family member can come along! Whether you're here for three nights or three weeks, you'll enjoy the beach life with Cape Top.

Please Note: As a barrier island, Hatteras is constantly changing. Beach conditions, dunes, and access points may vary due to erosion, restoration projects, weather, and other environmental factors.

Overall a fantastic rental right on the water, which was a surprise the pictures on Air BnB are a little outdated. The pool situation is a little confusing as it’s located in Avon not really near the property but no big deal because you at the beach. We will be looking forward to booking again for next summer.

Great house! Pet friendly and fenced in yard with a pool. Close enough to everything but off the main road. Absolutely loved our stay.

We loved that Vacasa was communicative with us when needed.

We enjoyed our stay in thos house, but it was short lived due to the houses collapsing in Buxton. Vacasa did move us to a safer location. We had a decent view from the porch and after rhe houses fell, it truly became ocean front. This house waa great for a small family.

The home is a bit older, and has no frills. It's exactly as advertised. It provides all the necessities and is clean. So, if your goal is to spend most of your time on the beach, this place is a great choice. Plus, the communication from Vacasa was excellent.

This charming home away from home was immaculately clean, thoughtfully stocked with everything needed and very comfortable. It’s a lot of stairs but the view is spectacular. I sat on the deck every morning watching the dolphins. Great location! Will def visit Cape Top again.

Clean house, great views, comfortable beds, nice tvs. Not for children or for relaxing on the beach though due to the damaged homes and lack of beach at high and low tide. Recommend for fisherman or couples getaway

This house was perfect for our family of 3. Proximity to the beach was fantastic and overall cleanliness was great. Our only gripe was the number of stairs we had to climb to enjoy, but if you enjoy a good workout after a day at the beach. This is the perfect spor for you.

This house is right on the beach which is makes it a great location. The house is nice with comfortable furniture. The road to get to it is a little bumpy but understandable with being at the beach.

My family (husband, mom & dog) rented this home for 4 days, 3 nights for our Christmas present this year. This was the BEST trip we have taken! The home was sparkling clean, I’m talking perfectly swept, fresh linens and towels, down to the inside of the oven looking brand new! We got some of the best sleep of our lives with how comfortable the beds were. The house is also RIGHT on the beach so sleeping with the windows open to hear the roaring water was awesome. We loved this place so much we are going to book it again from next year’s Christmas!

We had an enjoyable stay. The house was clean, comfortable and was great to be steps from the beach. And an extra plus…being able to see the lighthouse from the porch/windows 🖤🤍. We’ll definitely consider coming back again!

I rented this condo for a short, impromptu girls weekend with my mom and sister. Since it was just the three of us for only a couple days we didn’t need anything fancy and had our expectations set low. We were pleasantly surprised by this condo. It was well care for and clean. Not just basic floor swept clean, but even then fixtures and window treatments were clean. I honestly can think of one negative thing about the place. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple place to relax for a few days.
