Description

All the comforts of home await when you choose this charming, three-bedroom getaway on the east end of Hatteras Island. Enjoy the salty breeze and sea air from one of three decks, and then head for the beach, just at the end of the street. Inside, you'll find two levels of comfortable living space. The main floor features coastal decor and an open floor plan, combining the full, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room. The chef will love the full suite of appliances and ample counter space, including a standalone kitchen island, and the high-top table provides plenty of mealtime seating. After a day at the beach or community pool, use the outdoor shower to rinse off the sand, then watch a little TV together or retire to the bedrooms, each of which also has a TV. End the night on the top-floor deck, toasting your good luck at booking such a sweet beach escape. THINGS TO KNOW This rental listing is for the upper home.

The house is as it appears inside. Beautiful, well appointed. Unfortunately the beach at the end of the street was non existent during our stay. Again I want to reiterate that the house is lovely. The only reason I mention the beach is that from our experience if you have small children and want to walk to the beach we were unable to do that.

This is our third summer at the Holiday House, and we absolutely loved it as usual! The beach at the end of the street is still is recovering from the recent storm, but we had an awesome time doing ranger programs and spending the days at the beaches in the national seashore. Cannot wait until next year!

This was our 2nd time staying here, and we love it! Lots of room for parking, very spacious and clean inside with an open concept kitchen and living area, and close to the beach. It was nice to store chairs, umbrellas, etc in the sunroom and have outdoor deck space on all levels as well. Some things you might want to bring along: oven mitts, bag clips, scissors, coffee filters, foil, ziplock bags or tupperware containers for storage, spices. Some places I've stayed have provided these things but we had to run to the nearby Dollar General to purchase these items. Overall it was a great stay and we plan to come back next year.

Great place to stay with 4 individuals looking to fish or hang out. One person would have to stay in a bunk bed. Place was clean Great location for the Point!

The house was nicely maintained and clean. Perfect for our trip. There were plenty of dishes. There is also some cookware but I would suggest bringing some. We have already rebooked for the fall.

I picked this house because of closeness to beach. About 3 weeks before leaving I find out there are huge sandbags at the end of the street where you get on beach. We did not climb over them, drove to other beach accesses. There is not a lot of pots and pans in kitchen. Tried using a frying pan and everything stuck, so didn't really cook at house. Might want to take your own pillows, theirs are very flat.

We stayed again this year at the Holiday House and absolutely loved it. The house’s close proximity to the beach in Buxton, comfortable accommodations, and great set-up with several porches/fantastic outdoor shower make this a lovely home to stay in while vacationing at Cape Hatteras. It has remained very clean and very well-taken care of. Our family loves the National Seashore, which is within walking/biking distance of the house. We also met the owners this year, who are absolutely lovely. This house can easily accommodate a few more folks, but it is absolutely perfect for our family of three. We will be back!

The home offers easy and convenient access to the beach, and there are several restaurants and shops within close proximity. It is well kept and a lot of the furniture has been updated. The house was clean except the showers and shower curtain had some mildew, and the floor under the beds in the bunk room was really dirty. I only know that because I looked under the beds while trying to find the Roku remote. About a week before check-in, I was concerned about a beach closure in Buxton and a lady from the local Vacasa office actually drove to the home to make sure the closure did not affect us. I appreciated that. The TV in the bunk room upstairs did not work because the Roku remote was missing. I texted about it, but the only response I received was a text asking if there were batteries there. I responded that the remote that was there had batteries, but the Roku remote was missing (each TV requires 2 remotes). No other response after that, but no big deal. After the first night, the TV in the upstairs king room would not work because it was no longer connected to the network. Since I didn't receive a response about the remote, I didn't bother asking about this. The beds were pretty comfortable. The king bed upstairs was a little soft for my liking, but that's a matter of personal preference. The kitchen was pretty well stocked and spacious. I appreciated having a dishwasher and the full size washer and dryer was nice, too. At checkout, Vacasa asks you to sweep the floors and strip the beds. I didn't mind doing that, but just want to let people know. Overall, my family of 6 enjoyed our stay here and had plenty of room.

This place was spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was close to the beach. It is bigger than it looks in the pictures and has lots of storage and outdoor deck space too. There is a hose for spraying off and an outdoor shower, which were nice extras to have. The kitchen has a good variety of cookware and both a coffeemaker and Keurig. Make sure to pack extra paper products, dishwasher and laundry detergent, etc. as there is only a small supply of this to get you started for the week. It would also be helpful to bring foil, spices, oil, ziplock bags, coffee filters, etc as none of this is supplied (it has been in previous airbnb stays). There was a Dollar Tree and Dollar General close by which was convenient for getting extra supplies, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Tavern 12 for dinner and the Orange Blossom for breakfast were our favorites. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again!

This was a cute house with lots of space right next to everything you need! We walked to the beach, dinner, grocery store and souvenir shops. We were a little surprised there were only 2 umbrellas and no other beach equipment, but luckily we brought our own chairs. The only other complaint was just the lack of towels. There were 6 of us and only a few towels there so that was kind of annoying at times especially when everyone came back from the beach ready for showers! Other than that, we’d definitely come back and stay here again, the area was great!

This home was exceptionally clean and well kept. Amazing kitchen, all mostly new appliances, comfortable king beds. We especially liked the ultra modern washer and dryer adjacent to the kitchen.

We stayed at this home last October - it was in like-new condition and very good quality. It is sad that renters take little care of other’s property. But when we took these small issues to Vacasa, they were amazingly prompt in responding! Nothing was urgent, but they were there the next day! We hope we are able to stay here again next year.

Work done on the house showed impressive attention to detail. Loved the location a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The only two negatives were beach towels would have been helpful, secondly the cleaning staff forgot to make some of the beds.

The house was perfect. Unlike other houses we’ve rented, this house had a home like feel that was unbeatable. The location of this house is also great- we especially loved the close proximity to the sound beaches! Definitely recommend Tavern on 12 and Angelo’s in Buxton and Oceanas in Avon for restaurants.

I've been vacationing in the Outer Banks for 36+ years and have stayed in houses of all sizes and proximities to the beach. Holiday House ranked right up there with the best of them. It was exceptionally clean, felt very homey and we had the pleasure of meeting the owners towards the end of our week. They are wonderful and truly care about their home and the families who rent from them. It's an easy walk down the small street to the beach. If you are familiar with Buxton beaches, be prepared for the wide expanse of sand that is there now. What a difference! I highly recommend this home.

If you are familiar with Buxton beaches, be prepared for the wide expanse of sand that is there now. What a difference! I highly recommend this home.
