We had a wonderful week at surf and sound. The views of the sound were great and the location of the condo was perfect for quick runs into Hatteras village and catching the ferry. The condo was clean and everything worked fine. The only knock I have is it was a bit noisy from neighbors but that’s to be expected when staying in a condo. Thanks again for a great week.

Was clean, everything worked. Views are stellar. Loved the deck! Close to everything, was just the size we needed (very hard to find a 1 bedroom). Overall quiet but this is on the first floor so there is some noise from upstairs that cant be helped. The bathroom can be accessed through the bedroom so if you go to bed while someone else is still up there's a chance they might wake you up. Lots of nature to watch. This was our first vacation sound front vs ocean front and really enjoyed it much more.

This house had everythung we needed for our anniveraary get-away. The view of the sound was spectacular. Many bird sightings! Wish we'd brought our throw net and fishing poles because the bait was jumping!! Very relaxed and the people at the condos were so friendly. Thanks for our last minute get-away!!

We stayed here last year and loved it so much we just had to come back. The location is perfect, sitting on the sound and then just a short walk over the dune to the ocean. The condo was clean and is always well stocked. If you are looking for a getaway don’t overlook this rental!

The location was perfect! The unit was exceptionally clean & well-appointed! The floors were a little wonky in places, but it was not a big deal. Packages were delivered for the owner while we were there & communication with Vacasa was great about it. We loved it! Two things that could maybe improve our experience: 1. a kayak on property for renters’ use. It’s the perfect location for it! (Obviously, that’s not a deal breaker…it would just be a nice perk!) 2. A king size bed (Again, not a dealbreaker, but it would make sleeping better!) **A lovely place & perfect for a week’s getaway to Hatteras!

My wife and I LOVED staying at the Sound & Surf. Clean, welcoming, and very "homey" are just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe this great condo. The closeness to the beach was especially great. Walk across the road and up over the dunes and you are on the beach. Less than a five minute walk to the beach? Unbelievable! In addition, the proximity to the village is also great. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding into town for morning coffee. SO much fun! Most of the time, we bring our family to the Outer Banks, but this year just the two of us went. Sound & Surf was perfect for us. We loved it! We spent the last week of April at the Sound & Surf. For those of you who don't think April is a good month to visit, you're wrong. The weather was great and the crowds were low. No lines at restaurants; few people on the beach. What a great time!!

Our Family really enjoyed our stay at Surf&Sound. The views over looking the sound are amazing. The balcony is covered and private which allowed us to enjoy being outside during rain showers. The condo has been nicely updated and cared for. The condo was also very clean upon arrival. It was nice having direct sound access to explore and play in when the ocean was windy. The location is great we had nice morning bike rides to Dancing Turtle for coffee and great meals at all our favorite restaurants. We are looking forward to returning again. Thank you, JH

I can't say enough about the Surf & Sound: clean, friendly environment, great parking. Super ideal location with the beach directly across the street--over the dunes and you're there--maybe a 3-5 minute walk and so simple. We went in April and had the beach to ourselves. The condo was great! Easy distance to town, too. Perfect for two adults! The kitchen was awesome, nicely set up, and the living was comfortable, with a great couch and chairs. The balcony overlooks Pamlico Sound and is beautiful--great for morning coffee. Also, the bedroom was great, with a comfortable bed and great shower. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! This is a perfect place to enjoy your vacation in Hatteras!

Fully stocked kitchen with every utensil you could ask for. No need to bring anything! Beautiful view of the sound and the ocean is just across the road. Very relaxing with views of the sunset from the porch!

This was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had in a longtime. The easy access to the beach was awesome. We woke up every morning and had coffee on the deck watching the sound wake up with fish and birds. Then a short walk to the beach for a wonderful beach experience. Not too crowed at all . I had some of the best sleep of my life. I didn’t want to leave….BUT life calls and back to the rat race. But we will cherish our time there and look forward to going back.

This is such a relaxing location in Hatteras, and so quiet. Just minutes away from the ferry too. The place itself is small and clean. I do not recomend it for more than 2 people, especially given how the only bathroom is inside of the only bedroom. But for a couple it was perfect!

The view of the sound from the main living area is just as seen on the website - such a pretty area. Great sound views and quiet location. We like to catch or buy seafood to cook aat home. Kitchen was one of the best stocked for cooking that we’ve had in a beach rental even compared to much larger units. For example, a great selection of knives that were actually sharp! Thermal coffee to go containers. Tupperware for leftovers. Everything worked in the unit a felt new. A dehumidifier in case unit was damp. Checkin and out was easy with key code and email instructions

Positives first: It was quiet, private, and the best location out of any other we saw. It was clean. Amazing view. There’s a ramp where you can kayak from. There are places on island that deliver for free. I highly recommend taking advantage. The condo is on the sound and directly across from the beach. The neighbors are very nice. It’s the most well stocked condo I’ve ever stayed in. The bed is comfortable and so is the pull out couch (read the instructions. Trust me) Only draw backs is water pressure is a little down, but using the hand held shower piece is more than adequate, and I did have one issue but that wasn’t with the property, but with Vacasa. I arrived a day earlier than the rest of my family and there was no linen for the pull out couch. There are plenty of extra pillows and a quilt, but no pillow case cover or couch bed cover. So I called vacasa then used the text line after being on hold for over 10 minutes. They texted back at 2:30 in the morning saying they don’t provide extra pillows. I let them know again per my message I needed pillow case covers for the already issued pillows plus the couch linen. They again repeated to look for linen which in my first message I had told them I had looked everywhere. They then texted me they would contact the local office. At 9am I hadn’t heard anything. I called in. They assured me they would take care of it. 12pm no response. I texted.they said they would look into it. 2pm I called again. I was told I could go to the local office and there was a bin outside with it. It took 4 people to tell me this. Other than that everything was perfect and I’ll 100% rent through vacasa and I’ll stay at this condo again. It was perfect. I’d definitely talk to a person if you call and just know there might be a way to get linen if you need it.

We had a great stay at Surf &Sound Hatteras. The place was clean, modern and the kitchen was well equipped. Nice touch to supply some of the essentials like toilet paper, dish soap, sponge, etc. great views from the deck. Only issue was that the keypad lock would sometimes take many attempts to get it to unlock but it we called and are told that lock would be replaced. Highly recommend.

Everything was great!! Kitchen was completely stocked with cookware. Bed was very comfortable. Great for two people. Back deck provided beautiful sunset views. Wouldn’t really work for more than two guests because only access to the bathroom is through the bedroom. Location is ideal for going into Hatteras. Quick access to the beach, just across the street!! Will visit again.

The condo is situated between the Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, Only a small road separates the two. Our view off the deck of the Sound was incredible ,the bird watching was fantastic. A short walk across the dunes lands you on the Atlantic Ocean ,which in the height of the summer was never crowded. Lots of swimming, driving on the beach and beach fires were all enjoyed as was watching the fisherman. The condo is very comfortable and has many amenities, linen service and a fully stocked kitchen to make cooking a breeze, loved the dishes and the glassware. We didn't want for anything. The beachy décor was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the area quiet for a good nights sleep. The community has plenty of activities, shopping, restaurants, even a fish fry at the firehouse. It is close to the ferry for day trips to Ocracoke. We thoroughly enjoyed this condo.

Just bring sunscreen and a beach towel…and your fishing rod. Caught amazing red drum in the sound. We rented kayaks for the week and they get delivered right there. Seriously, I would come here every year.

On the Sound and Ocean - the sound is shallow and the kids loved playing in the water, and a little island even appeared off the pier at low tide. Great memories were made.
