We really liked this house - loads of room for everyone! Kitchen was spacious and having two stoves, microwaves and dishwashers was really helpful. There was a strange lack of forks - only a dozen forks in a house that sleeps 16! Other than the fork issue, the kitchen had plenty of the basics we needed. The common areas were spacious so we could all be together and the pool area was good. The decks were great although the furniture is getting pretty weather-worn. Overall, the house is pretty good. Our main complaint is with Vacasa and their lack of communication. The beach access shown in the house description does not exist anymore - that beach is gone because of erosion. The beach to the south is closed to the public because of petroleum contamination from a former military base. This should have been communicated to us before our stay. Also, when the sea is rough and tides are very high there is significant overwash in the shared driveway and parking area. Vacasa sent us an email warning about parking our cars on the street - TWO DAYS AFTER the overwash started. We really feel that these things should have been communicated to us before our stay so we could have planned accordingly, instead we had to work things out for ourselves and make do. We will be reluctant to use Vacasa in the future.

Our stay at Native Sun provided us with one of the best vacation experiences we’ve had in OBX. The house was absolutely beautiful, clean, and met all of our groups needs. The kitchen was well stocked and items listed as broken or needing improvements in previous post were all fixed. The location of the property provided super easy beach access which we utilized every day. We absolutely loved our stay at Native Sun!!

House was wonderful had plenty of room it wasn't waterfront but good enough. The waves are loud enough that it makes it seem like you are right on the beach. Pool was perfect. Im still giving it a 5 star because my only complaint was the misinformation about trash pickup

This property over exceeded expectations. Clean, bright, updated and very well stocked. Tons of fridge space. Two ovens, two microwaves, and most importantly two dish washers. I can't wait to come back here again.

Good location and nice to have an elevator! Hot water works great. Nice to have a king bed in 7 of the 8 bedrooms that were nicely arranged. Also liked the large sitting area on the third floor and the views of the ocean.

Great beach access and plenty of space for the entire family without being on top of each other. It is an older house that could use some TLC but overall it was a great week!

It was a very nice home we had a great time loved the elevator nice view of the beach outdoor furniture was being upgraded nice to know they're trying to keep the place up only issue was the broken washer called maintenance said they called for service man but wouldnt give updates he arrived friday afternoon said he's only tech on island and a week behind nice gentleman said he would inform owner otherwise great

There were a few things that needed fixing like a missing piece above the microwave and the bottom drawer of one of the stoves. Also the fridge leaked a couple of times during the week into the bedroom below it. It wasn’t anything major. The house overall was amazing and fit the 14 of us very well. I loved that the main room and kitchen we’re on the third floor giving us all the sunlight and the best views. It was great that it had an elevator and had a bathroom and bedroom on the bottom floor that was handicapped accessible. I would rent the house again.

This house is great for a large family (8+) vacation. Space to accommodate all, great amenities, view of the iconic lighthouse right from the deck, and of course the beach! This was our second time in a row renting this house over the 4th of July week. Despite being probably the most popular week of the summer, Buxton still feels quiet and not too crowded. Including plenty of space on the beach and in the ocean. So you don’t feel on top of other families. We also MUCH preferred our experience with Vacasa to the prior property managers (a local realty that poster through VRBO). Place was clean and all set up on arrival, and check out was super easy. I’d recommend this place to other interested families.

overall everything was good, Would stay there again, having the elevator was a big plus, Only had a couple minor issues, 1. prior house cleaning was not all that great, There was trash and food still under furniture, 2. dishwasher did not work good ended up had to hand wash all dishes 3. there were light bulbs out
