You'll also be within a mile of great local restaurants, gift stores, and bait shops. Completely surrounded by a privacy fence and lush, tropical foliage, the backyard pool area offers you a private paradise to enjoy with friends and family. An upper deck area makes an ideal spot to work on your tan, and if you need some relief from the heat, the breezy ground-floor patio has got you covered. If you went fishing while out and about, use the fish-cleaning station to prepare your catch for a hearty meal. The backyard firepit's top can be turned into a grill to sear the fish you just cleaned. In the evening, use it for starlight s'mores sessions together. An enclosed outdoor shower provides a private and convenient spot to rinse off after trips to the beach. Coastal tones and seaside decor fill the interior, helping to set the mood for beachside bliss. Vaulted ceilings and strong natural lighting in the open-concept living area create an inviting space for group gatherings. An updated sofa and smart TV provide comfortable home lounging and indoor entertainment. A full suite of stainless steel kitchen appliances, cookware, and plenty of utensils are equipped for home cooking. Additional perks include central air-conditioning, free WiFi, and a private washer/dryer. Things to Know Streaming services are available with guests' own account(s). Occupancy is limited to 2 people per bedroom as per Dare County septic regulations. The private pool is open seasonally from 4/26/2025 and closes 10/12/2025. Dates are subject to change. The pool will open seasonally from 04/01/2026 and close 10/10/2026. Dates are subject to change. Guests have access to the pool at Club Hatteras; located at 41156 Hwy 12, Avon. The pool is typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day - weather permitting and subject to close without notice.

This house was the perfect size for my husband and I it had all we needed. We weren't in the house much since most of our vacation is spent fishing.

We really enjoyed our time at Knot a Care. We had our dog with us, and it was a great set up. It is hard to find smaller properties with a pool, so this one was a pleasant surprise. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the beach (the beach currently has a lot of storm damage so we went to another beach every day, but it will be undergoing restoration). The house had a nice layout and everything we needed. Great stay. Thank you!

Beautiful home in a great location. Pool was well maintained and a really nice set up with a bar area by the pool. About a two block walk to the beach. Neighborhood was quiet and great to walk at night and see the stars!

Everything was in place and ready for me when I got there. Bring what you want to eat and relax by the pool. It's a very quiet neighborhood with lots of wild animals who were almost tame. Last but not least, it was a short walk to the beach. I plan on going back, but more than just three nights.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this business owned rental. It was different from other rentals we stayed in with there being no personal items from the family that owns the house since it is owned by a business- not negative- but just different. The location is perfect- or will be once the Buxton beach location opens up from the oil spill. It will allow the renters to go all the way to the Buxton lighthouse and Cape Point- a local fishing hot spot. The pool was not open- but the nice pool guy came by getting it ready for the next renters. The neighborhood is quiet and there is a pond right next door for catch and release fishing. There are several tackle shops and restaurants at the end of the street- enjoyed being able to walk to them if we wanted to! We enjoyed our first time at OBX and didn’t have a care while there!

Weekend away

Just us and our dog, perfect getaway! Quiet neighborhood, off season so not too much going on. House was nice, cooked some meals at the house and went to a local sports bar as well. A great weekend away!

Sweet and Cozy

Overall, we loved our stay at Knot A Care. Location was excellent! Easy drive to the beach and delicious restaurants. Pool was great. The fenced in yard was perfect for us and our dog. We didn’t get to do a fire in the pit, but that would have been great with plenty of seating around. We watched tv only a little bit, but we had access to any app. No issue with connecting to WiFi either. We had access to the washer and dryer so we were able to wash all of our clothes before heading home. We ate out the whole time, but there were plenty of cooking items available if you wanted to cook in. I can’t say enough good things about this place. We would stay again, so I think that says it all.

Super cozy beach house!

This was the perfect little beach house for a quiet and relaxing week. Very cozy home with a small, but well kept pool to stay cool during those hot summer days. The only thing I would say needs upgraded would be more kitchen supplies for cooking and cleaning and a working grill, other than that, this little beach house was a little gem, my family and two dogs enjoyed our stay immensely....would definitely come back!

We all agreed that this was the best beach house we've booked yet, and we've stayed at plenty! Roomy enough for everyone to have their own space, yet still gave that cozy, homey feeling. The kitchen was very well stocked, plenty of pots and pans, utensils, etc. I can't think of anything that this house was missing, that we wished it had. The pool/backyard area was the star of the show, we enjoyed it daily. The public beach access was a 5 minute walk from the house, not bad at all! Close to local restaurants, shops, and an awesome little coffee shop just a quick drive away. We love Buxton and this house will be our go-to in the future. Very cozy and quiet and the pool was small but wonderful for cooling off on those hot days. The walk to the beach is maybe 5 - 7 minutes, when you get to the end of the street, hang a right and go down a short walk, that is the best place to get beach access. The home could use some kitchen supply updates, but overall our stay was very relaxing and we enjoyed our week immensely. I would definitely recommend!

The firepit is perfect size and great gathering place in the evening. Well stocked with comfortable chairs around all outside areas and deck. This is a definite "return to" as very few homes the size have pools and are this nice.

Cozy time away

This home was just what we needed for our spring break getaway. Very dog friendly! Our pup loved the wrap around deck, the backyard and the loft/bedroom area. We placed her bed near the slider door and she was able to relax and view the outside at the same time, which she loved! Overall the house is quiet and serene. We could hear the ocean waves at night and the view of the Hatteras Lighthouse was a big plus to see once the sun set. The house has everything you'll need-full kitchen, 2 baths, plenty of places to sleep and even items for rainy days (puzzles and books). This would be a great place for multiple couples or a family. The living room area is a little small, but if you're here during the warmer months, I doubt much time will be spent inside anyway. We stayed when it was colder but the backyard and pool would be wonderful in the warmer months. The neighborhood was walkable and was easy to get to a couple food spots and the public beach access. I would stay here again!

Just what we needed!

Needed a good week to recharge and the OBX is aways the place to do it. Knot A Care fulfilled the need for a worry free week of sun, sand and surf fishing.

Our stay was great. Having the pool is so great after the beach or a day just wanting to chill. The house is fully stocked. We felt like the house definitely could have been cleaned better. You get charged a cleaning fee and expect to come to a house that’s been moped and so on. It wasn’t terrible but I did sweep upon arriving because of food on the floor.

The house was perfect for our family (two adults and two teenage boys). It had everything we needed, was nicely upgraded and decorated. The best thing was the location: a 5-minute walk to the beach (or a 1-minute drive), a couple of great restaurants and a frozen custard place within a walking distance, the supermarket only 5 minutes away by car! Additionally, two beach supplies stores and a really cute jewelry/souvenir store (Swell Art) were also only 1-minute drive away. We also really enjoyed the pool and the view of the lighthouse. We would love to stay here again - the place is perfect.

Knot a care was a wonderful Home for our family of five (three adult children). Kitchen living area bedrooms and most especially the outdoor space was perfect for us. We loved the pool and just everything about the backyard. Our pooch enjoyed her stay as well.
