WVSIH1 Whale Song

Great house in a great location. You get a hint of ocean view on one side of the top deck and a pretty decent sunset view on the other side. Plenty of bathrooms and space for our family of 7. Saw a free tiny ants near the sink, but nothing crazy. Probably the best equipped kitchen of any vrbo I've used. They had ever kitchen utensil I could want.

This was the perfect little getaway for my family. Very nice and quiet area. The house was great from cleanliness well equipped with towels linen etc. Very close walking distance to the beach as well. 10/10 recommend and will definitely book again in the future!

It was pet friendly, was the main reason, but once arrived, found the location very nice and house was nice. Would recommend to friends and family.

I don't normally write reviews. This house was simply wonderful for our family. The house was clean, simple check in and check out instructions. We were on a very nice street with the beach within walking distance. There are local shops and restaurants near by. We just simply loved our vacation there. The only thing I would ask to change would be to put out enough toilet paper for a family of 7. As side from that minor detail, it was just wonderful! :)

This was our second stay at Whale Song, and it was just as good as the first. The location is perfect - just on Hatteras Island and near a relatively quiet beach. We didn't need to venture any more than two miles in either direction to get everything we needed for a week. The house is about 30 yards from a beach access walkway over the dunes. We love the layout, with a large living/dining area upstairs and tons of comfy seating. The bedrooms are smallish, but that's not a big deal. Hot tub is a nice addition and a great spot to relax under the cover of the top deck. Decks all around the house on second and third levels mean there's always shade or sun somewhere, and people can spread out. Only downsides: master bathroom and shower are tiny, the kitchen table only seats four (maybe five) people, and there's no pantry and not much room in kitchen cabinets for food. Also, be warned: The trek over the dunes to the beach (and back) can be a challenge on hot sand. There's no wooden walkway to help you with your footing, and the hill is quite steep.

I stayed here in late Sept / early Oct ~ the first floor has several bedrooms, all good size and 2 restrooms. The upstairs is a nice open floor plan w high ceilings, lots of windows and spacious kitchen. The deck off the upstairs level wraps around 3 sides of the house. Great for sun or stars. This is a very nice for a family, a couple or just a single person w their dog who wants to get away. Comfy furniture ~ very nice home.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very well kept, with a really nice open common area on the top floor. The entrance to the beach was about 100 yards from the driveway, so it was just a couple minutes walking to get out to the beach. The town had a few small grocery stores within 5 minutes driving, which had most of what you'd need for a week stay (including a good beer and wine selection). All in all, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place! Thanks!

Great ocean views, great location! Kitchen fully stocked. Hot tub looked new & clean. Bathrooms were nice & updated. Our first time visiting Waves.
