The only problem we had was a problematic WIFI router. We reported it on a rainy Sunday and the response was very positive. Eric came out, diagnosed the problem and fixed it...even though we said not to bother till Monday, he said, no problem it's my job to make things right.

Nice older place with character; books on OBX storms and surfing were cool; awesome balconies; private large front yard; the dune very tough to cross—everyone will have trouble getting over it

Great house. Did have high sand dunes to cross to and from the ocean but so did all other houses there. Does need some minor electrical work done (power cord would fall out of the sockets) but overall very nice house

We had a terrific stay at Big Break with the family. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The views of the ocean from the top deck were enjoyed during morning coffee and the star gazing in the evening was amazing. We were surprised to see a Space X rocket one night soar across the sky. We would definitely recommend this home and hope to visit again soon.

While we were there, at 430 am I woke up to realize the ac was not working. I started messaging vacasa. After checking the breakers, they had someone out there by 9am. Additionally, the microwave started sounding like a firework. They had someone there within an hour to give us a different one until they could replace the over stove unit. Overall, vacasa was very on top of concerns we had. The house was very clean.

This place was fantastic! It was small, but so was our group this time, so less was definitely more! There were some hiccups in the beginning, but the staff took care of it almost immediately and were very friendly and accommodating. Decks were fantastic and the commute to the beach was great! It is a steep up and over the dune, but nothing that should pose a problem to someone in reasonable shape with no incapacitation. And there was a slightly more meandering route for those that preferred an easier route. Overall, I highly recommend this spot. Just not on any week that we might want to re-book!

We completely loved the home and location by the ocean! The sunrise was beautiful from the top deck, and the beach was just a short walk out from the house. We saw a whitetail buck walking along the dunes behind the house one evening--very beautiful. We traveled with 3 small children ages 4-6, and they LOVED walking the path over the dunes and playing on the beach. The home has a cozy rustic feeling that we really enjoyed as well with lots of artifacts from the ocean and thoughtful ocean themed decor. It was perfect for us :)

The cottage was clean. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable. The kitchen was stocked mine. Couches were comfortable. Decks were well maintained, I like having a picnic table on deck. Laundry room was clean and washer and dryer nicely with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and utensils including a set of knives that could actually be worked nicely. Good Internet connection. used to cut a piece of meat. The showers had good water pressure The master bedroom had plenty of room in dresser drawers to unpack clothes Laundry basket was welcomed as I forgot Easy access to the beach. The driveway was easily accessed and well maintained.

Very peaceful , relaxing time! Friendly neighbors in a quiet neighborhood. Steep hike over the dunes to the beach but absolutely gorgeous once you get there!

The home was nice had everything we needed deck was beautiful. Enjoyed having my coffee on the deck every morning listening to the birds sing just relaxing one thing I had to get used to was walking to the beach. The dunes were very high.

Very comfortable beach house with easy access to a wonderful part of the beach. My dog chases the birds up and down the beach and says hello (politely) to everyone fishing. I love having coffee up top at the house looking at the dunes and beach in the morning.

Very nice, definitely dated, which did not bother me. Reminded me of growing up in my home in Connecticut. I wasn't able to climb dunes,missed swimming, didn't want pool time. But from 1 to 10, overall Id say 8.

We loved Big Break! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Love all the decorations in the house and the screens on all of the windows and sliding glass door! Never experienced any problems with the house during our 2 Wk stay. Very pleased with Big Break!

We were welcomed to a very clean and cool house! The views are amazing and the location is perfect! The dunes are big, but totally doable! Questions I had before the trip were answered quickly and thoroughly! We hope to rent this house again!

The cottage is not new but it is clean, up and running appliances. The outer beaches realty is very helpful

Stay was great, couldn`t have been better. Great Clean House, Bedrooms had Excellent Mattresses(Most Important) with Ceiling fans over each bed and dark curtains, add in Beautiful Sunsets and Nighttime Stargazing for an excellent stay!!!! We enjoyed our stay and all the work by Outer Beaches to manage and strive to make our stay enjoyable, especially since Dorian hit the island just before our rental period started. We enjoyed relaxing on the decks and in the large open and comfy living room. Loved how spacious the kitchen was. The home had that `beach` feeling. Glad the driveway was paved.
