The welcome mat is out at HARPER HOUSE. Perched along the beach, HARPER HOUSE is host to super fishing, sunning, swimming and surfing. The adventurous will find the famed Cape Hatteras Lighthouse just a mile walk down the very quiet Buxton beachfront. Located at the end of Tower Circle, the ground level has good parking, 2 carports, shower and easy beach access. On level one oceanfront bedrooms one and two share a bath and have deck access. Bedrooms three and four have easy access to a hall bath and laundry area. Level two has a large great room with cathedral ceiling, half bath, entertainment center and resort furnishings that breathe the Hatteras life. Entertaining is a breeze in the large, well stocked kitchen with breakfast bar and ocean view dining. Guests will appreciate the accessory wet bar. Wide furnished sun decks wrap HARPER HOUSE on the east, south and west sides. Hooray for HARPER HOUSE! Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

We loved everything about this house and its location. We cannot wait to return. We cook a lot when we do the beach house vacation and were extremely pleased with the kitchen and its setup. A couple things to be aware of if your looking at this house. High tide comes to the house now, so there is limited beach space in front of the house, which gets shared by the others on the streets behind you. It never felt crowded, and people were courteous, but you don't have that large beach space in front of the house like other properties. This was a huge plus for me, some others may not like it so much. There are also a lot of stairs. That is to be expected for "on the beach" houses. This may be an issue for older guests or older dogs Part of the road and the driveway are sand. We had AWD or 4WD vehicles. I do not think it would have been an issue if we didn't, but that is probably something to keep in mind. All these are issues with a lot of beach houses, and no complaint at all on our part, just something to keep in mind as you plan a vacation. Again, can't wait to get back to this house. 42 years of OBX trips, and this is our current favorite.

This was a dream vacation for us. We took our terminal mother on her bucket list trip. It was amazing. This beach house was amazing. Outstanding views. Quiet area and mellow beach activity there. The decks are spacious and sturdy. There is an outdoor shower for you after beach activities. I’ve never seen so many. Beautiful seashells on any beach ever. The house is equipped with so many windows and sliding doors to enjoy every view there is to offer. Not only did the house have such amazing views. It is equipped with everything you need. Kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils for use. The bathrooms had plenty of towels and toiletries. The community was welcoming and mellow. The communication and staff experience was great. Vacasa made it so easy to book and arrive / depart. We seen some of the most amazing things during our stay. Kite surfers, jets flying over coast. Double rainbows 2 days in row. Friendly and funny seagulls. Lots of crabs at night come out and made it interesting to watch them everywhere. The house was everything we wanted. Right on the beach, quiet, peaceful, the ease of booking with vacasa. I can’t say enough. I would recommend to everyone friend or stranger. I will return as much as possible after this wonderful experience. It’s not just a beach house. It’s where dreams come true. Thank you vacasa. We will be back to the Harper house again!!

Our family of one set of grandparents, daughter, and 4 grandchildren, ages 7 to 14, loved this home. Roomy living room, dining room, and kitchen area large enough for all of us to be together very comfortably, with absolutely gorgeous views. Waves were very large so surfers were there to add to the entertainment along with dolphins. Literally, steps from the beach. The 4 bedrooms were nice and 2 had the same beautiful views as the living room area. A comfy, home with double porches that all enjoyed and would definitely like to visit again. Would recommend to our friends. Thank you to the Harper House for a great vacation.

Angel worked very hard to get sand removed from the entry steps to house. The ocean was very angry the first few days we were there. Water everywhere under house. We loved our stay even though very different from many other stays. There is plenty of seating in great room and the beds are very comfortable

Great location, loved being on the beach but we had so difficulty’s at check in. Check in was suppose to be at 5 but was pushed back to 7 due to maid service running late which was large inconvenience with 2 small children.

Nice home, nice pots, pans, glasses and silverware. Great view! Loved listening to the ocean so clearly when going to bed.

Perfect for surf fishing! Best to navigate area with a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Streets sand-covered or under water much of the time. Nice fish-cleaning area outside.

Quiet location with gorgeous beach views, also has beautiful views of the lighthouse. Home feels very homey and the inside is children friendly (no knickknacks or breakables). Only complaint is it needs some minor updating inside and maintenance outside. We found several unattached porch spindles and railings that made it dangerous because it being the top porch, there is a large drop. We didn’t allow our children in those areas, cause of safety issues. Looks like it has been that way for a while now. Other than that it’s a great home with a fully equipped kitchen, stunning views and the beach at your fingertips. Would definitely consider renting again if some maintenance was done.

We love this house with it being right on the beach. The road leading into it needs some serious work. People constantly getting stuck in the soft sand with cars where the pavement has degraded and disappeared. Parking under the house is a challenge also being very dry soft sand. 4 wheel drive is necessary but the driveway is solid concrete if you don't want to park in the shade. Comfortable, well appointed and s a nice "homey"feel. Sunrises from your deck are spectacular. Nice quiet beach without the crowds.

Nothing like being only steps from the water. Listening to the waves all day and night, sitting on the decks overlooking the ocean is simply wonderful. You forgot something? It steps back to the house... Bathroom? Mere steps away... Lunch? Run upstairs and grab something. Everything we needed plus was there.

Been staying there for 10 years God willing me and the family will be there for 10 more. The view is unbelievable!!! If mike (the owner) ever decided to sell I'm all in. Sharon from vaccacas office is fantastic helped me reverse the weeks I always want. Couldn't be happier.
