Here's the skinny on Fishbonz-Almost Heaven 2, a lovely Buxton Oceanside cottage. This recently remodeled Lindal Cedar Diamond Point Estates home is built close to the ground and provides easy access for all ages. The house is just a five-minute walk to Buxton's best fishing, sunning, and surfing beaches. With just a short drive south, you can take the ferry to Ocracoke Island and all it has to offer, and there are additional fishing opportunities at fabled Hatteras Point. The house has good concrete parking and a one-and-a-half car garage with a washer/dryer and a fish freezer. The living area is comfortably furnished and has a nice entertainment system anchored by a large flatscreen TV, plus a DVD/Blu-ray player. The updated kitchen has all the right equipment for producing perfect meals for the nearby dining area. The first bedroom has a TV and a private bath located on the ground level. Upstairs, the second bedroom has a TV monitor with a DVD player and the third bedroom has a TV and a DVD/Blu-ray player as well. A full hall bath is close to the large fourth bedroom with a TV and deck access. If you want to be first to Cape Point in the morning, rent Fishbonz-Almost Heaven 2. Don't forget to utilize the Olympic-size pool at Club Hatteras in Avon to beat traffic congestion arriving early and leaving late! Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

We genuinely liked this house. it's located off rt 12 but access to the beach is now limited but if you are just looking for a place to camp out, this place is the ticket. there is a herd of deer that walk by and stop twice a day. there are plenty of birds and other creatures. there's a nearby pond with dozens of large turtles that will come to the shore and greet you when you stop by. You can walk to the lighthouse (which is under construction) and visit the gift shop since it's open during construction. My family and I adore the area and the peaceful nature of Buxton and will consider renting this house in the future. Aside from a few minor issues, this is really a charming place to rent.

Fishbonz is great for ground-level living (in flood-safe area), with a great useable garage with extra fridge and freezer! Plenty of rooms/bath for the kids/grands upstairs.

Our stay here was perfect from the beginning! Our check in was scheduled for 5 but it was clean and ready for us a lot earlier which was so nice. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We loved that there weren’t but 3 steps onto the porch a downstairs master bedroom with bath that had a large walk in shower. This was easier for us all but especially me as I have some mobility issues. This house is so cozy and comfortable and we want to rent it again in the future!

Great house for OBX fishing. Very clean and amenities are perfect. Nice big garage for rod storage, extra fridge and freezer. Fish cleaning station out back and location is right in the middle of the action.

This house worked well for our family with members with limited mobility. The location is great with beach access and parking just around the block. The kitchen is well stocked with plates and pots/pans. We loved the couch and large table to sit at together!

Easy access to the beach at Lighthouse Rd and close proximity to Ramps 44 and 48 for surf fishing, the Garage was awesome for kayak and fishing equipment storage

Quiet beach near lighthouse and drive on beach. Close to amenities in Buxton but tucked away in a development. The house itself needs some updates but I gave it 4stars because the cheaper price reflects. Vacasa was great with check-in and responded quickly but never actually did anything. Notified of a broken window which was letting hot air rush in and low batteries in smoke detector. They never came to give us batteries (why bother placing a ticket for no action?), spares should probably be left at the house as this is a safety issue. Upstairs got very warm then cold (likely due to window being 1+ inch ajar). Upstairs master was big, had a nice deck and comfy bed. Downstairs bed needs to be replaced asap, my BIL slept on the sofa instead of the “heated marshmallow bed”. The shared pool is 10 mins away in Avon but was a nice backup for rough seas w/ little kids. Nice having bedding provided and a starter kit.

The house was clean and convenient to places we love. I have been vacationing tn the Outer Banks since I was born and I turned 65 on this vacation. I liked the first level master. We loved the sectional sofa. close the ocean as well.

We have stayed at Fishbones many times. For us older folks, there are just a few steps to climb, to get inside the house. For the fisherman, the garage is great for tackle storage, and getting rigged up for the next day.

Dry during the shifty weather, HUGE garage for rods and tackle. Extra fridge and deep freeze was a super plus. Electronic locks...no keys to lose. Awesome check in/out, super easy!

This will be where our family stays every visit!!!!! Absolutely spotless from top to bottom. Had any and everything we could need. Cleaning supplies, washing detergent, dish washing liquid, a full garage, and OUTSTANDING VIEW FROM TOP BALCONY!! This home I most definitely recommend. Thank you for the outstanding service

Elderly-easy on ground level with walk-in shower; kids get the upstairs. Bathrooms up and down. Ample living quarters, locking garage for fishing supplies safety (and car) in non-living space. Load and unload out of weather. Lots of refrigerator and extra chest freezer. Large capacity W/D.

It was very nice to be so close to the ocean and the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. There are four lighthouses within driving distance. There are a number of free museums to see.

As an older individual, it is great not to have to climb a lot of steps. The house is clean, and update. The garage makes a great place to store your fishing supplies.
