It was a very nice place and I liked the fact it was our own space and not shared. I felt the price was fairCheryl -

We arrived on Saturday. The house is adorable. It’s a rustic cottage. Very cozy. Sunday night ran the washing machine and it over flowed water and never drained. We cleaned up the water and reported it Monday morning. They sent someone out who came, left a note that they would send an appliance repairman. We contacted them at least twice a day for updates and to request clean towels. They kept saying they would get us an update and note that we requested more towels. The same back and forth went on for days. Finally on Thursday they told us that a repairman would come in Monday. We were leaving on Saturday. They also finally sent the towels on Thursday. We loved the house but we will never rent thru Vacasa again.Anonymous -

All amenities worked as they should, the water pressure for the indoor and outdoor showers were amazing. The distance between food, the beach, and the sound was perfect. Overall It was a great and comfortable stay for us and our dogs.Anonymous -

The Blue Pearl is a very old dwelling - it reminds me of the old lake cottages you used to see around small lakes. Small rooms, efficient and cozy. This one was well maintained, tastefully decorated in a beach motif. Modern appliances and hot water that was almost instant on. Great shower. As noted i previous posts, the king bed is very close to the floor. That is true - however, once you get in it - you won't mind. Slept well each night. It is a perfect place for two. It sleeps six, I wouldn't want to be there for that. May four - but it is 890 sq. ft., one bath - you do the math. I seem to remember in one of the descriptions it mentioning only partial A/C - It is fully A/C - very comfortable. Wi-Fi works great. The property is located on Hwy 12. Our initial concern was "traffic". Don't worry - after 8:30 - almost no traffic. It was quiet at night. The property is in a great location on the island. You are only 15 minutes from the ferry and about 15-20 minutes to Avon. A lot of great places to eat in Frisco & Buxton as well as close to beach access. It is a lot quieter in that area - not a built up and Avon and other communities to the North. We really liked the area. And we have stayed in Avon, Waver, & Corolla before - the Frisco/Buxton area is our first choice. We had one interaction with management due to a minor malfunction of an appliance. We called, they were happy to hear about it and had in fixed that day (within 4 hours). Their comment was, "we can fix it, if we don't know it is broken". Otherwise, everything else was well maintained and we had no other issues. The neighborhood was very quiet, again we were there the first week in May. If we can't get back into the Blue Pearl the next time - we will be staying in the same general area.Anonymous -

We booked The Blue Pearl on a whim and I'm glad we found this home! Although it's not situated directly on the water, its location was perfect. This historic beach cottage is close to the ground which made it easy for us as we were traveling with our Boston Terriers, Buxton & Hattie. Buxton is a senior dog with mobility issues, so we were glad that we did not have to walk up and down many flights of stairs! The Blue Pearl has neighbors close by, but the property was quiet. It is right on Highway 12, so road noise is to be expected but it did not impact our visit whatsoever. The interior of the home is charming! It reminded me very much of my grandmother's home and I appreciated all of the quirks that come with an older building (I think this home is 100 years old??). There are two mini splits in the home which kept us comfortable and warm. The bed is low to the ground, but we did not mind. Based on previous reviews, we brought an extra blanket with us but there were extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom. We were able to stream our favorite shows on both televisions. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, silverware, cups, etc. The bathroom was probably the coolest spot in the home, but we used a space heater kept in the dining room to warm up that end of the house. There were games and books to enjoy. We also added to the shell collection scattered throughout the house! Overall, we really enjoyed our long weekend at The Blue Pearl. It is close to Ramp 49, stores & restaurants, so its location is very convenient. It was the perfect size for us and it will be our top choice should we find ourselves needing a rental on Hatteras Island in the future.Anonymous -

Very nice stay at The Blue Pearl. Very cute older home (1962? marked on the septic tank). We loved that it only had a few steps into the house. Very nice house for a couple's getaway fishing trip. Loved the extra touches left for the holiday (disposable roasting pan, oven mitts and Thanksgiving theme items). We will book again.Anonymous -

We thought this little house was adorable and full of character. I wish there would have been some history written somewhere on this house that I could read because I would be interested in knowing it, being so old. The bed was comfortable, plenty of space for what we needed it for, air and heat worked great. Overall I was happy staying here.Anonymous -

Perfect beach cottage for our family! Super short distance from the beach and easy walk to the sound side. Very very clean and it had many cute little touches like a fish cleaning station, an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach, a full kitchen, and they had games for us all to play on the rainy days. There were some nice restaurants and bars near by as well. The location was actually really convenient especially being that far down on the island. Overall I’d definitely recommend this cute little house to my friends/family and will definitely be coming back!Anonymous -

The house was very cute, very clean and well decorated. Very close to ramp 48 and 49 and all our favorite local restaurants. Well stalked so we didn’t need to get anything and even had a fish cleaning station which was great for the guys. We had multiple families there and had plenty of space. Outdoor shower was convenient when we came back from the beach. They also had a few games there for us for game night. Would definitely stay again.Anonymous -
