Lose the shoes at beautiful Flip Flop Island. Located in the oceanfront Durant Station complex, Flip Flop Island is the perfect place to begin your love affair with Hatteras Island. This second-floor, upscale home is designed for life on the beach. If you choose, elevator access will deliver your guests, luggage, and groceries to your floor. The queen bedroom has laminate wood floors, a TV, and access to a semi-private bath (hall access) with a tub/shower. The full-size kitchen has tile floors, solid surface countertops, a breakfast island, a microwave, an oven, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and ocean views. The oceanfront living area has comfortable resort furniture with a sleeper sofa, a TV and DVD player, HBO, and DirecTV. Head outside to the furnished oceanfront deck with postcard views. Flip Flop Island welcomes one dog, so every family member can come along! At ground level, you will find a large fish-cleaning station, grills, and picnic tables. Elevator service is available to all levels. Just grab a luggage cart from the first-floor coin-operated laundry facility and roll your luggage to your condo door. Additional community amenities include high-speed internet and free WiFi, a community pool (available May to Labor Day), a hot tub (available from April to November), and an outdoor shower. The Durant Station Community Center is topped by the historic tower from the original Durant Lifesaving Station. This is the ideal location for corporate meetings, wedding parties, or for enjoying the space with family and friends. This area boasts a first-floor sitting room with a large flatscreen TV, an electric fireplace (available November to March), and an upper-level game room with a pool table and a complete kitchen. THINGS TO KNOW This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice. You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.

This location is great for visits to Hatteras village and particularly the beach with my husband and dog. We are repeat visitors and look forward to returning.

We have stayed at Durant Station 4 or 5 times now. Obviously, we like it! The beach access, the view, the elevator , are all positive factors. Flip Flop Island was very clean, and available by 4 instead of 5. We will be back.

My 2 teens and I had a blast staying here. The place was great. Very quiet. Dog friendly too! The place was very clean, beach was perfect, and great communication with management. Would rent all over again!

We loved this condo. It was in the perfect location. A great covered patio to sit and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee and listen to the waves. It was clean! I’m big on cleanliness and always fear walking into a new place that it isn’t going to be up to my standard and this place did not disappoint me! We would for sure stay here again.

The view from the balcony was great. We were on the second floor, so we could see the beach. We went for long walks on the beach, watched the sun rise over the ocean which was breathtaking. The pool was well maintained, and I really enjoy it.
