Description

Fly your favorite vacation colors high at this sweet Buxton cottage, Pirate's Light. Completely renovated inside and out in 2014, including an expanded deck, kitchen appliances, wood and tile flooring, upgraded furniture, and flatscreen TVs, this home is waiting to give you the vacation you're ready for. Located in a quiet Diamond Point Estates subdivision, Pirate's Light is just a four-minute walk to one of the nicest beaches and premier surf break on the East Coast, Old Hatteras Lighthouse. The ground level has good parking, a fish-cleaning station, and an outside shower.

The first living level has a large wrap-around, covered deck and opens to a convenient laundry nook with a stacked washer/dryer. The first bedroom has a queen bed, a ceiling fan and large closet. The second bedroom has a bunk bed set and a single, a TV, and a ceiling fan. Both are near a convenient hall bath. The main bedroom has queen bed, a large walk-in closet, a full bath, and a TV. All bedrooms are close to the outside deck. Upstairs is a large, open great room with a cathedral ceiling, a full bath, and plenty of seating, and an entertainment center with a TV. The well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar and is close to the nearby dining area. Enjoy family moments in either the west-side screened-in porch, the large sunroom, at the shared pool, or out on the furnished sun decks.

Pirate's Light offers views of the ocean and the Cape Hatteras lighthouse. It's simple: the best vacations revolve around Pirate's Light.

Things to know: Dog-friendly Free WiFi and cable Central AC Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

Please Note: As a barrier island, Hatteras is constantly changing. Beach conditions, dunes, and access points may vary due to erosion, restoration projects, weather, and other environmental factors.

Couldn’t beat the location. Had a slip up getting in and the locks on the house were slightly janky. Great home base for a family that wants their dog to tag along. The view of the lighthouse from the top deck is unmatched. Place was decently clean and well stocked. Great house to bring your pet aside from the steps up but it is a great workout for active dogs. I could see senior dogs having some difficulty. Walk to the beach or so many different accesses within a short drive. I would definitely stay again if I could find it at a slightly better price.

First time in Buxton and we picked the perfect place. Family of 5 and we weren't on top of each other at all. The den was a big bonus for a space for teenagers to hang. Close walk to the beach. If you wanted to walk it’s close to shopping/restaurants. The neighbors are super nice and there is a turtle pond right down the street that was so cool. Perfect location and space to enjoy a quiet get away. The decks were great to enjoy the nights.

First time in Buxton and we picked the perfect place. Family of 5 and we weren't on top of each other at all. The den was a big bonus for a space for teenagers to hang. Close walk to the beach. If you wanted to walk it’s close to shopping/restaurants. The neighbors are super nice and there is a turtle pond right down the street that was so cool. Perfect location and space to enjoy a quiet get away. The decks were great to enjoy the nights.

We recently stayed at Pirate's Light for our annual joint family vacation and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and comfortable and the layout is great. Just a few suggestions, upgrade the utensils every so often and instead of miss matched dishes, perhaps purchase a large enough set of matching dishes to accommodate a family who might host a meal for friends and family. Also, for management, the doorknobs are very loose and locks a bit tempermental. Another suggestion, the house is large enough to accommodate 8 if the owners would advertise the "den" with a fold out couch and french doors for privacy as another sleeping space. There is a full bathroom on the top level near the den which would make the den an ideal space to use as extra sleeping space. We will absolutely consider renting Pirate's Light again in the future as it met all our needs and has a cozy, old beach house type vibe.

Quiet neighborhood for a relaxing vacation. Starter packets of soaps and detergents very appreciated along with linens and towels. Nice selection of board games and books. Very clean. Great vacation.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family of 6. Extremely clean when we came in and had everything we needed the entire week. The staff was very friendly and we could literally walk everywhere from the house. Even weathered a hurricane halfway through the week and it was still the best OBX trip we have taken. We have definitely found our new town and house for our vacations!

A Gem in Buxton

I thought the house had a great layout, was in a quiet part of town, great walkability to food and beach access both, etc. having a view of the lighthouse is also fantastic, especially in the evenings. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed ready to go upon arrival. I would’ve preferred a keyless entry lock on the main door but that’s not a dealbreaker by any means! This house is an absolute gem and I really loved using both decks in the early evenings. This house also allowing for pets was a great convenience for both me and my dog. Thank you Pirates Light!!!
