Wonderful place to stay the week! a couple helpful tips for future guests. The parking is only big enough for 2 full size vehicles and the laundry is under the house. You have to go outside, its not accessible from the inside.

We stayed in this house last week. it was very clean and pretty nice. Access to the beach is going to be difficult for people with mobility issues due to the drop from the dune to the beach. it's a doozy.. The toilet on the bottom floor was not fastened to the floor and the A/C felt non existent at times and we were forced to open windows at night to stay cool. The driveway is small so if you use two cars to get your party to this rental, good luck! it's tight! The upstairs bathroom is big but the shower is tiny. the downstairs bathroom is tiny but the shower is adequate. both showers have fixed shower heads and the water pressure could have been a little bit better. For the kind of fees charged to rent this property, you would think it would have come with sliding doors that actually lock, but instead you are using sections of pvc pipe lodged in the track to prevent the doors from being slid open. I give this house a 6 out of 10 simply because of all the present flaws in this property.

The house was amazing. The only flaw is the tiny shower in the upstairs bathroom. It was a very easy walk to the beach. The sunrises and sunsets viewed from the very top deck were beautiful. My grandson and I enjoyed the arcade game we played it often.

This was our 4th year staying at 44 Seashells and it was the best yet. Some much needed repairs were made in the last year. There also seemed to be a new vibe simply by moving some furniture around. The distance to the beach is great and Dairy Queen the opposite direction. This home really takes good care of us. We enjoy it greatly and thank the owners for sharing it!

This house is in a great location - close to the beach. We enjoyed walking there daily. It was clean and welcoming upon arrival and we found everything we needed for the week in this house. Kitchen is perfectly outfitted for cooking for group. We enjoyed the decks at sunrise and sunset too - great views! Our only wish is that the mattress on the sleep sofa upstairs was actually a mattress and not a mattress topper - it was impossible to sleep on. I would recommend a twin over full size bunk bed in the upstairs bunk room so there is another larger bed available. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would recommend this house.

My brother and I stayed here over a long weekend. We were surfing so we were only there to sleep, and chill at the end of the day. However the home itself is so cool! Love the style, super spacious and just feels homey.

This home was perfect for me and my husband. The beach was a short walk and make it easy to come and go throughout the day. The home was charming and the birds nest was great to catch a cooler breeze in the morning and evening hours. We would come back and visit again!

We really enjoyed this house, appreciating many features including the short walk to the beach. This bright cheerful house has a comfortable layout. Great kitchen to cook in which we did every day. The grill was a plus. Bedrooms and mattresses were comfortable. The out door shower was great. We loved the over look deck on the roof and the second floor was perfect for kids. Waves is a nice comfortable town with just enough shops. Make sure you check out Waves Market and Deli for some wonderful food, Island atmosphere and friendly folks! We didn't miss home!

We loved the location, very close to the beach and the layout of the house with al lot of outdoor spaces was great! Especially that roof terrace! We loved the kitchen supplies as most rental kitchens have terrible pots and pans and this kitchen was super well stocked. My family really enjoyed the mini arcade and the selection of games and books. The bed in the main bedroom was not the most comfortable but nothing ever compares to your own bed. We also didn’t like the fact that we needed to sweep and vacuum as part of the check out. Most places take care of this part. We will definitely be back!

This property was just as described, a short walk to the beach. We were in Waves to attend a family member's wedding and even though we were experiencing the rain and high surf from 2 hurricanes we had a great time. The house was beautiful, roomy and comfortable.

We really enjoyed the space of this house. It was in a great location and clean! The only thing we did not enjoy was there were some people renting a house across the road from us who partied all hours of the night and were really loud all the time.

We had a great time at ‘Dune your thing’. Pros: Very short walk to beach and drive to the Salvo day use area on the sound side. Affordable. Great location. Had more kitchen supplies, dishes / glasses / utensils / blender, then anticipated. Lots of counter space. Second floor had dorm size refrigerator which was a bonus. Loved the deck space we just were not able to utilize due to excessive heat/humidity. Parking for 3 cars (tight but doable). Cons: first level floor not clean, under the living room chairs we had dust bunnies when we arrived. We were able to clean these up easily with broom and dust pan that’s was provided. Unable to adjust thermostat, we were under a heat advisory while we were there and the nights were a little warm despite ac. We never called to have it checked because of the outside temperature and it’s understandable to limit control of thermostat but both levels had same issues. Liked the grill but would have been nicer if it was in the backyard and not along side the driveway. Despite the cons, we would definitely stay there again!

I came down here to kitesurf. I've stayed in many places in OBX over the years, and this rates as one of the top - extremely well-kept, modern, not-dated, TV and cable in every room, WiFi, and a GRILL! The location is perfectly centralized. It's a short walk to the beach, bay, and to a few of the stores (Dollar General, pizza place, and the deli/supermarket). Easy to drive to kiting locations. You don't need much else. I would stay here again and recommend the house to my friends.
