We really enjoyed staying in this home. It was beautiful weather the whole time. Vacasa answered all our texts. Wonderful communication. The only thing I could suggest is a better bed in masters and a TV. But really we aren't complaining. We were happy with everything.

When you want a house on the beach with the views and comfort, this is the one you need. It was located close to stores and restaurants yet felt like it was miles away from everything.

We loved the beautiful home on the beach. It was well equipped and had lots of amenities.The housekeeping crew that cleaned before our arrival did a poor job and I reported the issue. I had a quick response and satisfactory resolution.We only had four in our party, but this spacious home could accommodate more people and still provide plenty of privacy.

Very nice house! Everything was clean and put together well. All kitchen utensils provided. Had a fuse blow but text vacasa and we were able to fix it right away after was told where breaker box was. Awesome inground pool! Basically had our own private beach. Only recommendation is a big umbrella for some shade by pool. This was our first family vacation since our kids were 19, now 34. Also had our 23 month old granddaughter who absolutely loved the beach and pool. .

My Family and I have been vacationing at the Outer Banks for a few years now, each year we stay in a different home but much always be ocean front. The MacMurren was big enough for my family of 8 to to have there own space. The game room was amazing plenty of room to hang out and play pool . My family and I enjoyed our vacation at MacMurren.

This was the first VRBO house i have ever rented that I didnt need to go buy anything for. Very well stocked with everything you may need. The pool was absolutely amaxing and the brach was so close! The hot tub was so nice for relaxing after a long day of playing in the sun.Will book this place again for sure!

Given that it rained most of the week we still made the best of it. Location is awesome, given the tropical storm a lot of the beach was gone at the beach access by the end of the week. I look forward to booking again as well as with Vacasa.

The house was clean, pool and hot tub well maintained. Super close to the beach and area attractions. My only real issue was with the dishwasher which leaked and the management company came out, told us it required a part and we never heard anything else. A little frustrating to have to hand wash dishes all week for 8 people, but a minor inconvenience overall.

House was great. Well maintained and clean, nice layout with plenty of spaces to get away from the group if you want to. Good location, with nice driveway. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Short walk over the dune to the beach. Our third year in OBX and this was our favorite place so far.

This house is very nice especially for a multi-couple/multi-family gathering. Very comfortable set up, great pool, and good beach views. Waves is quieter than other parts of the OBX such as Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. It has a nice home-town feel about it.

We loved the everything about the home and location except for checking in. We arrived at 4:00 p.m. I called Guest Services to see if they could let us in one hour early. The answer was no. We had to sit in the driveway for one solid hour waiting for 5:00 p.m. We felt this was unnecessary. I could understand if we arrived at noon or 2:00 p.m., but making us wait for an hour was rather silly since there was no one there and the cleaning service was gone by then. Other than that, the home and location were lovely.

How was amazing and had all the space amenities our family and three kids could ask for. Plenty of kitchen supplies to cook meals. Beach access was perfect and the view from the balcony was amazing for morning coffee. We loved the library and enjoyed looking at the many photo albums of the house throughout the years. Would definitely stay again

Relaxing time. Beautiful beach and home. We enjoyed cooking, watching tv, walking on the beach and just generally hanging out. Watch out for the prickly along the grass!

This property is amazing. It is right on the beach ocean side. It is really almost a private beach this time of year. One negative is sand spurs. They stick in the bottom of shoes and cling to clothes and towels. All in the carpet! Cannot walk around barefoot inside. We loved the view! The vertical configuration allows one to see over the dunes to the water and waves. The deck is a great viewpoint for amazing sunrises. Of course, that means four flights of stairs. It was hard for me due to inflammation in my knees and back. I'm 65 and in good shape. Many older people could not make it up tge stairs with luggage or groceries. It really should not be rented to anyone with mobility issues. Stairs and beach access over a large dune would create access issues. Younger adults and families with children would be perfect. The hottub was leaking and the pool was covered for the season so that was sad. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it daily. We bought fresh fish and crabmeat just down the beach.We enjoyed a fire on the beach and chased large crabs with dip nets. The shells were large and intact on our beach. Birds were everywhere. We flew kites and walked for a long distance. It was a lovely time spent together.

Great amenities, very comfortable, awesome beach and waves. Only issue was distance from restaurants.

We're a family of five, with all of our children between 7-11, and this house was perfect for us. The pool, hot tub, and pool table all got use during our week long stay. The walk to the beach was easy for us as well, overall very good experience. The only issue we had upon check-in was unswept floors. We spent the first 40 minutes cleaning when we got there, so I reached out to Vacasa about the issue. They offered to send a cleaner, but by that time we were already completed with the task so I recommended a refund of our cleaning fee, to which they obliged! Very pleased with how they handled the situation, so much so that we booked a new house for next year through them already! Definitely recommend the house, and Vacasa from our experience!

Great location! Great pool! Great layout. Well stocked kitchen. Keyless entry wouldn’t work upon arrival, but Robert at the Waves office was extremely helpful and got us in quickly, then sent a repairman the next day to fix the problem. Did see some roaches on the deck, but none in the house. Would definitely stay there again!

The view and house are great!

Our family has stayed in Waves for probably 10 straight years during Thanksgiving. My brother lives there, and the rest of us have rented a bunch of different homes in that area over the years. This was most definitely one of the best. Many that we've stayed in have been fairly similar to one another (nice, but essentially three story boxes on stilts). MacMurren was unique. Perhaps a bit older... but it a good way. It was vintage, but very clean and charming. Loved the open landing between the 2nd and 3rd floors. The first floor game room was more welcoming and worthy of hanging out than some of the others we've visited (ie variety of chairs, lots of space, pool table, kitchenette). The second floor inside hot tub was a completely unique experience. Not only sheltered from the elements, but also seating for those who didn't want to join us in the tub, which worked. Lastly, the 3rd floor ocean facing deck was one of the best that we've had over the years. We spent most of the early parts of our days sitting there and chatting in the sun, with every so often someone saying as they gaze out... "Isn't this awesome?!" Which it was. Thanks to the great hosts! I'm sure we will be revisiting this home.

The house was the best and cleanest we have ever stayed in. Already booked our next year's week!! The pool was exceptional as was the whole set up. Everything we ever would need on our stay was provided. (Kitchen supplies, reading materials, movies etc) we had a most relaxing, enjoyable much needed time away.

Overall, this home was great. Cleanliness was great overall. I loved the layout and view from the back deck as well. Tons of dishes, cookware, bakeware, and so on. Also, the picture albums of the home show it was there for a long time, even before they had any neighbors. It was cool to see what the area looked like back then. The bathrooms were good, nothing super fancy, but nothing problematic either. Standard baths, showers, etc. Lastly, the pool and indoor hot tub were great. The pool is about 5.5 ft. at the deep end and it was a pretty good size, even for a family of 7. In case you're wondering, the pool lights do work, you just need to turn on the switch for them in the outside breaker box on the side of the house (by the pool pump). The lighting was wonderful in the evening. The best part of the home is that it's right on the beach. You literally walk past the pool, over the small dune (we pushed a stroller), then you're on the beach. We don't like populated beaches either and this beach in September wasn't very populated at all. Very family friendly, few people, mostly families.

This house fit our 2 families perfect. In addition to a nice layout the house has just about anything you could need. From a griddle (clutch), to multiple coffee pots and every pan you could need, everything we needed we found. While the house itself is great the real show stopper is the pool and beach. The pool has built in seats for the adults to enjoy and was big enough for everyone to be in at once. For me the beach is why people come to the OBX and the beach here did not disappoint. This was our first time down south so far but it won’t be the last. Minimal crowding, perfect water temperature and constant breeze made the week such a joy. Only 2 complaints if we are nit picking is lack of life guards on beach and inability to see the waves crashing from the house. All in all we will be looking to return next year same week if the MacMurren family will have us back.

Awesome house! From the movie theater room, to the indoor pool and hot tub to the TV in every room, and bathroom in every bedroom. The pier walkway is like a nature trail at 1/4 mile long.
