Description

The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views from every property. All condos have private oceanfront decks, as well as sound side decks for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul luggage and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast. Close enough between beach and the condo for quick meals and snacks, naps for the kiddos. This section of the beach is a surfer's dream location, surfing year round, easy access. Don't forget to take your fishing pole! Fishing station on site. Durant Station, you'll enjoy a host of amenities including one of Hatteras Island's largest private pools with an adjacent hot tub. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, wedding parties, and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas, which offer a large screen TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground. The parking lot and walks are paved with concrete. All retreats are tastefully furnished and fully equipped with linens to make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. All Durant Station condos have central A/C, cable TV with HBO, Satellite HDTV with DVR, wireless high-speed Internet for your laptop, solid surface counters in the kitchen, and sprinkler safety systems for your peace of mind. Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility (which even offers an ocean view). Some retreats have a stackable washer/dryer. This first-floor corner condo with a wraparound sundeck has a spacious main bedroom. Three TVs, two DVD players, a VCR player, and a stereo/CD/MP3 player are available to enjoy. A large separate fish cleaning station, BBQ grills, and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. THINGS TO KNOW This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

Great location and all we needed. We just could not stay the entire length of our trip due to mandatory evacuation from Hurricane Erin.

I loved the closeness of the beach with the convenient boardwalk crossover. This was a great value for me as I am on a fixed income.

Hatteras Hospitality is my favorite so far because of price and location within the Durant Station Condos. I have stayed at four of them, and the bed is the most comfortable. Sofa was plush and comfy. Deck wraps around the front and corner with a great view of the ocean. Everything you need to cook and bake with is there. Dedicated under the condo parking for two vehicles and direct access to the stairs that lead to the first floor. Condo is the first unit. I love having the well equipped laundry room on the first floor. Durant Station has an elevator and dumbwaiter. Love the master bedroom being on the sound side (if you want that view, go to the third floor) and not on the ocean side, as you don't get woken up with all that brightness from the sun. Love the large screened TV with a great selection of channels including HBO. Showers were very nice with plenty of hot water and water flow. I love renting off season, because I get to see some of the same people that rent or own the condos. It's nice to see the same managers who stay on premises, especially Edith (a wonderful lady) who comes in October. If you do any fishing, make sure you give some fish to Edith to show your appreciation. I love the fact that this condo does not allow pets. This condo is perfect.

This is the second time we stayed in a unit at Durant Station. This unit was very nice. I liked that it had the wrap around on the balcony and that the ocean was visible. I would book this place again.

Walk over a very nice boardwalk to the beach. Very nice lookout if you can’t or don’t want to walk on the beach. Home was lovely, clean, fully stocked. All appliances worked great. End unit has a large wrap around balcony. Overall great stay. Thank you to Vacasa and the homeowner(s)!!
