Inspired by the work of the renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, this four-bedroom, upscale vacation home boasts gorgeous hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, upscale heirloom furnishings, and antiques displayed in custom casework for you to admire during your stay. The well-equipped, sleek, galley-style kitchen includes top-shelf appliances, a double wall oven, and an attached bar with counter stools. This then opens to one of two dining areas with plenty of seating available for meals or family game nights. The large, one-of-a-kind living area blends upscale elements with true comforts as well as floor-to-ceiling windows and a TV. Adjacent to this is a cozy den with another comfortable seating area - perfect for quiet conversation or just relaxing with a good book and a mug of hot tea. And if you're craving some friendly competition, ascend the dramatic spiral staircase into the loft game room complete with a pool table, foosball table, game table, and a media area with a home theater system. Additionally and to provide even more convenience during your stay, this retreat features a butler's kitchen, which has a stove, sink, and a counter height sub-zero refrigerator with an ice maker. This room also has a laundry area. Step outside onto the furnished deck where you'll find a private gas grill for summertime cookouts, then step down to your very own hot tub. And when it's time to call it a night, this home features three stunning king bedrooms including the main suite with an ensuite bath and access to a second, private deck, as well as a teen or kid-friendly room with two twins just off the game room. Most visitors to Salvo and Hatteras Island come to experience the gorgeous, unspoiled, and secluded beaches where you can swim, sunbathe, kiteboard, and windsurf. Pack up a picnic lunch and head south to the Salvo Day Use Area on the west side of the island or take a drive on the sand accessible via Ramp 23, just half-mile south. Take a short stroll to browse the unique hand-crafted wares at Pea Island Art Gallery, a replica 1874 station house displaying paintings, pottery, woodwork, and glass by regional artists. If you want to do some pier fishing, check out the Rodanthe Pier, three-and-a-half miles north, or the Avon Fishing pier, less than 14 miles south. And if you need to pick up dinner, coffee, or sweet treats, you'll find cafes and restaurants just a couple of miles north alongside NC-12 in the Waves and Rodanthe areas.

I loved the house !!! If ur into a non-traditional beach house this is the way to go. Private pool. Private hot tub. Excellent !!! Inside house very clean. Exterior of the house in my opinion needs to be cleaned better and the shrubs need a major trim. But overall. Yes. I would highly recommend !!

We had to utilize the amenities as much as we can for how much we paid, we didnt even get to the beach because we enjoyed our stayed so much. Im happy the jacuzzi was hot and ready to go. It was very spacious, I cooked most of the time so I loved the kitchen, having a pool table was also a great touch, my family enjoyed it very much. Thank you again.

This Airbnb is truly a hidden gem! The property is full of charm and character, especially knowing it was once an old duck lodge. It has been thoughtfully maintained while preserving its unique history.
Our favorite part was the privacy—it felt like our own peaceful retreat. The pool was an absolute highlight, and we spent so much time relaxing and enjoying it. The location is also fantastic, with several beautiful, secluded beaches just a short drive away, making it easy to escape the crowds.
One helpful tip for future guests: bring a hair dryer if you think you’ll need one, as one wasn’t available during our stay.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with plenty of character, privacy, and a great place to unwind, we highly recommend staying here. We would absolutely come back!

Stay here if you are over the saltwater taffy coloured homes of OBX. The homes gives of the fine vibes of swanky grandparents form the late 70s early 80s. Very private. An expansive home.

The property was very beautifully laid out. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. It was a nice and peaceful getaway. The only complaint we have are that some of the amenities could use some updating/repairs such as the pool table and hot tub.

Better than the photos!

The amount of space in this home between the bedroom size of all 3 downstairs bedrooms to the use of all available cabinet space in the kitchen. They have thought of it all. The pool is a wonderful addition to this home, although it will feel impossible to keep all the leaves out, part of what we love about the OBX is the trees and beautiful plants while being on the ocean. There is an abundant amount of dining seating with 2 large Sunday dinner style tables inside and one outside as well. Not to forget the seats at the beautiful bar. There is a lot of natural light in this home and it is so comfortable and welcoming. Wish to come back next year!

The how is beautiful, with history and architecture and design that is lovely. Extremely clean, and beds were very comfortable! Perfect location as well, especially if you're looking to kick back and relax.

We loved the character of this beautiful home. If you’re a fan of architecture, you’ll love Hunt & Gather. Its design gives one the feel of the 1970’s but offers all the modern conveniences. The layout provided fun areas where members of our age-diverse group could retreat to for alone time, but also a large common space where we could gather together. My kids said the design was like a ski house at the beach! The pool and hot tub are welcome amenities for those days not spent at the beach. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

My family and I loved this place! It has a 70's lodge vibe which we thought was really unique. The wood was beautiful! Great for the kids because of the game amentities and the layout was perfect for family of all ages to hang out! The hot tub was a great plus too! We would love to return during the warmer months to take advantage of the pool. The house was very clean and any questions I had were answered quickly. Check in/out was simple and quick. I definitely recommend this home!

Family Celebration at Hunt and Gather

Our family booked Hunt and Gather for our first-time visit to the OBX. The home was spacious and spotless. I was relieved that the online photos accurately depicted what we were hoping for. The pool was a delight and cupboards well equipped for cooking. Location was close to both ocean and sound access, and Ramp 25 made it easy to set up fire on the shoreline. Despite the free range roosters that woke us daily by 6 am we created great memories!

Amazing Family Beach Vacation!

The house is fab! Large bedrooms & Kitchen tables, and all around great home to make some family memories! Best hit was the game room and beach access across the street. Our children loved the swimming pool. Only issue was pool was supported to be heated. That was a big bummer. Confirm beforehand and get a local contact of who is servicing pool! A credit was given due to lack of communication during our trip and pool service. All in all…it was an amazing vacation! One for the books!

Awesome place to stay

The place was great with a history behind it. Everything you need is there for everyone with a spacious house awesome pool and hot tub. The only complaint I have is that VRBO is who we booked with it was then sent to Vacasa which was horrible. We kept calling and calling because we never received an email to get into the house it is now 8pm 3 hours after the 5pm check in and vacasa told me that if I enter before the email I would jeopardize my stay as we are strict on it. They sent me the unlock code the day prior. So I just took the chance andwent in at 823pm. Still to this day I have not received an email to check in. Someone needs to figure out what is going on and fix it. Overall the place I highly recommended to stay here just make sure you get clarification first.

Unique House

Loved the vibe of this house and the decor of the main house! Bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious on main level!! Subzero frig in butlers pantry was nice added feature...added a bin of ice quickly for meals. Within walking distance to Day Beach and under 5 min drive to Ocean side beaches. This area is sooo unique to be able to see incredible sunrises and sunsets just by crossing the street! Fell in love with this area as our new vacation destination. Way less crowded...especially keeping covid in mind! Love, loved!
