The house was beautiful and everything was in perfect working order.. I want to Thank Hatteras Realty for the opportunity to stay at this house..as it was close to the beach and well within a short walking distance.. and it was amply supplied with kitchen supplies and toiletries which is something we had not experienced in the past..My family will definitely be back and are looking forward to renting from Hatteras Realty again in the future..

Our family had a fantastic time staying at this home on our vacation. It was large, it was clean, it had everything we needed, it was easy walking distance to beach access. The widow's walk was our favorite place to sit and hang out.

Overall we enjoyed staying at Sandy Cay. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing location, this is it! The neighborhood is quiet and the house is only a short walk to the beach. The beaches here are not very crowded, which was a big plus, and the community as a whole is not terribly touristy. There’s enough to keep you busy but it’s not overwhelming. The house has a very welcoming homey feel. We loved the view from the rooftop deck. The upper deck is perfect for getting lots of sun, and the lower deck is perfect for relaxing in the shade. The screened-in part of the deck became the favorite room in the house. If you’re bringing a large group, there is plenty of room. We had a group of 7, including 4 teenagers, and everyone was quite comfortable. We cooked most days, and the kitchen was more than adequate with plenty of counter space. It has a variety of pots and pans, utensils, and bowls. Plenty of dishes and cutlery. It even has cake pans and your grandma’s ancient hand mixer that has withstood the test of time. There is access to a community pool , which was nice. They have clean bathrooms and shower rooms, and a separate baby pool. But be aware that it is 20 minutes away in the next town. This did not deter us, but I did not realize this prior to booking. And none of the previous reviews mentioned it. Overall we loved it at Sandy Cay and we would stay here again.

Myself and some friends decided to book a beach getaway in the Outer Banks. This how was quite affordable, is in a great location, and has plenty of room. I wish there had been more game/beach related items on property. The screened in porch and crow’s nest were the highlights of this house! We loved our stay and would book again.

Our third visit to Sandy Kay! Nice how it's reasonably close to beach access. The large living room has lots of comfy seating and while the 4 bedrooms are not large, the beds are very comfortable. Nice food pantry adjacent to the kitchen, very helpful. Kitchen is quite serviceable, with a big peninsula countertop; 2 or 3 people can actually cook together. We love hanging out in the crow's nest up top at sunset (however, one should use caution and not allow small or rambunctious kids up there.) Generally a great beach place!

Nice, location close enough to beach. Great design for larger family, nice privacy, quiet at night for sleeping, cool and comfortable. Slightly dated but overlooked that, it is a beach house. offered outside showers, wonderful decks and screen porch. Enjoyed our stay very much and would go back.

The bedroom layout is very well designed. The property is well maintained. It is close to the beach. There are a sufficient number of bathrooms for all guests. Salvo is a great `out of the way` little town to enjoy the island life without the commercialism of towns further north. The hot tub worked very well. The house was very clean and did not smell of musty odors, dampness, mold, or pets. We noticed that the furnace filters were freshly changed upon arrival and cleaned/inspected tags on all toilets and bedsheets. Further, the customer service from OBR was outstanding.
