SOSB33 7 Day Weekend

The home had a perfect layout for our group. There are some repairs needed to the windows. 2 leaked with the heavy rain. The kitchen pans, dishes, storage containers could be improved. There are not any large bowls for serving meals. With our large group and cooking all meals, it was a challenge. Overall we loved the home and the new deck was amazing.

The house is great, there was a few small issues we had. The master bathroom blinds don’t close, the decking on the balconies feels unstable, a screen door was ripped, things like that. We also couldn’t use the fridge for 2 days. Overall the house was very clean and had everything we needed, but for paying so much to rent it, our expectations were higher for somethings

We had a wonderful time. This was the first time staying in this area. It was a great experience very different from our previous stays in other locations. The house was perfect for our needs. Especially the elevator, it made it so much easier for me to get around. The kids loved the pool and the of course the pool table and entertainment room. We would definitely stay here again.

The walk to the beach is a bit far as others have stated, but in the early morning you can hear the ocean from the deck. If you hate sand walking like me, there is a boardwalk to the left of the dune entrance as you walk towards the beach. The home was perfect for what we needed. The living room/dining area is big enough to gather. The outside pool area also has ample space. WiFi is terrible, we had to use an alternative, others used their hotspot on their phone. The tv in the main room didn’t connect to anything, so something to keep in mind for those that it would matter too. There was a 12 cup coffee pot, but no filters, so pack those. It took two trips to stores to find them stocked. The dishwasher takes forever to run, and as stated the dryer is slow. The property had shampoo / conditioner / body wash in all of the showers, but sadly the time we needed it we found it wasn’t filled. They also provided hand soap, a sponge and some small things for washing dishes. We opted to get some dishwasher pods though, since they only provided two packets of powder and we had a big group. There are nail pops in the deck, so have slip on shoes for kids to go in/out. My kid wore sliders or water socks (if by the pool). We also opted for out water socks for the walk to the beach too, as you need to walk on asphalt. We saw multiple rainbows and got lots of shells. The property is about 15mins from a Food Lion and just minutes to some local restaurants and gift shops. It is well situated for a group not looking to sight see but stay put for the most part. Also, it seemed like while it rained 2mins away or in one case , a street away, this area seemed to get less rain during our stay than reports back from friends shopping about the area. I am not sure if it was a fluke, but we didn’t mind. If we had to do it all over again, we would book the same place, but bring coffee filters. :)

We enjoyed our stay, the property had plenty of space for 12 people. The pool area was nice, and my elderly mother appreciated the elevator, which was also great for carrying luggage and groceries to the main floor. The beach was nice, not crowded. It was a little further than I expected based on other reviews. I tried bringing my beach wagon, but once you get to the entry point for the beach, you have to go over two dunes to get to the beach, so only take what you can carry. The area across the main road was a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Overall, we loved the property. I was glad I brought a Keurig for coffee, because there wasn’t one. The kitchen had enough cookware and utensils to get by, we were able to prepare all our meals with the stuff provided. There were some signs that the property is dog friendly, there are scratch marks on the master bath door because someone clearly locked their poor pup in there, and some chew marks on the bottom of bed. We have dogs (that we didn’t bring) so that didn’t bother us, but if you want a pristine house, I figured it was good to note.

There were 11 of us there for a week.. house is big and we never felt crowded at all.. master bath is beautiful! Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the appliances and items needed for us to cook. It is a short walk to the beach so it is not necessary to drive there. We loved that there were decks on all floors. Pool was clean and we all spent time in the pool (especially the younger kids). Other than a few minor housekeeping issues, this is the perfect home for a large group. I would definitely book this property again and would recommend highly!

We had to do back up plans for every plan we made because no one was open. Even had to drive to in land for a sit down breakfast spot.

Lots of space, great views, well stocked and comfortable. There are a few cosmetic issues that could be fixed, but they didn't disrupt our vacation. There was a problem with the refrigerator but customer service was awesome and by the next morning, the fridge had started cooling on its on so we canceled the repair ticket. Elevator is great for handicapped and or elderly renters, plus saves the back from lugging so much up 3 stories. We would definitely stay here again.

House exceeded my expectations, very clean and ready for a family stay. Would recommend! Only recommend service on dryer! 4 hours to dry load of towels?

It sure felt like a 7 day weekend in this house! The layout of the house was perfect for our family, the kitchen was fully stocked, the sun and hot tub was in direct sunlight all day long. It was about an 8-10 minute walk to the beach which wasn't too bad for the adults but was a hike for the smaller children. All in all I would recommend this house!

The house was very nice and spacious! Loved the pool area with hot tub with outside sink. We rented golf carts which made our trek to the beach easy! Would recommend this home.

We were a little concerned when booking this property after reading some of the reviews from the last 2 years. However, we found no issues with the house. It was clean, in very good condition, the location was awesome (there were typically only 1 or 2 other families on the beach between us and the national seashore), and the pool setting was perfect for our big group to spend time together. We really enjoyed the sunset views from the front and back decks. We cooked-in 6 of the 7 nights and the kitchen had everything we needed to make gourmet meals. We had 2 dogs with us, but noted no dog smell in the house. The dogs and our entire group enjoyed the expansive views from all the living room windows. We would definitely book this house again!

Make sure to bring ESSENTIALS, we ran out of tissue and THEN were told we are responsible for additional tissue. Now I’m not sure if that was the case because it was THX-giving.

The home was very nice with a short walk to the ocean or a quick (about a minute) drive to the sound. I think just almost all bedrooms had attached bathrooms. They have plenty of silverware, dishes and pans. Bring a beach chair and some sunblock and get ready for OBX!
