A Season of Giving

A Season of Giving During this time of year we cannot help but think of those who have been affected by Hurricane Dorian that hit Hatteras and Ocracoke Island on Sept. 6th. Many of our local friends and family have lost their homes and belongings. The generosities of island residents and visitors who love the Outer Banks have helped to give these families a sparkle of hope for the future. With the holiday season upon us, we want to do what we can to help make these folks holidays a memorable one. How can you help? Below are just a few ways to help spread holiday cheer this season. The Giving Tree CHSS DECA students will be collecting new and lightly used Christmas decorations for the folks of Ocracoke Island. Donations can be dropped off at the Hatteras Realty Avon office through December 1st. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, please send checks to CHSS DECS P.O. Box 948 Buxton, NC 27920. These can be homemade or store bought and dropped off at their gallery location through November 23rd. Artists/crafters, feel free to include your information with your handmade ornaments – this information will be passed along with your ornaments. Ornaments can be mailed to the studio as well. Avon NC 27915 Let’s give our friends on Ocracoke Island a special holiday season this year!   Food Drive The 27th Annual Island Wide Food Drive is under way! Through the rest of the year, Hatteras Realty will be collecting donations at our Avon office location. Donations of unopened non-perishable food items, personal care products, house-hold cleaning products, and animal food/litter are accepted. Help us stock the Hatteras Island Food Pantry by dropping off items to our office. Monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated. Funds are being collected through December 7th and will then be divided equally by the number of children enrolled in Ocracoke School in a form of a gift card.
