We loved staying at this property over Christmas with our family. It was cold and windy during our stay, and we delighted in watching the birds from the comfort of the living room. I even saw shooting stars early one morning from bed (the north facing upstairs master). The kitchen was well set up for cooking and baking together. We hope to be back!

This place was great. Patio deck was great sitting on both in the morning and evening viewing both Sunrise and sunset. The area was very quiet and peaceful and view was just amazing. Definitely can see myself wanting to stay here again in the future with family. Great place, great location.

This home is surrounded by water views and feels both remote and close enough to enjoy the local restaurants, shops, and beaches. We would definitely choose this house every year for our OBX visits!

Amazing location if you are looking for a secluded feeling but still close enough to all activities! The house is very spacious and kitchen is well stocked for cooking, but definitely bring your own staples. They don’t supply the basics like salt and pepper/ olive oil ect.. The wind here can be pretty aggressive! At least that was our experience. Be prepared to feel the entire house shake! There are only a few pretty weathered outdoor chairs, if you have a big group you may want to bring some beach chairs or something for the deck. Enjoy your stay!

My husband and I stayed at Brook's Refuge for 4 days and loved the seclusion, the gorgeous view of the sound, and the hot tub. The house is certainly bigger than needed for 2 people but was not overwhelming. The house was very clean when we arrived (check in is quite late, 6 pm). The house is straight out of the 90s but with updated windows/doors. We loved kayaking on the sound and enjoying sunrise and sunset each day. The shoreline is sandy and we enjoyed taking walks on the property, watching fish fry, hermit crabs, and fiddler crabs. We saw over 30 bird species including oystercatchers, ruddy turnstones, osprey, etc. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals daily (pots, pans, knives, pot holders, corkscrew) but be sure to bring basics like aluminum foil, salt and pepper, etc or wait to visit Conner's Supermarket not far away. We had to restart the wifi once but otherwise it worked well. I texted Vacasa when this happened and they responded quickly. The hot tub was fabulous- especially on windy days that are bound to happen in OBX. The cable/satellite TV connection rarely had issues but this is again, to be expected. Visit Hatteras and Frisco beaches nearby. Wonderful stay, thank you!

This place worked well for my group of friends and I on our yearly fall fishing trip, plenty of room in the house, but the driveway situation was pretty tight for our group. Definitely stick to the 5 truck maximum. The location on the sound was awesome, the water was pretty shallow, but the view was unbeatable in all directions.

Everything went well as plan and everybody in the neighborhood was kind very peaceful place to be in I do recommend going back there
