RO21 Still Waters

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The home was exactly as described with the most beautiful views and ocean sounds. The location was perfect, quiet for the beach but close to food and activities on the sound. We would love to return for our next OBX trip!

The property was wonderful. I didn't realize the Jack and Jill bath was shared by the king and a queen room, but kind of made sense since it was oceanside. Absolutely loved the location so easy in and out. Even though it is a pet friendly property, there was no pet smell at all! I reported a stain on one of the bedspreads and shortly thereafter another was delivered which speaks well of Village Realty. I only wish the refrigerator was a bit larger.

We had a lovely family stay at Still Waters! The home is perfectly situated steps from the beach- our kids 7,5,3 were in the water from 8am every day! The beach walks, swimming, shell finding, sand castles, beach fires, fishing (trying!), grunion gathering and cozy house made for the best family vacation! It reminded me of how 90s vacations used to be! Thank you for sharing your home, we had a terrific time!!!!

I was very leery about renting an Airbnb from a rental/management company, but I would definitely rent from Hatteras Realty again. The house was v-e-r-y clean, free of sand (which seems impossible at a beach location). A dark blue sofa sectional in the living room was spotless, sinks & showers were sparkling (not even a smidge of mold in our shower or on shower curtains). Brand new coffee maker, which was lovely. Nice to have a fridge & kitchen cabinets free of any ancient condiments or left behind foods. We had plenty of bathroom & kitchen towels, toilet paper, and paper towels with plenty left over for 3 of us for 5 nights. They provide you w/ a type of "starter pack" of paper products, dish soap, a sponge, dish detergent, and laundry detergent. I appreciate the packaged bath/kitchen linens from where ever they must get laundered - it definitely puts your mind at ease as far as "Are these towels clean?". Overall a gorgeous house, gorgeous views, and a fabulous vacation!

This home was truly something special. The pictures don’t even do it justice—it’s even more beautiful in person. Every detail felt so thoughtfully put together, and you can tell a lot of care went into creating such a welcoming and peaceful space. Being able to stay right on the beach is priceless. We loved having the ocean just steps away. The kitchen was also very well stocked—we had everything we needed (and more) and were able to have a fun taco night together, which made it feel even more like home. This house is truly true to its name, Still Waters. It really is a place where you can slow down, be still, and just rest your soul. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful home with us. It meant more than just a place to stay, and we would absolutely come back again.

absolutely beautiful home, so convenient. staff was so helpful and responsive. the house made it so easy to relax even with little kids. they had toys and tvs in every room. the house was so close to the water the kids could run in and potty and get a snack without us having to go back and forth. my husband hates the sand and he was able to join the fun from the deck! this is the best house we’ve stayed at just for ease and convenience. hoping to save up to come back soon!

Perfect location and amenities. The house had all of the amenities you need for a beach house and it is right on the beach with no fuzz or walk. The downstairs A/C was not working, but the property team was responsive and provided timely responses alternatives to get it fixed.

Vacasa did a wonderful job with communication, home entry, and providing an immaculate home upon entry. The home is pet friendly and even has 2 decks that are safe for dogs to be out on. All the home materials were easy to clean from sand and pet hair. The house was well equipped with everything in the kitchen you would want during a stay; and also had toys, games, and puzzles for older and young family members. The home offers an unobstructed view of the sea which had dolphins playing every day. The beach from Feb. 22-28 was empty and our two dogs were able to run free. This was the best vacation imaginable in celebration of a 70th birthday.

Our week stay at Stillwater’s was in celebration of a 70th birthday. If we die tonight, we and our 2 Border Collies will have had the best last week of our lives. The upstairs and downstairs decks, and large sliding doors in the living/dining area, as well as the 2 largest bedrooms with large sliding doors, offered an unobstructed view of the sea. The home is warm and inviting and was immaculate upon arrival, equipped with everything we needed. The owners must have well researched the best materials and cloth for pets because cleanup was easy when it was time to leave. Vacasa did a great job in communicating about checkin and checkout.We had the seashore to ourselves during a sun-filled week when dolphin surfed and came up out of the water every day. The only thing we had not read about in the reviews that might be helpful for some people less ambulatory is the fact of 3 1/2 flights of steps from the driveway to the fridge. This home is truly a special gem; one of the best slices of heaven on earth!

The views were magnificent from the living area as well as the lower level where one falls asleep to the lull of the surf. For us we wanted to rest and relax in the sun, read and surf fish. The weather was beautiful during our entire stay. My husband caught several Kingfish from the surf for three dinners. We have vacationed in the Outer Banks many times over the years and must say this home tops the list. The kitchen is well equipped including the dual coffee maker for pods. We do suggest, however, that the sofa/loveseat be updated and that a non slip mat be added to the tub/shower especially for we seniors. The cleaning staff did a great job prior to our arrival. Again, we highly recommend Still Waters for your Outer Banks vacation.

This house is so cozy! You feel like you are on a boat. It is practically on the beach yet a bit protected from the wind and waves. Awesome location for sunrise of the beach and sunset on the sound. In between Pea Island and the national seashore, a nature lovers paradise! The kitchen is very well equipped and our pup instantly felt right at home.

It is a great little cottage on the beach for a winter getaway. We had trouble with the breaker going off and getting into the house, but the property manager via text was very helpful and got us the information we needed.

The waters were not still, but this was a great getaway. We were able to watch dolphin from the balcony, walk on the beach, pick up seashells, listen to the record player, play games, watch TV, or just do absolutely nothing in this lovely home. Our only regrets were that we 1. underestimated just how much would be closed in the off season and 2. more of our family couldn’t come with us. Even so, we were able to see the ponies on Corolla and Ocracoke, go jeeping on the beach, and visit area attractions like the Wright brothers monument, Jockey’s Ridge, all of the area lighthouses, as well as the aquarium on Roanoke Island. Oh, and Colbie (the doggie) got to come, and she had a fun time, too!

My family had a great time at still waters for our holiday. The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well-equipped with lots of equipment and check in/check out was a breeze. The front row seats ocean view from this home is incredible and the home is very comfortably appointed. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need to cook anything you want! There is a handy foot wash and shower on ground level so you don't have to track it too much sand, all of the beds are comfortable and the AC works perfectly. There are thoughtful touches such as a multi-charger for all of your phones, binoculars, and even a record player and some records and lots of puzzles and books supplied by the homeowner. If we could have changed our reservation for next year to this house we would have done so, unfortunately Vacasa will not allow that

What a beautiful place to stay at…the beach is right outside the house and it is so quiet at the beach not crowded at all. The house itself was extremely clean and had everything we needed for a nice and relaxing stay. The kids had such a nice stay in the pirate themed roomed and I loved being able to walk out on the deck in the morning with my coffee and enjoy the sunrise over the water. Overall one of the best beach stays I have had.

This house was more then we could have asked for. The view of the ocean is really great. The best is from the top deck!! It is set back one house length but with no house in front of you , you will love it! It truly is on the ocean! You only have to walk about 150-200 feet to set up a spectacular beach spot. The house offers everything you need and is very nice with the decor. There is only one complaint, and it is not with the house or the ocean view, it’s the cleaning company. The house in in structural order but it was not cleaned upon our arrival. And we are not picky people, but we spent about two hours vacuuming/sweeping and cleaning what should have been done. They did make the beds but that was it, there was food and dirt and sticky stains everywhere. They did give us the ok they were done cleaning , so we did not arrive prior. But still book this house, we were not let down and will book again!! But give yourself a little to clean upon arrival LOL !! Enjoy!

Really loved this location and the house! It was dog friendly and Vacasa (the property managing company) we’re super easy to work with and gave me no problems or fuss when my guests required service animals! The house was better in person and the views were great. The path to get beach access is right outside and the other neighbors were very friendly. Lots of people fishing, so seems like a popular spot for that as well. Also like the location of this house being basically beach front, without actually being in the water like many other NC properties - so we felt safe. Washer and dryer on site right by the bedrooms and front door is great. And the kitchen is a little outdated, but everything else makes up for it. Also rooms are a bit small, but you get large beds and TVs in there as well. Only downside I’d say is the tv in one of the queen rooms and the upstairs living room were really outdated and it was hard to navigate the TVs. The tv in the king bedroom was fine.

Our group of three adults and three children and one dog thoroughly enjoyed ourselves for our five night stay. There were a couple of items that needed minor repair, but overall the amenities and the provisions were quite satisfactory. The location relative to the beach was superb. I would highly recommend this property for a family vacation, and there is no question that we will definitely consider a return visit in the future.

This house was more then we could have asked for. The view of the ocean is really great. The best is from the top deck!! It is set back one house length but with no house in front of you , you will love it! It truly is on the ocean! You only have to walk about 150-200 feet to set up a spectacular beach spot. The house offers everything you need and is very nice with the decor. There is only one complaint, and it is not with the house or the ocean view, it’s the cleaning company. The house in in structural order but it was not cleaned upon our arrival. And we are not picky people, but we spent about two hours vacuuming/sweeping and cleaning what should have been done. They did make the beds but that was it, there was food and dirt and sticky stains everywhere. They did give us the ok they were done cleaning , so we did not arrive prior. But still book this house, we were not let down and will book again!! But give yourself a little to clean upon arrival LOL !! Enjoy!

The home was beautiful in a quiet neighborhood, as advertised. It was stocked with all of the basic kitchen necessities. The only issues we experienced were the bathroom GFCI outlets did not work in either of the lower level bathrooms. The maintenance person came out to evaluate and concurred that they were not operable on Monday; however, no one came to repair them until the end of our vacation on Friday.

We were new to the OBX and this was a perfect location for hanging out or exploring the Islands. Great beach views and access. Lots of interior and exterior space, lots of natural light and well furnished kitchen. We highly recommend!

This house is wonderful. The view of the ocean from both decks is stunning. Hearing the ocean and feeling the salty air is so incredibly healing! The house itself is very clean, nicely furnished, and the decor is updated and fresh. It has all of the amenities that you will need including a well stocked kitchen, coffee pot that brews and takes pods, larger cookware, tv's in 3 of the 4 rooms and also the living room, and a very convenient charging station! Most TV's stream and also have cable. Most importantly: IT HAS A LIFT! Perfect for hauling your weekly provisions all the way up to the top! That was a very welcomed and unexpected amenity. Everything worked well in the house and the beds were so comfy and fresh. There is a small (think Parkside) charcoal grill. If you are planning to grill a few large meals, you might consider renting a gas grill. If you like jigsaw puzzles, there is a nice game table for that. If you are up for the challenge, try solving the "Coastal Shells" puzzle. All of the pieces are there and it is very pretty when completed. We had no small children, but there are lots of games, toys, crayons and books for them as well. I could not get enough of our breathtaking, unobstructed view of the ocean. You will fall in love with Still Waters-I did!

Spectacular unobstructed views with the ocean just steps away! The cottage has everything you need: comfy beds, tv's, ample seating at the dinner table and a fully stocked kitchen including all the cookware you will need: waffle maker, coffee pot that both drips and uses pods, an electric fryer skillet, blender, and a nice charging station for electronics. Although not listed int he ad, there is an electric lift so no lugging everything up two flights of stairs. Everything was clean and fresh. The decks were nicely furnished and massive. Flatscreen TV's in all but one bedroom. There is a small charcoal grill on the property (think park style grill), so if you cook-out for a crowd, you may need to rent a large gas grill. The house is very cozy and comfortable and hit every need that we had. We can't wait to return! If you like jigsaw puzzles, try the "Coastal Shells" one, it's a challenge but all of the pieces are there and beautiful when completed!
